As a classic New York neighborhood bakery and eatery, Marinell Bakery Corp. offers a unique blend of traditional baked goods and hearty, sit-down or take-out breakfast options that cater to the diverse needs of the local community. In a city where neighborhoods are defined by their corner shops, Marinell has maintained a consistent presence, becoming a familiar face for generations of Bronx residents.
The atmosphere at Marinell Bakery Corp. reflects the authentic energy of the Bronx—fast-paced, straightforward, and deeply rooted in community routine. It functions not just as a place to pick up a loaf of bread, but as a morning hub where locals gather for their first meal of the day. Whether you are a long-time regular who has been visiting for decades or a newcomer exploring the area, the bakery provides a sense of continuity. While the economic landscape of New York has shifted over time, leading to adjustments in pricing, the core offerings at Marinell remain focused on providing substantial portions and traditional flavors that resonate with the local palate.
Location and Accessibility are primary advantages for Marinell Bakery Corp. Situated at 264 E 167th St, New York, NY 10456, the bakery is strategically positioned near several key transit points. For New Yorkers relying on public transportation, the bakery is easily accessible via the B and D subway lines at the 167th St station, as well as the 4 train which stops nearby. This high level of connectivity makes it an ideal spot for commuters to grab a quick breakfast before heading into Manhattan or further into the Bronx. Additionally, multiple bus routes, including the Bx1, Bx2, and Bx35, serve the immediate vicinity, ensuring that the bakery remains a central point for those traveling within the borough. The street-level entrance is welcoming to pedestrians, though like much of this vibrant part of the Bronx, street parking can be limited during peak morning hours.

What is worth choosing at Marinell Bakery Corp. often comes down to the time of day and your specific needs. For the morning crowd, the breakfast special is the undisputed champion. Many regulars suggest choosing the scrambled eggs paired with beef sausage and their substantial serving of home fries. This meal typically comes with a toasted butter roll and your choice of coffee, tea, or juice. Even with local price adjustments—moving from a historical $6-$7 range to a more modern $9—the meal is still considered a solid value by long-time patrons due to the amount of food provided. It is a hearty, filling option that powers many Bronx residents through their workday.
When it comes to the bakery's dessert side, the strawberry shortcake is a frequent choice for birthdays. The whipped cream frosting is often highlighted as a standout feature for its flavor and light texture. However, shoppers should be mindful of the "freshness factor" when choosing a cake. Based on community feedback, it is highly recommended to confirm the bake date with the staff or place a custom order in advance rather than choosing a pre-made cake from the refrigerator to ensure the sponge maintains its moist, soft texture. Choosing Marinell Bakery Corp. means opting for a piece of Bronx history—a place where the coffee is hot, the butter rolls are toasted just right, and the community gathers to start their day. While it is a place of tradition, a discerning eye for the freshest items will ensure the best possible experience at this local landmark.
In summary, Marinell Bakery Corp. remains a vital part of the East 167th Street landscape. It offers a practical and factual slice of life in the Bronx, providing the fuel and the festivities that keep the neighborhood moving. Whether you are stopping in for your daily egg sandwich or ordering a cake for a loved one, you are participating in a local tradition that has defined this corner of New York for a very long time.

I have been going here for years. The prices went up but the service and food still remains the same. I get the scrambled eggs, Beef sausage and home fries. That also come with a toasted butter roll and juice, coffee or tea. The cost used to be $6 to $7 now it's $9. I still get the breakfast because it's good and you get a good serving on home fries n eggs but 1 piece of beef sausage.

I ordered a cake for Somebody’s birthday from this place, I order a strawberries shortcake. The topping taste good like the frosting. It was whipped cream to be exact, but the cake was old like it was in the refrigerator a couple of days already I have a short video to show you how it crumbles for being in the refrigerator for so long that will be my last time buying a cake from this place cause now I owe this person another cake

My mom got my birthday cake here last year and they did a amazing job.I only gave 4 stars because my mom asked for a chocolate moose cake and instead she got vanilla she also asked the strawberry to be covered in card candy but they covered it in still red jelly that tasted weird.
