Na Tart Chinatown Introduce
Nestled in the heart of one of New York City’s most storied neighborhoods, Na Tart Chinatown brings a modern, artisanal flair to the traditional world of Asian-inspired bakeries. Located at 77 Bayard St, this specialty shop has quickly garnered attention for its dedication to "Nature Art"—a philosophy that blends high-quality, additive-free ingredients with innovative pastry design. For local New Yorkers navigating the vibrant streets of Chinatown, Na Tart serves as a specialized destination where the classic Portuguese egg tart is reimagined through a lens of premium French butter and organic elements. Whether you are a dessert enthusiast or a commuter in search of a high-quality caffeine fix, this boutique bakery offers a sophisticated take on street-side indulgence.
The concept behind Na Tart is a departure from the traditional no-frills bakeries that have historically defined the area. Founded with a mission to start an "egg tart revolution," the shop focuses on small-batch production and a rotating selection of creative flavors. By partnering with Cotti Coffee, a rapidly growing global coffee brand, Na Tart provides a complete "coffee and cake" experience that appeals to the modern urban palate. The shop’s aesthetic is clean and contemporary, mirroring the precision that goes into every flaky layer of their signature pastries. For those who live and work in Lower Manhattan, it represents a perfect marriage of cultural heritage and modern culinary standards.
Location and Accessibility
Located at 77 Bayard St, New York, NY 10013, Na Tart is situated in the bustling core of Manhattan's Chinatown, just steps away from the lush greenery of Columbus Park. This prime location makes it a highly accessible pit stop for anyone exploring the area. For those relying on the New York City subway system, the shop is a short walk from the Canal Street station, which serves as a major hub for the 6, J, Z, N, Q, R, and W lines. Additionally, the Chambers Street and Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall stations are within comfortable walking distance, making it easily reachable from the Financial District and City Hall areas.
The shop itself is designed for the New York pace of life, operating primarily as a takeout establishment. While the interior is intimate and cozy, the lack of extensive indoor seating reflects its role as a high-quality "grab-and-go" destination. The storefront is easily recognizable and even features a "pet-friendly" sign, welcoming local dog owners to bring their furry companions along while they order. For those driving into the area, street parking is typical for Chinatown—challenging but available—though most locals find that the high density of nearby transit options makes public transportation the most efficient way to visit.

Features / Highlights
Na Tart stands out in the competitive New York dessert scene by focusing on quality over quantity and innovation over tradition. Here are the highlights that make it a unique destination:

What is worth choosing
If it is your first time visiting Na Tart, the choice should start with their signature Original Portuguese Egg Tart. Priced at approximately $3 to $4, it is a masterclass in texture—featuring a light, egg-white-forward custard encased in an exceptionally crispy and crunchy outer shell. For those who enjoy a more modern twist, the "Sunflower" series is highly recommended. The Sunflower Corn Tart is a local favorite, prized for its unique visual presentation and the balanced sweetness of the corn filling, though it is often served at a delicate, mild temperature rather than piping hot to preserve the intricate pastry shape.
Beyond the tarts, the Cotti Coffee menu offers items that are worth choosing for a midday boost. The "Egg Tart Affogato" is a standout for those who want to combine the bakery’s two specialties; it features layers of flaky tart crumble and a whole signature egg tart served with creamy vanilla ice cream and a rich shot of Stumptown-style espresso. If you are looking for something lighter, the matcha or pandan-infused lattes provide a refreshing, Asian-inspired accompaniment to the rich, buttery pastries. When choosing your order, it is always wise to consider a 6-pack combo, as it allows you to sample the traditional AOP series alongside the more creative flavors like Ube Cheese or Creme Brulee, providing a full perspective on what this modern Chinatown bakery has to offer.
Whether you are stopping by for a quick snack or picking up a gift for a friend, Na Tart Chinatown offers a refined and flavorful experience that stands as a bridge between the historical charm of Bayard Street and the future of New York City’s artisanal food culture.

The place is a little small and takeout only. I got the sunflower corn tart, which looked and tasted very nice, but it was given to me not too hot, and for $6 I feel like I could've eaten more.

Egg tarts and coffee drinks at Cotti Coffee. The egg tart (original) was light and tasted of egg white, with a crispy, crunchy outer shell. While felt light, was missing the richness in the egg custard portion. A little over $3 each.

Dissapointed. I had to repeat about four times my order and I ordered six tarts. Guess what I saw when I came home - 5 tarts. I paid for 6 the combo. Employees behind the counter are extremely disoriented, disorganized and lack attention span. Not worth the trip or money. Tarts are ok.

I tried three tarts: Roasted Durian, Chocolate Bobo, and Taro Salted Egg Yolk. Each one was quite different. You can feel that hey lean hard into fusion and bold flavors. The durian tart was intense. It’s creamy, funky (in a good way), and rich. If you’re not into durian… maybe not the one to start with. The chocolate bobo tart felt like a dessert version of bubble tea. Chocolate custard with soft chewy pearls, all baked into that flaky tart shell. Fun texture, not overly sweet. Taro salted egg yolk was probably my favorite. Earthy taro plus that savory salted yolk is just a great combo. Balanced and not too sweet.

This is a very shop located near Mott St, where many the trendy and popular places are located in Chinatown NY. We ordered the classic egg tarts and they were fairly good. There was only one staff when we went and he was very nice. He asked if we wanted the egg tarts heated and warmly reminded us that it would be very hot.
