By combining traditional baking heritage with contemporary customization tools, they serve a diverse clientele across the five boroughs, striving to deliver both visual impact and the nostalgic flavors that local patrons expect from a reputable Queens institution. Whether it is a whimsical dinosaur theme for a toddler or a sleek, jazz-inspired design for an adult gala, the shop works to turn every order into a memorable part of the party.

What is worth choosing
When ordering from NYC Birthday Cakes, the standout choice is undoubtedly their "Custom Creation" service. For those who want a cake that truly pops at a party, taking advantage of their ability to replicate detailed themes—from cartoon characters to specific hobbies—is highly recommended. To get the best results, it is worth being very explicit with your design requests; provide clear images and emphasize the specific "small details" like thought bubbles, specific colors, or unique toppers that are most important to you. The "jazz saxophone solo" smooth frosting and cloud-like layers are frequently cited as highlights, making the classic vanilla or chocolate sponge with traditional icing a safe and crowd-pleasing bet for large gatherings.
Additionally, for those hosting a traditional New York celebration, don't overlook their Italian cake options. Requesting the "traditional icing" seen in classic Italian-style bakeries can provide a nostalgic flavor profile that pairs beautifully with a tray of their assorted cookies or French macarons. If you are a first-time customer, using the online quote form is the most efficient way to begin; it allows you to see the "edible art" possibilities and ensures you are on the same page as the bakers regarding your budget and design expectations. Whether you are looking for a simple, elegant birthday treat or a complex, multi-layered masterpiece, NYC Birthday Cakes in Middle Village offers the creative range to make your next party "a piece of cake."

NYC Birthday Cakes Reviews

Horrific job. Dear owner, you need to think long term rather than short term when a customer orders. This cake was poorly crafted and not worth $70. A BJs cake would have been $20, larger, and more attractive looking. The reason I say think long term is because I could have become a dedicated customer order 4-5 times per year. Many of my favorite bakeries have closed down. 1. Submitted a request for a quote. I had to call multiple times to follow-up. 2. Uploaded various samples and explicitly told the bakery I want creativity like 👍 be seen on the site and provided multiple images of the theme of the cake. Bakery semi replicated a photo but poorly done. I also 3X emphasized adding the leaves and the “hi” thought bubbles. First photo is what I found in the internet. All other photos is the poor and version wannabe replica 3. I provided sufficient notice. In fact, I called and said I’ll actually be picking up 2 hours later and they were pleased with the news. 4. I requested the traditional icing scene in those Italian cakes. Not sure what I got. 5. The size is not what was explained. Once again not worth $70. Tmrw is my sisters birthday and will be tasting the cake. Will provide an update on taste. Dear owner, you lost the opportunity of earning a dedicated customer. Think big picture, a job well done means raving reviews, referrals, and consistent cakes orders. Horrible and I’m pist off that I was ripped off. Viewers, first image is one of four photos provided.Bakery decided to just copy that image rather than come up with a creative idea from the collection of images. I also sent an email to complain. Baker claimed this is what I wanted and I didn’t want to pay for anything extra. I reminded him that I told him I didn’t Neal the pearls but that the leaves and hi thought bubbles were important to the show. I even jokingly said I don’t know why “hi” is important. I told him 3 times because I wanted him to remember the details.

NYC Birthday Cakes nailed it with this custom creation! The cake looked so good, I almost felt guilty eating it. With layers fluffier than a cloud and frosting smoother than a jazz saxophone solo, it was a hit at the party. The team made the whole process a piece of cake—pun intended. Definitely coming back for more because you can’t have your cake and eat it too unless it’s from NYC Birthday Cakes!

For my daughter's sweet 16, she insisted on a specific cake in a specific color and size. NYC Birthday Cakes made her dream come true! The order process was extremely easy and I was able to provide a swatch so that they could match the color as best as possible. (color matching fondant is not easy - I've made cakes myself but didn't have the time now) We only had 40 people and 4 layers (6:, 8", 10" & 12") would have been too much cake. So, they made the top layer and bottom layer with a cake form instead of cake. The two middle layers were red velvet with cream cheese frosting and the vanilla with chocolate mousse. They were absolutely delicious!! The cake was delivered to the venue on time and as promised. These are truly professionals and I strongly recommend them to anyone looking for a special cake! (FYI - we bought the topper on our own)

What you see, is not always what you get. For a very expensive cake, it was not worth it. The website sample cake and the cake I was given were different. Very important that you make sure your cake is the cake you order and not “similar “. As the recipient of the cake, I was not happy at all for a milestone birthday cake. The top was dark chocolate, there was no name and aged is spelt age. Very little lemon flavor as well. I would not recommend based on my experience.

I recently ordered a custom birthday cake from NYC Birthday Cakes, and it was fantastic! The dinosaur design was adorable and incredibly detailed. The cake not only looked amazing but also tasted delicious. The ordering process was smooth, and the team was attentive to my requests. I will definitely return for future celebrations. Highly recommend!
