Twin Donut Introduce
In the heart of one of the Bronx's most energetic hubs, Twin Donut stands as a familiar landmark for those navigating the bustling intersection of Fordham Road and Jerome Avenue. For decades, the Twin Donut name has been synonymous with the New York morning routine—offering a reliable pit stop for a quick caffeine fix and a sugary pick-me-all. However, the location at 3 W Fordham Rd has evolved significantly, expanding its identity from a traditional donut shop into a multifaceted "Mexican Grill" and deli. This evolution reflects the diverse tastes of the modern Bronx community, blending the nostalgic charm of an old-school coffee counter with the vibrant, spicy flavors of contemporary Mexican street food. Whether you are a student at nearby Fordham University or a commuter catching the 4 train, this establishment serves as a versatile "energize-your-day" destination that caters to both early birds and late-night cravings.
For local New Yorkers, Twin Donut is more than just a place to grab a snack; it is a community touchpoint situated in a high-traffic zone where the pace of the city is palpable. The atmosphere is often described by regulars as lively and welcoming, frequently anchored by familiar staff members who recognize the faces of the neighborhood. While many shops in the city have shifted toward a purely transactional model, this location maintains a sense of "neighborhood diner" DNA, where you can find a quiet corner to eat peacefully amidst the urban roar outside. It serves as a practical solution for those looking for a wide selection of food and drinks without the pretense of Manhattan’s high-end cafes, providing a functional, factual, and locally-driven dining experience.
Location and Accessibility
The shop is strategically located at 3 W Fordham Rd, Bronx, NY 10468, USA. This specific address puts it at the epicenter of the Fordham shopping district, making it one of the most accessible eateries in the borough. It is situated almost directly above the 182nd-183rd Streets or Fordham Rd subway stations (B, D, and 4 lines), ensuring that those traveling from Upper Manhattan or other parts of the Bronx can step off the train and into the shop within minutes. Additionally, multiple bus lines, including the Bx1, Bx2, and Bx12 Select Bus Service, stop just steps from the front door.
For those navigating the city by car, it is important to note that the Fordham Road corridor is one of the busiest in New York City. While street parking is notoriously difficult to find, the shop’s location allows for quick "run-in and run-out" service, a common practice for local drivers. The high visibility and central location make it an ideal meeting point for locals or a convenient stop for anyone visiting the nearby New York Botanical Garden or the Bronx Zoo. Its presence at this "busiest intersection" ensures it remains a vital part of the daily flow for thousands of New Yorkers.
Services Offered
Twin Donut has moved far beyond its namesake to offer a full-service culinary experience. Today, it functions as a hybrid between a bakery, a breakfast deli, and a Mexican grill. What is Worth Choosing
When visiting this specific Twin Donut, the "worth choosing" items often lean toward their updated savory menu. While the donuts provide a nostalgic comfort, the Buffalo Wings with fries have become a surprise favorite among local reviewers, noted for being a delicious and filling option for a warm afternoon. If you are stopping by for breakfast, the Two Eggs and Cheese on a roll remains a quintessential New York choice, especially when paired with their highly-rated Mango Smoothie—a refreshing alternative to the standard morning coffee that many Bronx residents swear by for "energizing their day."
For those looking for a more substantial meal, the Philly Cheesesteak Combo or the Lamb Gyro Sandwich are excellent choices that showcase the shop’s transition into a full-scale deli. If you are a fan of Mexican flavors, the Burrito Bowls are worth exploring, as they offer a variety of fresh proteins and toppings that rival larger chains. Ultimately, Twin Donut is worth choosing for its sheer versatility; it is one of the few places in the 10468 zip code where you can satisfy a craving for a breakfast platter, a spicy chicken sandwich, and a dozen donuts all in one visit. It remains a reliable, factual staple of the Bronx, standing its ground in a neighborhood that demands both quality and convenience.

I loved the atmosphere and the food they provide. I just stopped by to energize my day, and a familiar server by face greeted me kindly. I got the delicious food I ordered and ate peacefully in the restaurant. Wide selection of food and drinks. It is the perfect spot in the busiest intersection of Fordham. Thank you so much guys. On a warm March day, I went to visit this place again, and I wanted to try the buffalo wings. Delicious with the fries! The cashier was friendly and kind and the atmosphere is perfect for this Twin Donut.

I used to go here for my bowls and tacos , but the meat is poorly seasoned and I much rather eat Taco Bell. The breakfast is served on a paper plate , your business is small enough where u can get some real plates atleast. The cashier doesn’t acknowledge people walking in , one time I was standing there while she was taking care of one person and she was moving soooo slow that I just walked out. Also a Snapple is $3 ?!! The delis serve breakfast sandwiches, qdoba makes Mexican inspired dishes and there is a halal truck on every corner and Dunkin’ Donuts is across the street …why choose twin donut ?

This used to be a decent spot. Now i avoid it at all costs. Dont even try their coffee. Geab one from dunkin or a cart or ANY bodega near by. Price and taste is better ANYWHERE else. But they are nice and fast. Just pricey and crappy food being produced.

The food was delicious, and the service was great. The dining was clean 👌🏾 I would recommend people to eat here if you want a protein bowl. They make fresh juices.

Decent diner that offers breakfast and fast food options with exceptionally tasty ingredients (only edge it has over the other local spots). Sitting can be issue depending on how full or crowded the line is. Store size isn't the best but the tables/seats feel blissful when there's minimal people there. Only issues are the customer service alongside the price hikes. Sometimes have my order wrong even after explicitly stating how I wanted it prepared. It's a 50/50 with how many times it's happened. Probably the cooks favoring who tips and doesn't. Very weird.
