After a great lunch at Maxi nearby, we stopped for coffee and pastry. Very busy with mostly take out customers. Limited seating inside so we were lucky to find a seat. Very good pastry.

Fada Bakary on Mott Street is a beloved neighborhood café that has been serving the local community for years. It specializes in Hong Kong-style pastries and a daily variety of buns with different fillings. The bakery also offers traditional Hong Kong-style milk tea, staying true to authentic flavors. The space is clean, and the staff are patient and friendly. Although the bakery is usually busy, the staff work efficiently. When I visited, I had a hard time choosing because of the wide selection, but the cashier and staff were incredibly patient, answering all my questions with care.

Fay Da Bakery was a great stop for bubble tea. The hot bubble tea was only $5, the cheapest we found in Chinatown, and the quality was excellent. The bakery had a lively and bustling atmosphere, with a self-serve setup where you grab what you want and pay at the counter. The staff were friendly despite how busy it was. One thing to note is that there’s a $10 minimum for card payments, so it’s best to bring cash if you’re just getting drinks. Overall, it was a great experience, and I’d definitely go back.

Good, but not great. Fay da has quite a bit to offer in variety but the quality is not quite what I remember in the past. I purchased a few taro buns and they were each very poorly filled, and I felt I was mostly just eating plain bread. They do have taro mochi which is good but also not particularly well filled. While prices are cheap, there's better value at other bakeries in the neighborhood. The inside of the bakery has a few tables where you can sit, which is really nice.

If you know Fay Da you know it. This location is small but still has seating. All.of the favorites.and classics that you can find at their other locations. The staff is helpful and the service is very fast at this store. The location on Mott St & Canal St is very convenient and makes this an easy add to you list of shops when you make your Chinatown runs. Prices are always very reasonable.
