What is worth choosing
When you find yourself at Concourse Jamaican Bakery, there are a few items that are absolutely worth choosing above all else. First and foremost, you must try their patties and coco bread. Real customers consistently highlight that these items "are always good," providing a reliable and delicious experience every time. The tradition of sliding a hot beef patty inside a folded piece of buttery coco bread is a New York rite of passage, and this Morris Avenue location executes it perfectly. The flaky, savory nature of the patty combined with the soft sweetness of the bread creates a balance that is both satisfying and authentically Jamaican.
Beyond the snack items, it is highly worth choosing their "harddough" bread and bread pudding. Locals frequently mention that these are "the best" offerings in the shop. The bread pudding is a particular highlight for those with a sweet tooth, offering a dense, spiced, and comforting finish to any meal. While the bakery does offer cooked food like stew chicken, it is worth noting that their primary strength and fame lie in their baked goods. If you are ordering a full meal like the stew chicken with rice and peas, be prepared for an authentic home-style experience, though the bakery's true "claim to fame" remains its ovens. For the most consistent and celebrated experience, stick to the items that have made them a Bronx legend: the patties, the harddough bread, and the sweet bread pudding. Whether you are a regular or a first-timer, these staples are the reason Concourse Jamaican Bakery remains a vital destination in the New York Caribbean food scene.
Ultimately, a visit to 1189 Morris Avenue is about more than just food; it's about experiencing the resilience and richness of Bronx culture. By choosing Concourse Jamaican Bakery, you are supporting a local business that has mastered the difficult art of bringing traditional island flavors to the urban landscape of New York. From the first bite of a golden patty to the last crumb of their famous bread pudding, the quality and authenticity remain undeniable. For anyone in the New York region looking to satisfy a craving for real Jamaican baked goods, this is a destination that delivers the heart and soul of the Caribbean with every order.

The 3 is because the patties and coco bread are always good. Buttt... I ordered a large stew chicken w/ rice and peas as well and there was a whole fly 🪰 in my food. Besides that the stew chicken was good, but the rice had no flavor.

Tied for the best patty shop in the. Bronx. Never had their cooked food but I understand it's pretty decent. Always the bread pudding and harddough bread are the best!

I was so used to getting my authentic patties from uptown in the Bronx but ever since I moved near Yankee Stadium, I've been in search for a restaurant that served delicious patties. After extensive research and the taste test, I must admit that Concourse Jamaican Bakery has some of the most delicious patties I ever tasted and its a must to eat it with the coco bread! The first time I bought a patty, I ate it right there in the store and decided to buy another with coco bread prior to leaving haha. The women working there must have thought I was starving the way I demolished the patty but it really was tasty. I had a bit of trouble locating it at first because they recently moved locations but they changed the address on Google maps.
