What is worth choosing
When visiting El Panadero Bakery, the most highly recommended items are undoubtedly their donuts. Many visitors who have stopped in randomly have been pleasantly surprised by the quality and the perfect level of sweetness, making them a standout choice for anyone needing a quick treat. These donuts pair perfectly with a morning coffee and represent the bakery's ability to execute classic recipes with professional consistency. The light, airy texture of the dough is a testament to the skill involved in their daily baking process.
For those interested in traditional cakes, such as their strawberry cake, it is highly recommended to visit earlier in the day. To ensure the highest level of freshness, New York locals know that the best selection of cream-based cakes and fruit-topped pastries is found in the morning hours when the day's first batches are put on display. While the bakery is a busy spot that serves many people, taking the time to pick out items during peak freshness hours will result in the best tasting experience. Additionally, for those who speak Spanish, interacting with the staff can provide a more personalized experience, as they can help explain the different varieties of traditional breads that may not have English labels. Choosing El Panadero Bakery is a choice to support a local Manhattan business and to experience the authentic, unpretentious flavors that have served Washington Heights for years. Whether you are grabbing a single donut or a box of pastries for the office, the aromatic draw of 1380 St Nicholas Avenue is a New York experience worth stopping for.

Best bakery ever! My mom placed an order for me for a cake I've been wanting for a very long time. My dad picked it up, but unfortunately he was alone and he didn't realize the cake had tilted in the box while driving back home. I was devastated when I was told the news and even cried. My dad quickly called for another cake and the kind bakers gave us a great discount after hearing what happened. The next day, I was able to get my cake for my party!! This time, some of my family members picked it up together to make sure it was okay. Thank you to everyone who was involved in making my cake and we will definitely get our future cakes made here again!! You all made my 25th birthday amazing because of this beautiful cake!! And it tasted amazing!!
