Bub's Bakery Introduce
In a city as culinary-diverse as New York, finding a bakery that caters specifically to restrictive diets without sacrificing flavor is often a daunting task. For those living with Celiac disease or severe food allergies, the simple pleasure of walking into a bakery and ordering anything from the menu is a rare luxury. Bub’s Bakery, located in the trendy NoHo neighborhood of Manhattan, has become a beacon of hope for this community. By specializing in high-quality baked goods that are entirely gluten-free, soy-free, and nut-free, Bub’s has managed to capture the hearts—and appetites—of locals who previously felt sidelined by the traditional baking scene.
The philosophy at Bub’s Bakery is centered on "culinary magic." It is one of the few establishments in New York City where the lack of gluten and dairy doesn't translate to a lack of texture or taste. Many New Yorkers, including those without dietary restrictions, frequent this spot simply because the products stand up against the city's finest conventional bakeries. Whether you are a local resident or someone traveling from across the boroughs to satisfy a specific craving, Bub’s offers a professional and friendly environment where the quality of the ingredients is evident in every bite. It is a place where "devine" isn't just an exaggeration; it is the standard.
Location and Accessibility
Bub’s Bakery is perfectly situated at 325 Lafayette St, New York, NY 10012, USA. This location puts it in the vibrant NoHo (North of Houston Street) district, a neighborhood known for its architectural beauty, high-end boutiques, and a sophisticated food scene. Being on Lafayette Street means the bakery is at the crossroads of some of the city's most bustling areas, including SoHo, Greenwich Village, and the East Village. For locals, this makes it a convenient stop during a day of shopping or a quick detour on the way to work.
In terms of accessibility, Bub’s is exceptionally well-connected to the New York City subway system. It is just steps away from the Broadway-Lafayette St station (serving the B, D, F, and M lines) and the Bleecker St station (serving the 6 train). This makes it an effortless trip for anyone in Manhattan or those coming in from Brooklyn. While the area is high-traffic, the bakery is known for managing its popularity well; even when a line forms—which is common given the "hype"—it moves swiftly, ensuring that busy New Yorkers can get their treats and get back to their day. It is important to note for those planning a visit that this is primarily a "to-go" establishment, as there is very little seating available inside the shop.
Services Offered

Features / Highlights
What makes Bub's Bakery a standout in the 10012 zip code is a combination of its strict safety protocols and its impressive flavor profiles. Key highlights include:
- The "Cinnabon" Competitor: Their cinnamon rolls are widely regarded as the best gluten-free version in the city, frequently compared to major traditional brands in terms of satisfaction and flavor.
- Inclusivity: By removing nuts, soy, and gluten, Bub's allows a wider demographic of New Yorkers to enjoy classic bakery culture safely.
- Textural Mastery: They have achieved a "magic" formula that avoids the dry or gritty texture often associated with gluten-free baking.
- SWIFT Service: Despite the high demand and local hype, the shop is praised for its efficient queue management.
- Diverse Pastry Portfolio: Beyond rolls, the bakery excels in scones, biscuits, and ginger cookies, showing a broad range of culinary skill.
- Prime NoHo Setting: A clean, modern aesthetic that fits perfectly into the upscale Lafayette Street vibe.

What is worth choosing
If you are a first-time visitor to Bub’s Bakery, the absolute "must-try" item is the Cinnamon Roll. It has become the cornerstone of their reputation, especially among the Celiac community. Locals describe it as "phenomenal" and "as good as it looks," with many noting they can hardly believe it is gluten-free and dairy-free. It captures that elusive soft, gooey texture and rich cinnamon flavor that many people miss after going gluten-free. It is a true "destination" pastry that lives up to every bit of the hype.
For those looking for something beyond the cinnamon roll, the Ginger Cookie is highly recommended for its amazing flavor profile, and the Scone is a great choice for those who prefer a denser, more traditional pastry. If you are in the mood for something savory, the Biscuit is a highlight; it is noted for being exceptionally well-made, whether eaten plain or as part of a sandwich. While the "fake egg" on the biscuit sandwich receives more moderate reviews, the biscuit itself is considered awesome by regular patrons. While the banana bread might be an acquired taste for some due to its unique texture, almost everything else on the menu is widely considered a culinary triumph. For any New Yorker navigating food sensitivities, a trip to 325 Lafayette St is a rewarding experience that proves you don't have to give up your favorite treats just because you've given up gluten.

The #1 thing I missed most after being diagnosed with Celiac disease are the Cinnabon cinnamon rolls. I am glad to have found Bub's! I understand the hype, my cinnamon role was phenomenal. Thank goodness the line moved swiftly! The entire bakery is gluten, soy, and nut free. They do have dairy free options too. I am excited to go to back try their other delicacies.

Absolutely devinnneeee. This place is some culinary magic. The cinnamon roll is as good as it looks. So phenomenal. Can’t believe it’s gluten or dairy free. The scone is great. Dense, but delicious. The ginger cookie is amazing. The banana bread is just alright, kinda mushy/stretchy. Not my fav. The biscuit is great!! The fake egg on the biscuit sandwich is 6/10. But the biscuit itself is awesome. Ofc, all vegan and gluten free. There’s not really anywhere to sit inside.

Bub's Bakery is one of the most impressive bakeries I’ve visited in New York. The space is bright, welcoming, and always buzzing with energy, but what really stands out is the quality of the pastries. Everything feels thoughtfully crafted and beautifully presented. What makes this place truly special is that the entire menu is designed to be free from the top nine common allergens, including gluten, dairy, eggs, nuts, soy, and sesame, without sacrificing flavor or texture. The pastries taste just as indulgent and nostalgic as classic bakery treats, which is incredibly impressive given the level of dietary restrictions they accommodate. Every bite feels carefully balanced, soft, flavorful, and perfectly baked rather than dense or dry like many gluten-free options. You can tell that a lot of innovation and care has gone into developing recipes that recreate traditional bakery favorites while remaining completely inclusive. It’s a rare place where everyone can walk in and enjoy a proper bakery experience. Truly a gem in NYC and absolutely worth visiting.

I understand the bakery is new but they have Google hours listed as opening at 7am but when I got there they have a small sign on the door that says pastries don’t start coming out until 8am. So I came back at 8am and not everything was available so I came back again close to 9am when they FINALLY had everything on the menu for the day available for purchase. (That was definitely super annoying and for people with a tight schedule-plan accordingly!) I still remain a loyal customer even after that experience and had almost every item on the menu since they’ve opened. My top 3 choices would be the Kouign Amann, maple glaze blueberry scone & the cinnamon roll. Scone is great but unfortunately, it’s not consistent with the filling. In the 5 times I’ve ordered it, it was only filled with a good amount of blueberry twice. The experience is never the same, but the flavor is great. I personally love blueberry and for the price, it should have more than 3 blueberries. (Video of my Recent Experience attached)The combination of the raspberry and Yuzu in the Kouign Amann is stellar, and deserves more praise. cinnamon rolls in an air tight container are only good for up to 2 days before the texture starts changing but you can salvage it by heating them up. The biscuit I had recently was egg and cheese which was just okay, personally not worth the price even though it was big. Flavor was basic and the biscuit is super dry so have a drink ready. All and all it’s great for people who need allergen free baked goods

My first cinnamon roll in over 6 years and it did not disappoint!! The texture was so good my non-GF friends loved it too! I also tried their mushroom danish but didn’t like the mustard/dressing they used at all it was too sour for me but if they had any, I would try a different flavored danish. Anyways so grateful for a dedicated yet delicious gluten-free place!!
