What is worth choosing
When placing an order at Make My Cake, the absolute standout that is worth choosing is the sweet potato cheesecake. Real customer experiences highlight that while some bakeries struggle with the density of cheesecake, Make My Cake has mastered a "perfect" texture that is both intense and rich. It is a unique fusion of a traditional Southern sweet potato pie and a classic New York cheesecake, resulting in a flavor profile that is sweet, smooth, and incredibly satisfying. For those who want something that represents the true spirit of Harlem baking, this is the definitive choice. It is a dessert that manages to be heavy on flavor without losing its artisanal touch.
Additionally, it is highly worth choosing their cupcakes, particularly the strawberry and red velvet varieties. Customers often note that these treats are "so fresh and so moist" that they are compelled to share their experiences with others immediately. If you are ordering through a delivery app, these cupcakes hold up remarkably well during transport, arriving as fresh as if they were just pulled from the display case. While the bakery does offer coffee, it is worth remembering that this is primarily a high-end bakery rather than a specialized cafe; the focus is squarely on the flour and sugar. For the best experience, pair their phenomenal cakes with your favorite brew at home or enjoy them as they are intended—as the star of the show. Whether you are a first-time visitor or a long-time local, the sweet potato cheesecake and the classic cupcakes remain the crown jewels of this Adam Clayton Powell Jr Blvd gem.
Ultimately, Make My Cake is a celebration of Harlem’s enduring culinary legacy. In a city where change is the only constant, the bakery’s commitment to "flesh, moist, and good" desserts provides a sense of continuity and comfort. By choosing to support this local institution, you are indulging in a piece of New York history. From the rich, sweet potato-infused batter to the perfectly smooth frosting on their signature red velvet slices, every item reflects a dedication to the craft of Southern baking. For anyone in the New York region looking for a dessert that delivers both on flavor and heart, Make My Cake is an essential stop on your culinary map.

Ordered for the first time from Uber Eats today. Had a taste for something sweet with my coffee. It was so fresh, so moist, and so good I had to share it with y’all. At least what was left! I’ll try the strawberry cupcakes next time :)

I ordered a cheesecake and a cup of cappuccino. The first cheesecake I ordered was a red velvet cheesecake and it was partially frozen. I returned it and I ordered a sweet potato cheesecake instead. The texture was perfect. The flavor and texture was intense...it did not taste like sweet potato but it was rich and sweet. The cappuccino was absolutely horrendous as it tasted like regular coffee with milk. In fact, it did not contain froth. The venue was hot. I recall going there during the summer, once, and it was not air conditioned either, so I guess the warm temperature is standard for the venue. There are a few tables and chairs for one to eat inside. I would return and try other types of cake but I would not waste my money on their coffee. Its a bakery not a cafe.

I order a special cake for my birthday it was a special pattern designed like my outfit. At first all seemed well a bit pricey but I went along because Sunday I was having a birthday Brunch. The night before my event I received a call assuming it was the manager or baker telling me the pattern I paid for wasn’t going to be enough to cover the entire cake that was quoted to me at $150. A bit stunned we already gave a deposit towards. I was a bit upset because I wasn’t going to pay additional it already was a bit over priced ($240.00), and to call at this hour was not good to me. When we thought this was settled before a deposit was given. I just said do whatever I didn’t care anymore. When I went to pick up my cake it was complete and it was actually nice and the full pattern went the circumference of the cake. Some portions could have been done a little more smoother and aligned better but the cake did look nice and the taste was good. I was glad they were able to work it out without hitting my pockets again…my only drawback the strategy should be in place if something like this does happen and the customer should be made aware prior to…

I purchased a small German chocolate cake for my birthday. It wasn’t what I expected. The cake was moist, but there was a smear of German chocolate icing on top and one layer in the middle of two layers of cake. Only chocolate icing outside of the cake. The middle photo is what I expected. I also bought red velvet cupcakes which were delicious. A sweet potato pie which was also yummy. I bought peach cobbler which was an absolute fail. It had a few chunky peach slices but these off putting very thin slices of peaches are what the thick pastry was filled with and there was not enough syrup. I wouldn’t buy again.

The cake was awful, and the two ladies there had a nasty attitude toward me and the boy who works there. The cake was dry and way too sweet, disgusting. I highly don't recommend the place. Waisted $55 dollars
