Munchies crepes Introduce
In the bustling neighborhood of Washington Heights, where the energy of Upper Manhattan meets the rhythmic pulse of the Bronx border, Munchies Crepes has emerged as a beloved "hidden gem" for locals and late-night explorers alike. While the name suggests a singular focus on the delicate French pancake, this establishment is actually a versatile culinary hybrid, blending the sweetness of a gourmet dessert shop with the hearty, savory comforts of Latin-inspired street food. It is the type of neighborhood spot that New Yorkers cherish—a place where the neon lights stay on late into the night, offering a warm refuge for those seeking a high-quality meal or a decadent sugar fix long after most other kitchens have closed their doors.
Munchies Crepes prides itself on a "made-to-order" philosophy that resonates with the fast-paced lifestyle of New York City. In a city where many quick-service spots rely on pre-packaged goods, this bakery and eatery distinguishes itself by ensuring that every crepe is swirled on the griddle fresh and every savory dish is served steaming hot. This commitment to freshness has earned it a loyal following among local students, families, and professionals who appreciate the generous portions and the authentic, home-style care put into every plate. Whether you are craving the classic elegance of a Nutella-filled crepe or the savory crunch of traditional salchipapas, Munchies Crepes offers a menu that transitions seamlessly from a mid-afternoon snack to a satisfying midnight feast.
Location and Accessibility
Conveniently located at 601 W 180th St, New York, NY 10033, Munchies Crepes is situated in a prime location within Washington Heights. It sits near the corner of 180th Street and St. Nicholas Avenue, putting it right in the heart of one of the most culturally vibrant sections of Upper Manhattan. For those navigating the city’s transit system, the shop is highly accessible. It is just a short walk from the 181st St subway station, served by the 1 train, and is also within reach of several major bus lines including the M3 and M101. This makes it an easy destination for residents of the Heights as well as those coming from the nearby George Washington Bridge Bus Station.
The accessibility of Munchies Crepes extends beyond its physical location to its operational hours. Known for its late-night availability, the shop often remains open until the early hours of the morning—frequently cited as staying open until 2:00 AM or later on weekends. This "always-on" approach is a staple of the New York lifestyle, catering to the "city that never sleeps." While the interior has been described as cozy and unassuming—fitting the "hole in the wall" aesthetic that often hides the city's best food—the staff is known for being friendly and efficient. Whether you are walking by at 1:30 in the morning or stopping in for a quick lunch, the central location and late hours make it a reliable pillar of the 10033 community.

What is worth choosing
When visiting Munchies Crepes, the most recommended starting point is undoubtedly the signature "Munchies Crepe." This fan-favorite is a masterclass in dessert architecture, stuffed with a classic combination of fresh strawberries, bananas, and a generous lamination of Nutella, all topped with a scoop of ice cream and whipped cream. For those who prefer a more localized flavor, the "Manhattan Crepe" or "The Heights Crepe" offer sophisticated variations that have been specifically curated for the local palate. If you have a specific craving, the "Create Your Own" option allows you to mix and match toppings like Ferrero Rocher, crushed Oreos, or Dulce de Leche.
However, the real "pro tip" for visiting this spot is not to overlook the savory menu. The salchipapas are a standout choice—crispy fries topped with perfectly sliced sausage and a blend of flavorful sauces that make for the ultimate comfort food. The tacos are also a surprise hit, noted for being loaded with juicy meat and melted cheese that rivals many dedicated taquerias. To wash it all down, their chocolate shakes are highly rated for being creamy and not overly sugary, providing a cool contrast to a hot savory meal. Whether you go for the sweets or the savory treats, choosing to visit during the late-night hours allows you to fully experience the unique, quiet energy of the neighborhood while enjoying some of the freshest food Washington Heights has to offer.
In summary, Munchies Crepes is a quintessential New York City find. It doesn't rely on flashy marketing or a Midtown storefront; instead, it earns its reputation one crepe and one taco at a time. By providing consistent quality, friendly service, and a menu that caters to every type of craving, it has cemented its place as a go-to destination for the 10033 community. If you find yourself in Upper Manhattan and need a meal that is served with heart and packed with flavor, a stop at 180th Street is definitely in order.

This spot is a hidden gem! The food at Munchies Crepes is amazing — everything is packed with flavor, made fresh, and served hot. I ordered the tacos and the salchipapas, and both were absolutely delicious. The tacos were loaded with juicy meat, fresh toppings, and melted cheese, while the salchipapas were crispy, cheesy, and topped with flavorful sauces and sliced sausage — the perfect comfort food combo. Portions were generous, the service was fast, and the staff was friendly. You can tell they care about what they serve. If you’re anywhere near this place, do yourself a favor and stop by Munchies Crepes — highly recommended!

I was out walking around looking for a smoke shop at 1:30 in the morning not having any luck. Walked by this place which looks like a bit of a hole in the wall but at least they’re trying. The cashier was in the middle of putting up Halloween decorations. I really wasnt sure if they were open or not and dont have the faintest clue how they manage to stay in business because the area seems pretty dead, but then again I dont know anything about New York. The chocolate shake i ordered was alright though.

Cold, and stale food. I ordered both the crepes and churros, but unfortunately the churros were hard, not even crunchy or edible.

They load these crepes up. First time I went I was not properly prepared for it. It was incredible and I absolutely destroyed it but from now on I think I'll be sure to split one with someone. And I love that they're open late!
