What is worth choosing
If you are visiting 5 Estrellas Bakery & Cafe for the first time, you must begin with their signature Mangú. Frequently cited by regulars as a highlight of the menu, this traditional Dominican breakfast of mashed plantains is prepared with the perfect consistency and served with savory accompaniments that are guaranteed to keep you satisfied for hours. Pair this with a large Café con Leche; the quality of the Colombian espresso used here creates a rich, creamy profile that stands out even among the many coffee options available on Broadway.

18OCT.2024 My first time here and I visit Harlem often. I had the delicious mangú and it left me stuffed 0930 until 1535.. soooo delicious. No idea how this spot keeps their café(coffee) super scolding hot even when they give you a cup to go. Delicious taste to your pallet. 5 EB&C sells small cakes and large cakes. The slices of cakes are a generous portion. So many sweet treats to choose from. This is the morning spot to get a delectable Dominican dish, drink, or dessert.

I recently ordered a cake for my child's birthday from this establishment, and the experience was extremely disappointing. Upon receiving the cake, the lettering was incorrectly placed on top instead of along the border as I had specified to the lady taking my order. When I brought this to their attention, they offered to fix it but said it would take 30 minutes to an hour. My son's birthday party was less than 30 minutes away, and they didn't seem bothered by their mistake. Their lack of concern for how this would affect my child's birthday was appalling. The service was horrible, and their indifference to ruining my child's birthday celebration is unacceptable. I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for a reliable and caring bakery.

Great lunch stop by with excellent espresso machine skills- a platter of Pollo guisado and other hot line items for $10 (I've only gotten the pollo because it is so good) and $2 regular coffee and $2 cappuccino. The baked goods are very good, I like the rugelach type cookie with toasted coconut on it.
