This transparency serves as a reassurance of freshness, as the aroma of baking dough fills the air each morning. While it operates as a high-volume, quick-service spot, it retains a neighborhood feel, bolstered by a staff that is frequently noted for its professionalism and a vibrant new menu design that makes ordering a breeze for everyone from seasoned locals to first-time visitors.

What is worth choosing
When visiting Bagels On Bartow, the most popular and highly recommended choice is the classic Bacon, Egg, and Cheese (BEC) on a toasted bagel. This item is a staple of the New York diet, and here it is served with a focus on fresh ingredients and a satisfying meat-to-egg ratio. For those who prefer a more traditional deli-style bite, the Lox Supreme is an excellent selection, featuring lox, scallion cream cheese, onion, and tomato on your choice of bagel. The bagels themselves are noted for being large and airy with a crunchy underside, providing a robust base for any sandwich.
For customers who enjoy a more decadent start to their day, the "Bartow Double Sandwich" or the "Heart Attack" (featuring multiple meats and eggs) are worth choosing for their substantial portions. If you are looking for something lighter, their bialys and vegetable cream cheeses offer a clean, flavorful alternative. However, it is important to be mindful of your order during peak times. While the service is generally professional, like many high-traffic New York shops, the staff is focused on speed. It is always a good practice to double-check your items before leaving to ensure the order is exactly to your liking. Despite occasional challenges common to busy delis, the quality of the bagels—specifically their "Everything" variety with its distinct hint of salt—remains a top-tier draw for anyone in the Bronx. Pairing your bagel with a cup of their fresh coffee completes the quintessential local breakfast experience.
In conclusion, Bagels On Bartow is a factual and reliable fixture of the Bronx food landscape. It offers the authentic taste of a New York bagel shop with the convenience and speed required by local commuters. If you find yourself in Co-op City and need a breakfast that is both filling and high-quality, this Bartow Avenue landmark is a choice that consistently hits the mark for the community it serves.

My bagel had hair in it when I went to ask for a diffeeent one . I literally showed the cashier he said since I had already eaten half that I would have to pay . Sounded very arrogant and smug like if I was trying to get one over him. First and last time I’ll be taking my business elsewhere.

Food was good I got a Bacon, egg, and cheese on a bagel customer Service was very good The two Hispanic girls were very professional also love what they did with the new menu. It’s easy for me to read for me to see. Nice and bright, the aesthetic that they put on the back of it was actually a fine touch. Nice work guys keep it up. Looking forward to coming again.

I’ve been a loyal customer here since childhood, which is why today stood out in a bad way. The service I received was noticeably worse than usual. After ordering, multiple people who arrived after me received their food before I did, which made it feel like I was intentionally pushed aside. The fact that I didn’t tip one time should never result in being treated differently. Tips are earned through service, not a reason to withhold it. This felt unprofessional and uncomfortable, and it’s something management should absolutely address with staff. I hope this is taken seriously because I’ve always held this place in high regard and would like to continue coming back.

Today my Bacon and egg breakfast was disgusting. The food was rotten and smell. I took one bite and it tasted funny. I ask my wife to taste it she took a bite and she threw up in the car. Then she threw up some more. I will not set foot in this store ever again. I'm so disgusted that I can't stop thinking about my rotten breakfast. We are paying customers. We don't deserve to be served rotten food. We are not animals. We are human beings. Again I will not set foot in this store ever again.

Don’t ever order from them on uber, the delivery fee is $9.50 most days, their “buy 1 get 1” prices are literally already doubled from the usual, so you are not getting anything for free. While the sandwiches are absolutely delicious, and they used to be my favorite part of the week, their pricing has become absolutely outrageous and unfair.
