What is Worth Choosing
If you are visiting La Baguette Shop for the first time, there are several "must-try" items that define the excellence of this bakery. The absolute standout, and perhaps the most famous item on their menu, is the Herring Pate (herring patty). Long-time customers swear by the "delicious" flavor of the herring filling, which is perfectly seasoned and encased in a buttery, flaky crust. It is a savory experience that captures the essence of Haitian coastal flavors and is widely considered one of the best versions of this dish in all of New York City.
For those who want a broader tasting experience, ordering a variety of Haitian patties is the way to go. The beef, chicken, and spinach varieties are all highly recommended, each offering a distinct spice blend that is satisfying without being overwhelming. To complete your meal, pairing your savory patties with a bottle of Cola Champagne is a classic choice that provides the perfect sweet contrast to the savory crusts. While the Haitian cookies are a pleasant addition for those with a sweet tooth, the savory pates are the true stars of the show. Whether you are looking for a "quick bite to eat" or a deep dive into Caribbean culinary traditions, choosing La Baguette Shop in Hollis ensures you are getting a top-tier, authentic experience that has stood the test of time in the competitive New York food scene.

The food was amazing order consisted of Haitian patties variety (spinach, beef, fish, chicken), call the champagne and Haitian cookies (the cookies were OK). Would definitely recommend if you want a quick bite to eat.

Oh my goodness, these chocolate croissants are absolutely the best! I’ve been back here twice now, and whenever I’m in the area around the holidays, this is definitely my first stop for breakfast.

My wife and I went to a couple of places that sold Haitian patties and tried them all to see which one would be served at our baby shower. We decided on La Baguette Shop, and placed an order for 10 dozen patties. I was planning on coming back here to pick it up the morning of but Marie, the owner I believe, asked where the venue was and offered to deliver the patties to our venue which was 30 minutes away, for us instead. There was no additional charge or anything that was added and she was doing it out of the goodness of her own heart, so we tipped her well for that gesture. I have to say, she went far and beyond what was expected and I cant say enough good things about Marie and the patties and this store. The patties were a hit at our baby shower and it was devoured by our guests. You can't beat that flaky buttery pastry! We will definitely keep supporting small businesses like hers! Thank you again Marie!
