Bagelette Introduce
In the heart of the New York region, where the bagel is more than just a breakfast item—it is a cultural institution—Bagelette serves as a local fixture for the residents of the Rego Park and Flushing borders. For those living in the city, the "hole-in-the-wall" aesthetic is often a hallmark of an authentic experience, and Bagelette fits this classic New York profile perfectly. While the shop maintains a modest and unassuming storefront that might be easily missed by a hurried passerby, it has remained a consistent point of interest for neighbors seeking a straightforward, traditional bagel experience without the pretense of modern boutique cafes. It is a place where the focus remains on the fundamentals of the New York breakfast: the roll, the spread, and the morning caffeine fix.
The atmosphere at Bagelette reflects the diverse and bustling energy of Queens. It is a shop that captures the duality of the New York service industry—where experiences can vary based on the time of day and the staff on shift, yet the core product remains a staple for many. For some, it is the quintessential "no-frills" spot where they have been getting their morning toasted bagel for years. For others, it is a discovery made while walking through the residential blocks of 63rd Road. In a region famous for its high standards regarding boiled-and-baked dough, Bagelette offers a glimpse into the everyday life of a Queens local, providing a functional and familiar environment for a quick morning bite.
Location and Accessibility
Bagelette is strategically located at 97-42 63rd Rd, Flushing, NY 11374, USA. Situated in the vibrant 11374 zip code, it sits on the cusp of Rego Park and Flushing, making it a convenient destination for a large cross-section of Queens residents. The shop is located on 63rd Road, a street characterized by its blend of residential apartment buildings and small commercial storefronts. This positioning makes it an ideal "walking distance" favorite for locals who prefer to skip the busier commercial hubs like Queens Boulevard for a more neighborhood-centric feel.
For those navigating the New York City transit system, the shop is accessible via several local bus routes that traverse the Rego Park area. It is also within a reasonable distance from the M and R subway lines, allowing commuters to make a quick detour on their way to the city. While the entrance and the interior are described by some as unappealing or showing signs of age—with some customers noting the need for renovations—the accessibility remains high for those who prioritize a quick transaction over a polished sit-down environment. Parking in this part of Queens can be competitive, typical of high-density New York neighborhoods, so most visitors find it easiest to arrive on foot or via public transportation.
Services Offered
Bagelette provides the essential services one expects from a neighborhood bagel establishment, focusing on the core components of the New York deli tradition. Their offerings include:

Features / Highlights
Despite its modest appearance, Bagelette possesses several features that define its character and draw in the local community. These highlights include:
- Personalized Cream Cheese Sampling: One of the standout features is the staff's willingness to let customers sample different cream cheese flavors, a level of patience that is highly appreciated by patrons.
- Warm Service from the Kitchen Staff: Many customers have noted the kindness and warmth of the team working behind the counter and in the kitchen area.
- The Everything Bagel Specialty: The shop is known for its "everything" seasoning, which provides the classic salty and savory crunch that New York bagel lovers crave.
- Toasting Precision: Patrons frequently comment on the quality of the toasting, ensuring the bagel is "nicely toasted" to hold up against generous portions of spread.
- Community Roots: Being a local "spot," it serves as a long-standing fixture in the Rego Park/Flushing neighborhood, familiar to many long-term residents.
- Generous Spread Application: The shop is recognized for providing "plenty of cream cheese," catering to the New York preference for a substantial ratio of spread to bread.

What is worth choosing
When visiting Bagelette, the clear winner for most patrons is the Everything Bagel with Cream Cheese. In a region where the everything bagel is the ultimate litmus test for any shop, Bagelette delivers a version that is consistently praised for being "great" and "nicely toasted." The seasoning is balanced, and the interior of the bagel remains soft enough to provide that essential contrast with the toasted exterior. When paired with their generous application of cream cheese, it provides the heavy, satisfying breakfast that many New Yorkers consider the only way to start a productive day.
Furthermore, it is highly worth taking the staff up on their offer to sample the different cream cheeses. Because the staff is noted for being "warm and patient" during this process, you can explore flavors that you might otherwise overlook. Whether you prefer a savory vegetable spread, a scallion-heavy cream cheese, or something on the sweeter side, the ability to taste before you buy ensures that your sandwich is exactly to your liking. This level of interactive service is a rare find in the often-curt world of New York bagel counters and is a significant reason why many local residents "will definitely be back."
While the interior may have a "no-frills" and somewhat aged appearance—with some customers noting the need for better maintenance of the facilities—the core product and the interaction with the "guys in the back" make it a solid choice for a local bite. If you are in the area and looking for a classic, straightforward bagel experience that captures the unpolished reality of a neighborhood Queens deli, Bagelette on 63rd Road is the place to go. Just remember to bring your appetite for a well-toasted, heavily spread bagel that stays true to the Queens spirit.

Great local spot for bagels. The entrance might not be that appealing, but that is immediately forgotten once you talk to the staff and get your food. The staff were so incredibly warm and patient - they offered to have us sample their different cream cheeses and took their time to answer our questions. My everything bagel with cream cheese was great - nicely toasted and plenty of cream cheese. Will definitely be back.

Old lady in the front hates her job and needs to be fired- horrible customer service! The guys in the back are very nice. Food is below average compared to other bagel spots nearby. Dirty place inside, ceiling tiles are dirty and dilapidated.

Bagel place in Rego Park. I was there 10 years ago and it was very good it was on my list to try it again. Now it looks like just old place never been renovated just old and dirty. I was hoping at least food is good as it was long time ago but it was so disappointing. I order everything bagel with dill garlic and herbs cream cheese. Bagel had barely any everything and cream cheese was just watery not even staying on bagel just mess outside of it with barely any flavor

These are easily among the TOP 3 bagel places in NYC and you can quote me on that. It's incredibly authentic and delicious. The staff is always friendly and the service is super quick! This place reminds me of the bagels places I used to stop at before going to school. The exterior, the interior, the service and the bagels are trapped in time. It's quintessential Queens and I'm happy to be able to still eat here. Born raised and never leaving nyc I've had the pleasure of eating bagels about once a week for the last several decades. This place ranks as one of my all time favorites with some of the best service and best bagels.

Whenever I'm back in Rego Park, Queens I always make my way to Bagelette, a longtime neighborhood staple open everyday early morning to mid afternoon. Their coffee is smooth and awakening. Their bagels are freshly made on site every morning. An egg cheese sandwich is made with a freshly cracked egg and American. Muenster or Swiss. They are mighty generous with the cream cheese they dollop on your bagel. Great variety of cream cheese, including cinnamon raisin and walnut Egg salad and tuna fish, too. Salmon and tofu spread. They have hash browns and French toast on hallahah bread. Danishes and cookies. I love this place!
