What is worth choosing
When you visit Bake a Bagel, the first thing you should explore is their signature bagel and cream cheese combinations. Local patrons frequently highlight the cream cheese as "amazing," noting its rich texture and the freshness of the ingredients used in their flavored spreads. Whether you opt for a classic scallion spread or something more adventurous, the quality of the dairy paired with a warm, toasted bagel is a benchmark experience. The bagels themselves are praised for being consistently fresh, avoiding the toughness often found in lesser shops, making them a "10/10" choice for a simple yet satisfying breakfast.
For those looking for something more substantial, the Pastrami is a standout choice that receives high marks for taste and preparation. Choosing a hot pastrami sandwich on a freshly baked bagel provides a savory, decadent lunch option that bridges the gap between a traditional bagel shop and a high-end New York deli. The meat is flavorful and tender, prepared by a staff that understands the importance of quick, friendly service. Additionally, their breakfast sandwiches—the cornerstone of any Queens morning—are highly recommended for their generous portions and perfectly cooked eggs. If you are looking for a reliable, delicious, and friendly place to start your day in Maspeth, Bake a Bagel offers an experience that is well worth the visit.
Ultimately, what sets Bake a Bagel apart is the combination of a high-quality product and a staff that genuinely cares about the customer experience. In a neighborhood like Maspeth, where residents value hard work and authenticity, this shop delivers on all fronts. The "guy behind the counter" isn't just an employee; he's part of a team that keeps the community moving with a smile and a quick hand. With clean facilities, fair pricing, and a menu that hits all the right notes, Bake a Bagel is more than just a place to eat—it's a local institution that embodies the best of the New York bagel tradition. Whether it’s your first time or your hundredth, the consistency of the food and the warmth of the service make every trip to Flushing Avenue a highlight of the day.

I visited Bake a Bagel recently and was pleasantly surprised! The bagels were fresh and delicious, and the cream cheese was amazing. The staff were friendly and the restaurant was clean. An added bonus is that you only need to spend $10 to use a credit card without a fee. Overall, I had a great experience at Bake a Bagel and would highly recommend it.

I ran here this morning in search of a solid b.e.c near me and open at 6am. Never been or heard of. My absolute GO TO is Brooklyn bagel and coffee. I will now stick with my go to from here on out— this isn’t to say this is a bad last minute bagel shop. Over all I had a good experience here. Though, the guy taking my order did not ask for specifics on my bacon egg and cheese. No “how do you want your eggs cooked, what type of cheese” etc. I do prefer soft scrambled. But it was too late to mention as he was already on the griddle. I appreciated the hastiness. Now, the bagel was a bit small, though the flavors were 10/10 of the sandwich. Absolutely great. BUT would I pay 9.50 for a bacon egg and cheese plus a bare everything bagel? Never again. I’m so sad I did. This store has a $10 credit card minimum. The reviews and google menu indicated $5.00 for a sandwich with egg and cheese. Come to find bacon is $2.00 extra. And at that. You need to meet a price minimum. Only 45% of adults under 50 carries cash on them at a given time. Newsflash, we are in a digital world. The consumer should not be held responsible for business fees. Now, I get that you have a fee to pay, but apparently you (didn’t have to pay it or did you) charging me $9.50 instead of $10 isn’t doing me a favor; this is absolutely crazy. I feel ashamed to pay so much for a breakfast sandwich and I honestly should have just went with Mac Donald’s or Brooklyn bagel where I could have gotten wayyy more for my money and an enjoyable experience. Again, ok if ur in a crunch and have cash on you but I wouldn’t go out of my way for this.

I arrived at a school early and wanted something quick to eat. There was a local Dunkin' Donuts right across the street from this place but I wanted to support locally owned businesses. I did not regret coming here. The guys behind the counter were warm and friendly (and funny at times as I noted their interaction with other customers). I ordered a sausage, egg and cheese on a bagel. The coffee was the best I've ever tasted! No joke! I dined in and when I was finished, I wasn't rushed out. I will come back here again!

From the moment I walked in the place smelled amazing. Not only the smell of baked goods was in the air but the coffee too. I could hear the staff take care of some regulars and strangers and you could tell they were genuinely taking care of them and they were also efficiently communicating to get everyone in and out. My almond milk iced coffee was incredible and my egg sandwich was fresh, crispy on the outside and soft and warm on the inside. Love it. I was just visiting a friend but I might come back to this area just for this place! Leave a like or follow me if this was helpful. Check back for updates and new reviews of places around town.
