La Casa del Sabor Bakery Restaurant Introduce
Introduction / Overview
In the heart of Astoria’s bustling Broadway corridor, La Casa del Sabor Bakery Restaurant serves as a vibrant testament to the rich, diverse flavors that define the Queens culinary landscape. This local gem has quietly become a neighborhood sanctuary for those seeking the comfort of traditional Latin-inspired baking and hearty restaurant fare. Known for its unassuming charm and the intoxicating aroma of warm dough that wafts onto the sidewalk, La Casa del Sabor offers a unique hybrid experience: it is part cozy morning bakery and part robust local eatery. For residents and visitors alike, it represents the quintessential New York "find"—a place where quality and tradition meet at a price point that remains refreshingly accessible in today’s economy.
The bakery prides itself on a "made-from-scratch" philosophy that is evident in every bite. Whether you are a long-time local who has passed by for years or a newcomer who stumbles upon it by chance, the welcoming atmosphere is immediate. The staff is frequently praised for their friendly demeanor, contributing to a community-centric vibe that makes every customer feel like a regular. In a city where speed often trumps service, La Casa del Sabor takes the time to ensure that their pan queso is perfectly soft and their coffee is brewed to hit the spot, making it a premier destination for a reliable breakfast or a midday treat.
Location and Accessibility
La Casa del Sabor Bakery Restaurant is strategically located at 37-02 Broadway, Astoria, NY 11103, USA. Positioned on one of Astoria’s most iconic and energetic streets, the bakery is easily accessible to anyone navigating the northwestern pocket of Queens. Its location at the corner of Broadway and 37th Street puts it in the center of a thriving commercial district, surrounded by local boutiques, cafes, and residential blocks. This makes it an ideal stop for commuters heading to work or locals enjoying a weekend stroll through the neighborhood.
Accessibility is a key feature of this Broadway location. For those utilizing public transportation, the bakery is just a short walk from the Steinway St station (M and R trains) and the Broadway station (N and W trains), connecting it seamlessly to Manhattan and the rest of Long Island City. For those who prefer to travel by foot or bicycle, the storefront is approachable and features a clear, inviting display of its daily bakes. While street parking in Astoria can be competitive, the high turnover of the area usually allows for quick pickups, and the neighborhood's safety and walkability make the trek to 37th and Broadway a pleasant experience year-round.

What is worth choosing
If you are stepping into La Casa del Sabor for the first time, your priority should undoubtedly be the Pan Queso (Cheese Bread). This item has earned a cult following among Astoria residents for its delicate balance of savory cheese and a hint of sweetness. It is the perfect morning companion—soft, comforting, and consistently fresh. Many regulars consider it their "favorite thing every morning," and at a price point that defies typical New York trends, it is an easy luxury to indulge in daily.
Another must-try item is the Bunuelos. These golden, round delights are best enjoyed while still warm, providing a satisfying crunch that gives way to a light, airy center. To round out your visit, grab one of their Iced Coffees; customers frequently mention that it "hits the spot," offering a crisp and refreshing caffeine boost that pairs beautifully with the richness of the cheese bread. Whether you are looking for a quick snack or a full meal, these signature items represent the very best of what La Casa del Sabor has to offer—authentic, delicious, and deeply rooted in the "sabor" (flavor) of the community.

Stumbled upon this place by chance and was really impressed. I tried the pan queso and the bunuelos. Both were delicious and freshly made. Also grabbed an iced coffee, which hit the spot. Prices were surprisingly reasonable for a café. Definitely worth a visit!

I only discovered this place a few months ago after living this neighborhood for few years. Their cheese bread is the best discovery of the year! It’s subtle sweet cheese bread is my favorite thing every morning. Also who can best this price for something so tasty in 2024 in New York? Big kudos to friendly staff :)

Casual, spacious Colombian bakery and Dominican restaurant, all in one. La Casa del Sabor has Colombian baked goods prepared and baked on premises (you can literally see the oven towards the back of venue). They offer Colombian beverages in the fridge, including Pony Malta. Their breads are fresh in the morning. Their actual cooked meals are Dominican. They offer home-cooked meals throughout the day and have lunch specials for small and large plates. You can dine-in 🍽 or take it to go. Prices are fair and seats are usually available. The ladies are generally nice, really patient, helpful, and they explain what each item is. The male baker can be creepy, but he mostly stays in the back. The staff often rotates.

Very nice staff, great food and fair price in my opinion. I came here for breakfast and had questions as I am not familiar with the cuisine. The lady who helped me answered all of them and even gave suggestions. She was very sweet and nice. The food that I had was amazing, I will definitely come back.

The flan here is disgusting. Me and my family each had a bite and we all agree the flan was burned in addition to a foul and sour taste. I had to make a purchase in order to use the restroom leading me to pick this poor excuse of flan. The toilet seat was covered in urine. After cleaning the seat I was finally able to use the restroom, however the staff began banging on the door demanding me to exit the restroom and questioning what I was doing. Do not eat here, extremely unsanitary and awful tasting food.
