Colombian Restaurant La Dulce Bakery Introduce
Nestled in the heart of one of the most diverse boroughs in the world, Colombian Restaurant La Dulce Bakery serves as a local hub for those seeking the specific, comforting flavors of South America. For New Yorkers living in or passing through the Richmond Hill and Jamaica areas, the bakery offers a sensory escape, greeting visitors with the unmistakable aroma of freshly baked goods and brewed beverages that are staples of Colombian culture.
The essence of Colombian Restaurant La Dulce Bakery lies in its dual identity. It is a place where the morning rush finds commuters grabbing a quick coffee and a "pan bono," while mid-day visitors might settle in for a more substantial meal. In a city that never sleeps, finding a spot that feels "clean, chill, and cool" is a priority for many locals. The atmosphere at La Dulce Bakery is designed to be welcoming, providing a relaxed environment where the staff is known for being friendly, even if a basic understanding of Spanish can sometimes enhance the communication experience. It represents a authentic slice of the Colombian diaspora, serving as a reminder of home for some and a delicious discovery for others.

What is worth choosing
When visiting Colombian Restaurant La Dulce Bakery, the primary draw for most locals is the impressive selection of Colombian breads. For anyone with a "sweet tooth" or a love for traditional baking, the variety is quite extensive. The "Pan de Bono" and "Buñuelos" are perennial favorites in any Colombian bakery, and here they serve as the perfect accompaniment to a morning coffee. These items are crafted to provide that specific balance of salty and sweet that defines Colombian pastry, and they are best enjoyed when they are fresh from the oven.
For those looking for a more substantial way to start their day, the breakfast and brunch options are highly recommended. These meals often feature traditional staples such as arepas, eggs, and specialized meats that provide a heavy, satisfying start to a busy New York day. While the bakery offers food for all times of day, the consensus among regular visitors is that the morning hours are when the establishment truly shines. The combination of a warm beverage and a savory bread item is often cited as the best way to utilize the menu.
In addition to the solid food items, the selection of beverages is worth exploring. Colombian culture has a deep relationship with coffee and fruit-based drinks, and La Dulce Bakery reflects this. Pairing a traditional pastry with a Colombian soda or a well-prepared coffee enhances the overall experience. It is important to note that while the bakery is a standout for its "tasty Colombian breads and treats," the establishment also offers rice and bean dishes for those seeking a full meal. For the best experience, focusing on the baked goods and the breakfast menu allows you to see the staff at their most efficient and the kitchen at its most creative. Whether you are stopping in for a quick "fuel up" or a slow brunch, this Jamaica Avenue staple provides a reliable taste of Colombia in the middle of Queens.

If I could give no stars I would. Rice was old and no good. I got it with beans and just ate the beans. I will never return. Please understand that reviews matter and if you serve distasteful food that is not fresh it will not help your business.

Clean, chill, cool. A great place for bread lovers and anyone with a bit of a sweet tooth. Though they have food for all times of day I find it’s a great place to start the day or have brunch. A variety of tasty Colombian breads, treat, and beverages. So delicious. Either way it’s a great place to fuel up. The atmosphere is good and the staff friendly staff. How’s your Spanish?

The beans were salty, the pan de bono was super greasy (oil was dripping from it), the chocolate was very sweet, the place is nice but the food isn't Colombian-style.

Expensive food, good service, bad food. Chocolate 👎 Cheese sticks 👎 Chorizo 👎 Empanadas 👎 Rice pudding 👎 Lunch options are just okay. Recommendation: Lower prices to attract customers and move stock. ✌️🇪🇨🇲🇽
