Auntie Anne's Introduce
For a long time, residents of Astoria and the surrounding Queens neighborhoods had a specific ritual when they craved a classic, buttery soft pretzel: they had to plan a trip to a local shopping mall. However, the landscape of Steinway Street has recently transformed with a high-profile addition that brings suburban comfort straight to the heart of the city. Auntie Anne’s has officially arrived at 31-89 Steinway St, and it isn't coming alone. This location serves as a powerhouse "tri-brand" destination, housing Auntie Anne’s, Cinnabon, and Carvel all under one roof. For New Yorkers, this represents a significant shift in convenience, offering three of America's most beloved snack and dessert brands in a single, easily accessible storefront.
The introduction of this multi-brand bakery and creamery to Astoria is a breath of fresh air for a retail corridor that has seen many changes in recent years. Instead of the ubiquitous smoke shops or generic storefronts, locals now have a dedicated spot for high-quality, freshly baked snacks. The concept is simple but effective: whether you are in the mood for something salty and buttery, warm and cinnamon-spiced, or cold and creamy, this location has you covered. The professional staff, including team members like Dana who have been praised for their kindness and sweetness, ensure that the experience of visiting this spot is as pleasant as the treats themselves. It is a professional operation that manages to balance the high-speed demands of New York foot traffic with a friendly, welcoming neighborhood vibe.
Location and Accessibility are arguably the standout features of this new Auntie Anne’s. Situated at 31-89 Steinway St, Astoria, NY 11103, USA, the bakery is strategically placed in one of the most bustling commercial districts in Queens. For local commuters, the convenience factor is off the charts; the shop is located just half a block away from the Steinway Street subway station, which is served by the M and R trains. This makes it an ideal "grab-and-go" destination for those heading home after work or locals stepping off the train and looking for a quick, hot snack before heading to the nearby shops or residences.
Because the shop is located on Steinway Street, it benefits from high visibility and excellent walkability. This part of Astoria is a premier shopping destination, and having a reliable spot for a quick bite improves the overall experience for anyone spending an afternoon in the area. It is important to note that this specific location is designed as a takeout spot. There is no indoor seating, which reflects the fast-paced nature of the neighborhood. The shop is small but remarkably clean, allowing for an efficient flow of customers who want to order, grab their steaming hot pretzels or ice cream, and continue on their way through the vibrant streets of Astoria.
Services Offered at this location are diverse thanks to the integration of three distinct brands. This ensures that every member of a group can find something they enjoy, regardless of their specific cravings. The services include:
- Fresh pretzel baking: Auntie Anne’s signature pretzels are made on-site, with batches often prepared fresh to order to ensure they are served steaming hot.
- Cinnabon bakery services: A full range of classic cinnamon rolls, Minibons, and Cinnasweeties for those who enjoy indulgent, icing-topped treats.
- Carvel ice cream service: A selection of soft-serve, scooped ice cream, and iconic Carvel novelties like Flying Saucers and ice cream cakes.
- Takeout-only service: An efficient counter-service model designed for speed and convenience in a busy urban environment.
- Fresh-batch preparation: For items that have run out, the staff frequently prepares new batches on the spot, ensuring the highest possible quality for the customer.
- Staff-assisted selection: Helpful service for specialized items, including refrigerated Carvel products that are kept in locked displays to maintain temperature and security.
Features and Highlights of the Steinway Street location make it a unique addition to the Astoria food scene. Beyond just the food, the operational standards and the convenience factor stand out to local users. Key highlights include:

What is worth choosing when you visit this location? While the menu is extensive, certain items consistently stand out as local favorites. For fans of Auntie Anne’s, the Sweet Almond Pretzel is a premier choice, offering a perfect balance of crunch and sweetness. If you find yourself in the shop when a batch has just run out, it is well worth the ten-minute wait for a fresh one; the difference in quality when it comes out "steaming hot" is incomparable. Another highly recommended option is the Cinnamon Sugar Pretzel Nuggets, which provide a bite-sized, shareable version of the classic pretzel flavor that many New Yorkers remember fondly from their mall-going days.
For those looking for a cooler treat, the Carvel section offers the iconic Flying Saucer Ice Cream Sandwiches. While you may need to ask a staff member to unlock the fridge, the quality of these classic New York treats makes it worth the minor extra step. If you are a fan of Cinnabon, their signature rolls are always available, though they are best suited for those with a serious sweet tooth. Ultimately, the best part of choosing this Steinway Street spot is the ability to mix and match. Whether you are picking up a salty pretzel for a quick snack or a container of ice cream sandwiches for a family treat later, the convenience and quality of the three brands in one place make every visit a rewarding experience for the Astoria community.
In summary, the Auntie Anne’s on Steinway Street is much more than just a pretzel shop. It is a professionally run, multi-brand hub that brings comfort and convenience to one of Queens' most famous shopping streets. By providing fresh, hot bakes and cool treats just steps from the subway, it has quickly become a favorite for those who value efficiency without sacrificing the nostalgic flavors of their favorite brands. For anyone in Astoria looking for a "fix" of pretzels, cinnamon rolls, or ice cream, this small but mighty takeout spot is the definitive answer.

People in Astoria no longer have to trek to their local malls for an Auntie Anne’s, Cinnabon, or Carvel fix—a new location featuring all three brands has opened on Steinway Street, just half a block from the subway. How convenient is that?! While I find Cinnabon items too sweet for my tastes, I am a big fan of Auntie Anne’s and Carvels. This location is small but very clean—operating entirely as a takeout spot with no setting inside. I ordered one of their Sweet Almond Pretzels ($5.99) and Cinnamon Sugar Pretzel Nuggets ($6.49). The Pretzel Nuggets were good and exactly as I remembered them. I waited about ten minutes for my Sweet Almond Pretzels as they had just run out and needed to make a fresh batch. It came out steaming hot and delicious. I also considered getting a container of their Flying Saucer Ice Cream Sandwiches but alas the fridge that contained all of the Carvel items was locked. You have to ask a staff member to open it, which honestly deterred me this time—maybe next visit! Overall, I’m really happy to see this spot open. It’s so convenient to have all three brands in one place—and honestly, I’d much rather have this than yet another smoke shop on the block.

I went to Auntie's Anne's twice to get plain pretzels and they never have ready. They said to comeback in 7 minutes which I did. Today the same situation bur when I came back one of the girls said they only had one and I had to wait 5 more minutes. Fje cashier had an attitude. Fee minutes later the same cashier went to check and they did have them. She told the girl in thay they did have fhem6all along and the girl didn't apologize she kept doing whatever she was doing. The cashier put them in a bag gave them to me without even apologizing either and with a nasty face. I really don't want to comeback to a olacs where they make me wait, no body pays attention and on top with an attitude.

Yet again, generic gentrified fast food slop replaces a unique local business that had actual dietary options. Get em out of here!
