Danny Macaroons Introduce
When it comes to specialized treats in the New York City culinary landscape, few items are as beloved yet overlooked as the humble coconut macaroon. However, for those in the know, Danny Macaroons has transformed this classic confection into a gourmet experience that has captured the hearts of locals and visitors alike. Nestled in the vibrant neighborhood of East Harlem, this bakery has dedicated itself to the art of the macaroon, perfecting a recipe that results in a crispy exterior and a dense, chewy, and incredibly moist center. It is a professional operation with a friendly, neighborhood soul, standing out in a city full of grand patisseries by doing one thing exceptionally well.
The story of Danny Macaroons is one of passion and precision. Unlike the colorful French macaron, these are traditional coconut macaroons, elevated with high-quality ingredients and creative flavor profiles. The bakery has built a reputation not only for its superior product but for its deep-rooted commitment to the New York community. It serves as a prime example of how a small, focused business can become a staple of the local food scene through consistency and a genuine love for the craft. Whether you are a lifelong New Yorker or someone just passing through the 10035 zip code, stepping into the world of Danny Macaroons is an invitation to taste a piece of handmade excellence that feels both nostalgic and modern.
Location and Accessibility
Danny Macaroons is located at 156 E 117th St, New York, NY 10035, USA. This East Harlem location puts it right in the middle of a neighborhood famous for its rich cultural history and burgeoning food scene. For New York residents, finding a high-end bakery in this part of Manhattan is a treat in itself. The shop is situated on a residential stretch that offers a more personal, quiet atmosphere compared to the frantic pace of Midtown or the Lower East Side.
In terms of accessibility, the bakery is well-positioned for those using the city's public transportation network. It is just a few blocks away from the 116th Street subway station, which is served by the 6 train on the Lexington Avenue line. This makes it a convenient stop for commuters heading uptown or downtown. Additionally, the M101, M102, and M103 bus lines run along nearby Lexington and Third Avenues, providing easy access from various parts of Manhattan. For those who prefer to travel by foot, it is a pleasant walk from the northern end of Central Park or the East River. While parking in Manhattan is always a challenge, the relatively less congested streets of East Harlem occasionally offer more luck for those arriving by car than deeper downtown areas.

What is worth choosing
If you are exploring the menu at Danny Macaroons for the first time, there are certain items that have earned absolute "must-try" status. The Salted Caramel Macaroons are frequently described by regulars as "insane" and are the perfect choice for anyone who loves a balance of sweet and savory. The richness of the caramel combined with the toasted coconut creates a flavor profile that is hard to find anywhere else in New York. These are particularly popular in their gift bags, making them a top-tier choice for a surprise birthday or anniversary delivery.
For those looking for something seasonal or unique, it is always worth asking about their special holiday releases. During the Valentine’s Day season, the bakery often introduces limited-edition flavors that are not always listed on the main website, adding an element of surprise and exclusivity to your gift. Beyond the specific flavors, the "Gift Bag" service is highly recommended. It allows you to sample a variety of what they offer, which is ideal because, as many customers have noted, even the pickiest eaters find these treats irresistible. Choosing Danny Macaroons means choosing a business that values the human element of commerce—where the quality of the communication is just as high as the quality of the coconut. For a truly authentic East Harlem treat that packs a punch of flavor and heart, this is the definitive choice.

Danny Macaroons Reviews

This place is EXCELLENT. I should have written this review forever ago, but here goes. Many years ago, when my boyfriend was living in NYC, I decided to try to find him some of his favorite sweets locally for Valentine's day. I placed an order online with Danny Macaroons, and I cannot commend their customer service enough. When they saw from my gift message that this was a Valentine's order for someone nearby, they offered to hold the order and ship it so it would get to him exactly on Valentine's day. And on top of that, they added some of their special Valentine's macaroons because I placed my order before they were up on the website! My boyfriend got them right on time and told me they were absolutely delicious. I can't recommend this place enough. Stop by if you're in the neighborhood!

I sent some giftbags as a surprise to my boyfriend for his birthday and he absolutely loved them! He can't get over how good they are, and he's extremely picky! He said the caramel ones are insane... Dan provided excellent customer service and was very transparent in his communication. Although they were packed with orders, he made it happen and shipped them on time. I am so grateful! We will definitely be buying again and recommending them to everyone!!

No reciept is my first complaint. But I can let it go. Not everywhere gives them. My second complaint is that the hot chocolate was lukewarm. Didn't figure this out until I had already walked into the train station. I thought everything would be fine with the cinnamon bun. And it was mediocre at best when warmed up. But I fine a blonde hair INSIDE of it. I'm writing this after already throwing up. I'd eaten moat of it and inside the last piece, is a blonde hair. Which turned my stomach immediately. I walked in expecting a decently prices bakery, but the macaroons are $3 each. I don't even trust those anymore. Never going here again without calling tge health department first.
