Laisla Bakery Introduce
In the vibrant heart of the Bronx, where the energy of the city meets the rich cultural tapestry of its residents, local bakeries serve as more than just shops—they are community landmarks. Laisla Bakery, situated prominently on Westchester Avenue, is one such establishment that has become a point of conversation for those living and working in the 10472 zip code. For New Yorkers looking for a quick bite, a traditional pastry, or a savory meal on the go, understanding what a local spot like Laisla Bakery offers is essential to navigating the borough’s diverse culinary landscape.
Laisla Bakery represents the classic New York neighborhood "panaderia" style, blending the sweet aromas of fresh dough with the savory scents of hot prepared foods. In a city where time is the most valuable currency, having a local spot that provides both breakfast staples and hearty afternoon snacks is a convenience many Bronx residents rely on. Whether you are a long-time local or someone passing through the Soundview area, this bakery offers a window into the everyday food culture of the neighborhood, providing a variety of items that reflect the tastes of the community.
Location and Accessibility are key factors for any business in New York City, and Laisla Bakery benefits from a highly accessible position. Located at 1522 Westchester Ave, Bronx, NY 10472, the bakery is positioned along one of the borough's busiest thoroughfares. This makes it an easy stop for those utilizing the nearby public transportation options, particularly the 6 train, which runs along the elevated tracks above Westchester Avenue. For pedestrians walking through the area, the storefront is easily identifiable and sits within a bustling commercial strip, surrounded by other local services and retail shops, making it a natural stop during a day of errands.
The accessibility extends beyond its physical location to its hours of operation, catering to the early risers of the Bronx who need a coffee and a pastry before their morning commute, as well as those looking for a late-afternoon refuel. While parking in this area of the Bronx can follow the typical challenges of New York City street parking, the high volume of foot traffic and proximity to transit hubs ensures that Laisla Bakery remains a convenient destination for the local population.
Services Offered at Laisla Bakery encompass a wide range of culinary needs, moving beyond simple bread production to include full meal options. The establishment functions as a hybrid between a traditional bakery and a quick-service eatery. Some of the primary services include:
- In-store shopping for fresh bread, rolls, and assorted pastries.
- Counter service for hot, prepared savory dishes and Latin-inspired snacks.
- Takeout services for customers looking to enjoy their meals at home or the office.
- Early morning breakfast service featuring hot beverages and light bites.
- Lunch and afternoon meal options, including meat-based dishes and side portions.
Features / Highlights of the bakery provide a closer look at what defines the experience for a visitor. While every local business has its own unique character, Laisla Bakery is noted for several specific attributes that characterize its daily operations:
- A diverse selection of traditional baked goods that cater to the local Hispanic community and beyond.
- Specialty savory items such as Salchipapas (a popular street food consisting of thinly sliced pan-fried beef sausages and french fries).
- A variety of rice-based dishes and protein options available at the hot food counter.
- A central location in the Soundview/Morrison Avenue section of the Bronx.
- An informal, casual atmosphere suitable for quick transactions and grab-and-go dining.
Contact Information for those looking to visit or inquire about daily specials is as follows. The bakery is located at 1522 Westchester Ave, Bronx, NY 10472, USA. For direct communication regarding orders or availability, customers typically visit the storefront in person to view the freshest items of the day, as the selection of baked goods can vary based on the time of arrival.
When considering What is worth choosing at Laisla Bakery, the focus often lands on their savory prepared foods and traditional breads. The bakery is known for its ability to produce classic items that resonate with the local palate. Many visitors gravitate toward the hot counter, where the Salchipapas are a frequent choice, offering a filling and salty treat that serves as a staple of Latin American fast food. Additionally, the rice and chicken dishes provide a more substantial meal for those looking for a traditional lunch option.
However, it is important for potential visitors to manage their expectations regarding service and consistency. Like many busy urban bakeries, the experience at Laisla Bakery can vary. Some patrons have noted that while the food itself can be flavorful and satisfying, the customer service experience may not always meet every individual's standards. There have been recorded instances where customers felt the service was rushed or that administrative tasks, such as providing receipts or managing refunds, were not handled with the highest level of professionalism. Issues such as order accuracy and food temperature are factors that diners should be aware of when visiting.
Furthermore, attention to detail regarding food preparation is something the establishment continues to work on. Reports of inconsistencies in portion sizes compared to pricing have been mentioned by the local community, suggesting that customers should be clear and communicative with staff when placing their orders to ensure they receive exactly what they expect. Despite these operational hurdles, the bakery remains a popular choice for those who prioritize the specific flavors and convenience that this Westchester Avenue staple provides.
For the Bronx local, Laisla Bakery represents a slice of the neighborhood's daily life. It is a place where you can find the familiar tastes of home or discover a new favorite snack while navigating the busy streets of the city. While the service may reflect the fast-paced and sometimes blunt nature of New York City commerce, the core offering—the food—remains the primary draw. Whether you are stopping in for a quick loaf of bread or a tray of fries and sausage, Laisla Bakery stands as a testament to the enduring presence of local, independent food spots in the ever-changing landscape of the Bronx.
In conclusion, Laisla Bakery offers a factual representation of a Bronx neighborhood eatery. It provides essential food services to the 10472 community, balancing the sweet with the savory. While it faces the challenges common to high-traffic urban businesses—such as maintaining consistent service quality and rigorous attention to customer feedback—it remains a notable part of the Westchester Avenue corridor. For those in the area, it offers a chance to support a local business while enjoying the traditional flavors that make New York’s bakery scene so diverse and unique.

I am writing this review to express my dissatisfaction with the service I have received at this establishment on several occasions. Although the food is good, I have experienced several issues that have led me to question the quality of service and the integrity of your business. First, on a previous occasion, I purchased food from your establishment and upon opening the package, I noticed that the food was spoiled, specifically that it was “expired.” This was especially concerning since I had purchased the food the same day. Also, on another occasion, your establishment overcharged me, specifically $10-12 more than I was supposed to pay. Although I was offered a free plate on the next visit as compensation, I was not given my money back and it seemed like an attempt to justify the mistake. Recently, I visited your establishment again and ordered a Salchipapa. However, I was told that there were no sausages and that they could only give me the potatoes. I agreed and paid, but was surprised to be given a small plate, different from the one given to a lady who purchased before me. I was also denied a receipt for payment, claiming that I should have asked for it. However, I believe it is the business's obligation to give it to me without me asking. Overall, I have noticed that the quality of service and integrity of this business has declined over time. While the food is good, the service and customer service are poor. In short, I would give your establishment a 2 star rating. The food is good, but the service and customer service are poor. I hope you take steps to address these issues and improve the quality of service at this establishment.

HORRIBLE experience! I found a longg black hair in the middle of my rice . Not to mention the chicken was EXTREMELY salty ! I contacted the restaurant to inform them and I was put on hold and got the phone hung up on me . I called back , an the woman on the phone was extremely rude and said to take up with the boss tomorrow because she is closing in 10 mins . Super unprofessional, this place will never get a dollar out of me again !
