Martine's Fine Bake Shoppe Introduce
In the heart of Scarsdale Village, directly across from the Metro-North station, lies a culinary destination that transport visitors to the patisseries of Europe. Martine's Fine Bake Shoppe has established itself as a premier destination for those who appreciate the intersection of high-level pastry execution and bold, well-developed flavors. Known for a sophisticated yet welcoming vibe, this "fine bake shoppe" is more than just a place to grab a morning muffin; it is a center of artisanal excellence where every bread, cake, and sandwich is crafted with a focus on premium ingredients and visual artistry. For New Yorkers who commute through Westchester or locals who call Scarsdale home, Martine's represents a daily luxury that elevates the standard for neighborhood bakeries.
The shop is a sister-and-brother venture led by Yuval Golan and Tal Campana, whose Israeli heritage and global culinary perspective infuse the menu with unique depth. While the Scarsdale location is intimate—described by regulars as "narrow" and "charming"—it operates with the efficiency of a well-oiled machine. This high-energy environment is a testament to its popularity, particularly during peak morning hours and holiday seasons. Despite the hustle, the staff is known for maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor, ensuring that whether you are picking up a signature gold-flecked cake for a celebration or a savory quiche for lunch, the experience feels personal and refined. It is a place where "even in hard economic times, people will always stop for something sweet," a philosophy that has guided the bakery's success for over a decade.
Location and Accessibility
Martine's Fine Bake Shoppe is perfectly situated at 48 East Pkwy, Scarsdale, NY 10583, USA. Its location is arguably one of the most convenient in Westchester, sitting directly across from the inbound Metro-North tracks at the Scarsdale station. This makes it an essential stop for thousands of commuters who pass through the village daily. The shop’s presence on East Parkway places it at the center of Scarsdale’s most iconic shopping and dining district, surrounded by Tudor-style architecture and a pedestrian-friendly atmosphere that encourages "grab and go" visits.
While the interior space is at a premium and can feel slightly crowded during busy periods, the shop offers outdoor seating during the warmer months, allowing patrons to enjoy their coffee and pastries while soaking in the village atmosphere. For those who prefer a roomier "dine-in" experience, Martine's also maintains a larger second location in nearby Tuckahoe. Accessibility for drivers is facilitated by local street parking and nearby municipal lots, though many visitors find that the best way to experience the shop is as part of a walking tour of the village center. Its central location ensures it is easily reachable for residents of Eastchester, Edgemont, and Hartsdale as well.

What is worth choosing
When you find yourself at Martine’s, the "must-choose" item for first-timers is undeniably the Porcupine Cake or one of their stunning petite cakes. These miniature works of art are not only visually impressive but are expertly balanced in flavor. The Erpnay cake is another standout, highly recommended for those who enjoy the "elevated rainbow sherbet" vibes of champagne and citrus. For a more traditional but equally exceptional treat, the chocolate hazelnut babka is the shop's calling card; it is rich, decadent, and perfect for sharing or as a gift. Their almond croissants are also frequently praised for their crispy layers and creamy, authentic filling, reminiscent of the best bakeries in Paris.
On the savory side, the lunch sandwiches are a hidden gem. Because they are made on their own house-baked breads, the quality of the "carbohydrate foundation" is superior to most cafes. The Mediterranean-influenced items, like the Sabich (pita with hard-boiled eggs, eggplant, and tahini) or the various ciabatta presses, offer a hearty and flavorful midday meal. To drink, their cold brew is well-regarded among local coffee aficionados, providing a smooth and robust companion to their sweeter pastries. While their cupcakes can sometimes be a bit hit-or-miss, the breads, babkas, and specialty cakes are absolute winners that maintain an "8 and a half out of 10" status even for the most discerning critics. Whether you are grabbing a quick latte before the train or selecting a centerpiece for a party, choosing Martine's ensures a high-execution, gourmet experience.
Ultimately, Martine's Fine Bake Shoppe is a pillar of the Scarsdale community because it understands that quality and service are non-negotiable. It is a place that celebrates the joy of a well-made pastry and the comfort of a fresh loaf of bread. By combining Israeli hospitality with European pastry techniques, Yuval and Tal have created a shop that is both a local staple and a destination for foodies across the region. If you are in the New York area and looking for a bakery that truly "stacks up" against the best, a stop at 48 East Parkway is mandatory.

Aye t̾e̾r̾p̾y̾fam ya guy slid up on Martine's FBS onna whimsy float'n thru town...how did they stack up?? 👇 𝕍𝔼ℝ𝔻𝕀ℂ𝕋 8 n 1/2 on my scoreboard which is really saying something. Their assortment includes lunch sandwiches and breads all they way to lush well balanced cakes. Execution is high and flavors are well developed and bold. The erpnay really jumps out for its stunning gold flecked mirror glaze to its unique palate of champagne raspberries and citrus giving elevated rainbow sherbet vibes (amazing) The porcupine cake is another winner and tbh all of their petite cakes are impressive The cupcakes however land a bit dry so it kept them out of the 9's but overall the pastries and bread here are standouts. Its a little haughty taughty inside and space is at a premium so plan to grab and go although there is outdoor seating in the warmer months Will return to try more items in the near furure!

Went on Mother's Day morning. Place was packed. It's a bit narrow so worth noting if youre at all claustrophobic. Just go off peak hours if that's you. Well worth it. The staff was so friendly and working like a well oiled machine. Cycled through 15 people in about 15 minutes. Long lines don't mean long waits. Tuckahoe location is definitely roomier if you want to dine in. Not too far from here.

I absolutely love this place. Been coming here for years, but I do notice the lack of warmth that comes from the people who are servicing you – they are so rude to everyone even when it’s not busy in there. If you want forever, customers, don’t be rude to them. Otherwise, the food is amazing. Their pastries are amazing and the inside of the shop is also very beautiful.

Whereas the food at the bakery is wonderful I don't think I will be going back to this location again! I used to go in and have a lovely time with all the staff till the last few times when I get to check out the young lady named Xovana on the register is incredibly rude and impatient with me. She usually doesn't know what I ordered and when I tell her she cuts me off and rushes me through the process even when it's not busy. She usually isn't ready when I get up there and I see her running between the back and the register and usually not paying attention while working. Last time I was there I barely finished paying before she started trying to take the next person in line and it was just 3 of us in the store! I don't know why she is in such a rush while everyone else seems to be just fine but it's very off putting every time I go to this establishment.

Martine’s Fine Bake Shoppe – A Perfect Stop for a Quick & Delicious Bite Whether it’s before or after catching the train, Martine’s Fine Bake Shoppe is a great place to grab something quick and satisfying. The location is perfect, the service is friendly, and the food never disappoints. I was hungry for breakfast and, as always, I ordered my usual: a latte (a must!) and an English muffin with turkey. It was fresh, fast, and exactly what I needed. But what really stood out? The incredible dessert selection. So many options that I already know I have to come back just to try them! If you’re in the area, it’s definitely worth stopping in—whether for coffee, breakfast, or something sweet. Have you try the dessert??? 😎Martine’s Fine Bake Shoppe 📍48 East Pkwy, Scarsdale, NY 10583 #scardale #ny #foodie
