What is worth choosing
If you are stepping into LaSalle Bakery for the first time, you absolutely cannot leave without a pound of their Italian Butter Cookies. These are often described by regulars as "soft, sweet, and full of delicious flavor," representing the gold standard of Bronx Italian bakeries. For those looking for a personal-sized treat, the Large Cannoli is worth choosing every time. Because they are filled on the spot, the contrast between the crunchy shell and the creamy, sweet ricotta filling is exceptional. It is a simple pleasure that perfectly captures the bakery’s dedication to freshness.
Another local favorite is the Strawberry Shortcake, which is a bestseller for a reason. Featuring layers of light vanilla cake, fresh strawberry filling, and real whipped cream, it is the quintessential New York celebration cake. For the "carb enthusiasts," the Onion Rolls and Pane di Casa (house bread) are highlights that often sell out early in the day. Whether you are picking up a **Raspberry Cigar Danish** for a quick snack or a **Tres Leches Cake Square** for dessert, the sheer variety at LaSalle ensures there is something to satisfy every palate. Just remember to visit early in the morning if you have your heart set on their famous jelly donuts or specific specialty breads, as the neighborhood demand for these "yummy" treats is always high.

I went to this Italian bakery and it was amazing! The place is beautiful and feels warm and welcoming. The cookies were so yummy, soft, sweet, and full of delicious flavor. I can’t wait to go back again! 🍪

It “looked” like they had great cookies, but the appearance was definitely misleading. They even threw in a free strand of hair in the bag. Save yourself the disappointment and just walk down the block for a way much better pastry or cookie.

Ok size bakery. Service is meh. Doesn't even give off the bakery smell. The cookies taste like they're 5 days past their toss out day. Butter cookies just turn into a million crumbs and I had 3 different types. Tasteless and nutrigrain bar like crumbs. The only good Italian bakeries I find in the bronx are near little Italy and omgggg any and everything at Barinos on Ampere Ave (and their a deli). Brooklyn has THE BEST ITALIAN BAKERIES Black and white cookie was tasteless. My uncle was so anxious to go there and we were both disappointed.

anytime I come up to New York our first stop is at the bakery. my wife, my friend and myself always get an onion roll and pastries. I live in Florida now and you can’t even get anything as close as what they have. The girls that work there are great. The next day I went back and they ran out of onion rolls, the day after I went back and they had two saved for me. How can you top that type of service in atmosphere? We make sure we go every day until we return to Florida.

LaSalle bakery has been around for along time. They still make the best jelly donuts and crumb cake. If you go definately try their jelly donuts! Been enjoying them for over 30 years.
