What is worth choosing
When visiting Carlo's Bakery at Port Authority, the cannoli is undoubtedly the primary recommendation. These are the gold standard of the bakery, featuring a crisp, perfectly fried shell and a rich, velvety ricotta filling that stays true to its Italian roots. Many visitors find that taking a box of these back to their hotel or home is a highlight of their New York trip. The lobster tail—a flaky, multi-layered pastry filled with signature French cream—is another iconic choice that showcases the high level of technical skill involved in the Carlo's kitchen.
Beyond the solid pastries, the cappuccino is worth choosing for any coffee enthusiast. It is frequently praised for its authentic quality, avoiding the over-processed taste of many larger chains and instead offering a robust, traditional Italian coffee experience. For those looking for something to satisfy a late-night craving, the individual cake slices provide a variety of flavor profiles from classic chocolate to colorful specialty sponges. Choosing Carlo's Bakery means choosing a blend of celebrity culture and genuine artisanal quality; it is an experience that fulfills the expectations of fans while satisfying the palates of those simply looking for a premier dessert in Midtown Manhattan. Whether you are a long-time follower of Buddy Valastro or a commuter in need of a high-quality espresso, this 8th Avenue location delivers a consistently lovely stop that is definitely worth the visit.
In conclusion, Carlo's Bakery at 625 8th Avenue remains a significant pillar of the New York City dessert scene. It successfully manages to provide a "destination" experience within the functional environment of a bus terminal. Its combination of accessible transit links, authentic Italian flavors, and the undeniable charm of its brand makes it a top choice for anyone in the Manhattan region looking to indulge in a world-class pastry or a perfect cup of coffee.

Late night dessert on a Wednesday eve. A short line and a short wait. So fun to see! Loved the cannolis we took back to our hotel. Definitely worth the experience and wait if you’re visiting New York.

During my trip to New York, I visited this pastry shop and absolutely loved it. It was beautiful inside, and I truly felt like I had stepped into the TV show. The cappuccino was excellent, with a real Italian coffee quality: no surprise, since the owner is Italian. The location was cute, though everything is set in a single room with only a few indoor tables. Overall, a lovely stop and definitely worth a visit!

Stopped by Carlo’s Bakery in Times Square and had a cannoli—absolutely delicious! The shell was perfectly crisp and the filling was creamy, fresh, and not overly sweet. The atmosphere was fun and lively, and the location makes it a great stop while exploring the city. Definitely worth trying if you’re in the area and craving a classic Italian treat 🍰✨

I really thought I would love this place a little more than I did. My sugar cookie latte was cold even though I had just received it, and frankly it just tasted like milk. And its NYC, in winter, I want a warm drink to heat me up. I did enjoy the cookie butter cheesecake, it was really light and melted in my mouth almost like a mouse. The cannoli... eh I've had better it was a big dry and yes, I know i'm at a bakery but it was a sugar bomb literally. Customer service was okay, I did feel a little rushed by the worker taking my order, even without a line of people behind me. Was it a good experience yes, was it worth the $30 I spent on 3 items, no.
