MC Bakery and Coffeeshop Introduce
In the vibrant tapestry of the Bronx, where neighborhood corners are defined by their culinary landmarks, MC Bakery and Coffeeshop stands as a notable fixture on West Kingsbridge Road. This local establishment, often referred to by regulars as "My Casa Bakery," serves as a multipurpose hub for the community, blending the traditional elements of a classic Latin-influenced panaderia with the functional appeal of a New York breakfast spot. For residents of the 10468 area and beyond, the bakery offers a glimpse into the daily rhythms of the borough, providing everything from a quick morning espresso to elaborate custom cakes for family celebrations. As with many long-standing local businesses in the New York region, it presents a mix of artisanal tradition and the fast-paced service expected by city dwellers.
The role of a local bakery like MC Bakery and Coffeeshop goes beyond merely selling goods; it acts as a cultural touchstone. In an area known for its dense residential population and busy transit corridors, having a reliable spot for fresh bread and hearty breakfast plates is essential. The establishment has cultivated a following for its specific approach to comfort food, often emphasizing large portions and traditional recipes. While it operates in a highly competitive market filled with various dining options, its dual identity as both a bakery and a coffeeshop allows it to cater to different needs throughout the day, whether that be a sit-down meal or a takeout order of pastries.
Location and Accessibility
MC Bakery and Coffeeshop is located at 58 W Kingsbridge Rd, Bronx, NY 10468, USA. For locals, the bakery is highly accessible on foot, sitting along a stretch of road that sees significant daily foot traffic. For those traveling from other parts of the Bronx or the wider New York area, the bakery is well-connected via public transportation. It is situated near major subway lines, including the B and D trains at the Kingsbridge Rd station and the 4 train at the Jerome Ave-Kingsbridge Rd station, both of which are within comfortable walking distance. Additionally, several local bus routes (such as the Bx9 and Bx22) serve the immediate vicinity, ensuring easy access for commuters. What is worth choosing
When navigating the menu at MC Bakery and Coffeeshop, it is wise to lean into the items that the shop prepares daily with local traditions in mind. For many, the breakfast platters are the primary draw. The "Western Omelette with Home Fries" is a classic choice that offers a substantial and filling start to the day. For a more unique local flavor, the "Hobo Sandwich"—which typically packs eggs, home fries, onions, and peppers into a single roll—is a fan favorite for those needing a portable, high-energy meal. The shop is also well-regarded for its sandwich-making speed, making the bacon, egg, and cheese on a roll a reliable staple for the morning commute.
On the bakery side of the business, the Tres Leches cake is arguably the most famous offering. Known for being moist and richly flavored without being overly cloying, it is a frequent pick for those celebrating birthdays in the neighborhood. For a smaller sweet treat, the guava pastries (pastelillos de guava) provide a perfect balance of flaky crust and fruit filling. It is worth noting that while the bakery handles a high volume of orders, customers have occasionally reported that details on custom cake lettering can be inconsistent; therefore, if you are ordering a cake for a specific event, it is highly recommended to double-check the instructions with the staff during the order process to ensure your son's or daughter's name is exactly as you wish. Additionally, when ordering for takeout, it can be helpful to request that containers be bagged carefully to preserve the presentation of the larger breakfast platters. Ultimately, the best way to enjoy MC Bakery is to embrace the simple, traditional items—like their fresh bread and hot coffee—that have made it a daily habit for many in the Kingsbridge community.
The experience at MC Bakery and Coffeeshop is a reflection of the Bronx itself: busy, authentic, and deeply connected to the people it serves. Whether you are stopping in for a quick "pan con cafe" or picking up a strawberry shortcake for a weekend party, the establishment provides a slice of local life that is hard to find in more commercialized parts of the city. By focusing on the flavors and services that the 10468 community values most, it continues to be a go-to destination for anyone seeking a true Bronx neighborhood bakery experience.

I decided to order a cake for a party from this place, to my surprise the workers did not follow what I wanted written on the cake. They just wrote whatever they wanted when they was clearing space enough to write. It was very disappointing as it was for my son. I will not be ordering from here again. Very careless of the workers seems like they didn’t even put any effort.

Today, I decided to go to My Casa Bakery for a number 7 which is a western omelette with home fries and also gotten 3 beacon eggs sandwiches as well to go. The woman took my order and packed it for me. When I got home and took my food out the bag. My container of food was squished as if she was trying to fit everything in one bag. How can she be okay giving me a squished up container that has also made the food all squished up. This is very disappointing to pay 11 dollars for something that can't be enjoyable.

Wonderfully friendly staff, who helped me pick cakes for a party nearby. The cakes themselves were amazing and worth the fair prices.

The BEST breakfast sandwiches in the Bronx! Been going here for years so you can trust me on that one! Not only is the food affordable, but the service is really really quick. They’re very generous on the portions too and that has never changed! Love the fresh pressed bread that the sandwiches are made on! Seriously, THESE ARE THE BEST BREAKFAST SANDWICHES YOU WILL EVER GET IN THE BRONX!!! MC BAKERY I’VE GROWN UP EATING HERE AND I LOVE YOU ❤️!!!
