Go Bagels Introduce
In the heart of Manhattan’s Upper East Side, the morning ritual is defined by the search for the perfect circular staple: the New York bagel. Go Bagels, frequently recognized by locals and visitors alike as a premier destination for this iconic treat, stands as a testament to the city's rich breakfast culture. Located on the bustling Lexington Avenue, this shop captures the essence of what a New York breakfast should be—simple, delicious, and deeply satisfying. Whether you are a lifelong resident or a traveler embarking on a culinary tour of the United States, this establishment provides a grounded and welcoming atmosphere that serves as a perfect introduction to the world of hand-rolled, kettle-boiled dough.
The shop is celebrated for its commitment to the foundational elements of bagel making. A true New York bagel is distinguished by its texture—a delicate balance where the exterior offers a slight, satisfying crispness while the interior remains soft and chewy. Go Bagels prides itself on maintaining these standards, ensuring that every batch pulled from the oven meets the high expectations of a neighborhood known for its discerning palate. The sensory experience begins the moment you approach the storefront, with the aromatic scent of toasted sesame, garlic, and fresh-brewed coffee wafting into the street, beckoning passersby to step inside and join the lively morning rush that characterizes the 10065 zip code.
Beyond the food itself, the shop offers a vibrant atmosphere that reflects the energy of Midtown Manhattan. It is a place where families can enjoy a memorable meal together and where solo commuters can grab a quick, high-quality bite before heading to the office. While the city is filled with competitive bagel scenes, Go Bagels distinguishes itself through its consistent service and an incredible variety of offerings. It serves not just as a bakery, but as a community hub situated among other amazing cafés, coffee roasters, and small businesses that contribute to the unique food culture of the region. For those looking to "dip their toes" into the authentic bagel scene, this shop provides a reliable and accessible entry point.
Location and Accessibility
Go Bagels is strategically located at 787 Lexington Ave, New York, NY 10065, USA. This prime location places it right in the flow of one of Manhattan’s most active corridors, making it exceptionally accessible for a diverse range of users. The shop is remarkably easy to reach via public transportation, which is a vital consideration for anyone navigating New York City. What is worth choosing
When visiting Go Bagels, the sheer variety of the menu can be delightfully overwhelming, but there are several standout items that are particularly worth choosing. For a quintessential experience, the everything bagel is a top-tier choice. The balance of seasonings is handled with care, providing that classic savory punch that New Yorkers crave. Pairing this with one of their specialty cream cheeses—which are noted for being impressively diverse—elevates the simple bagel into a gourmet morning treat. If you are looking for something more substantial, their hearty breakfast sandwiches are highly recommended. These are prepared to be filling and satisfying, making them the ideal fuel for a day of exploring the city or a long morning of meetings.
For those with dietary sensitivities, the gluten-free bagels are a significant highlight. It is rare to find a traditional bagel shop that offers a dedicated gluten-free option, and this inclusion allows a wider range of people to enjoy the textures and flavors of a New York breakfast. Additionally, do not overlook the coffee program. The coffee here is described as rich and aromatic, specifically designed to complement the dense and savory nature of the bagels. For a lighter option, the sesame bagel with a simple smear of plain cream cheese allows the quality of the dough and the traditional boiling process to truly shine. Whether you are opting for a classic lox and cream cheese assembly or a hot egg and cheese sandwich, choosing Go Bagels ensures a memorable, simple, and delicious meal that perfectly encapsulates the spirit of New York City.

Go Bagels Reviews

During our trip to New York City, one breakfast spot that truly stood out was Liberty Bagels Midtown, often referred to by visitors as “Go Bagels New York.” Famous for its authentic New York–style bagels, this place quickly became one of the best food stops we enjoyed as a family. What makes it so popular is the incredible variety and freshness. The bagels are perfectly baked — slightly crisp on the outside and soft, chewy inside. From classic everything and sesame to unique specialty flavors, there’s something for everyone. Their cream cheese selections and hearty breakfast sandwiches are equally impressive, making it the ideal place to grab a satisfying morning meal. Beyond bagels, the coffee is rich, aromatic, and pairs beautifully with the food. They also offer tasty snacks and light bites, perfect for a quick grab-and-go option before exploring the city. Being in New York, you’re also surrounded by other amazing cafés, coffee roasters, and small breweries nearby, adding to the vibrant food culture experience. Visiting with my family made it even more special. It was simple, delicious, and memorable — exactly what a New York breakfast should be.

Average bagels, but great service and atmosphere. For a New Yorker, I personally did not feel like the bagels stood out, but probably a great try for someone from out of town and interested in competitive prices and dipping their toes into the bagel scene. The texture more constant on the inside and outside of the bagel. Coffee was also average. There are gluten free options, which I did not try.

What a find! The Bagels our family ordered were delicious and wholly satisfying. We sampled a few cream cheeses before ordering. To top it off the customer service was (and is) superb 😀😀. Quick ordering and turn around. Highly recommended.

They bake their own bagels and it comes thru as so fresh. Their texture of the bagel is just right. So many filings and the range of cream cheese is amazing.

Ordered from here for the first time and got the vegan breakfast sandwich with some additions.. it tasted great although I wish the bagel was a bit softer to chew, but that’s just my own personal preference lol. I ordered a hash brown and ended up with four so that’s cool. Everything tasted great and it hit the spot.
