I was nostalgic and decided to go back to this bakery I remembered enjoying going to while living in Bushwick when I was younger and was left disappointed. From reading other reviews it seems like it is the store owner’s nature but regardless you do not want to go buy bread and then be scolded for choosing a mobile receipt over a physical one. In summary, the man in the front who is older, and I’m assuming the owner, angrily stated that he wants to give me the printed one to protect himself so I can’t go saying he’s scamming me and to protect me from getting scammed by him. I’m assuming he does not know this but the mobile receipt has a link to take you to exactly what the printed receipt would look like, so I’d have it right there if he did try to. I told him I understand that he may have had that issue with other customers previously but he can learn how to approach his issues in a manner that’s respectful to the customer and well a stranger. To make it worse, he also did not take off the glove he was using to make a breakfast sandwich for his employee and I did not see it till he turned the machine to pay towards me. He continued on with the same glove as he was arguing with me and saying he just talks like that and he didn’t do anything wrong. I told him to have the day he deserves and I think it’s going to be like that for him everyday with that attitude he has. Oh and the bread was extremely hard and it took us some time to just find 4 pieces of soft bread that we could buy. Just go to El Charro:/ - Cindy Delgado

Los Florencio Inc Introduce

In the bustling neighborhood of Bushwick, Brooklyn, where the elevated tracks of the M train cast long shadows over Myrtle Avenue, lies Los Florencio Inc. This establishment serves as a traditional anchor for the local community, operating as an authentic Mexican bakery that doubles as a specialty grocery store. For New Yorkers living in the 11237 zip code, Los Florencio Inc offers a direct connection to the flavors and essential products of Mexico. It is a place where the air is often filled with the scent of yeast and sugar, and the shelves are lined not just with bread, but with a variety of imported goods that are staples in Mexican households. For many, this bakery represents a nostalgic touchstone, a place that has remained part of the neighborhood fabric through years of urban change.

As a professional content writer specializing in the New York market, it is important to provide a balanced and factual overview of local establishments. Los Florencio Inc is characterized by its unpretentious, old-school atmosphere. It is the type of local business where the owner is often present at the front, and the service reflects a direct, straightforward Brooklyn sensibility. While the experience at such a long-standing neighborhood spot can vary, its identity as a "Panaderia" remains clear. It provides a unique hybrid experience where one can pick up a fresh "concha" for breakfast and simultaneously shop for authentic meats and personal care items imported from Mexico. This multifunctionality makes it a convenient, one-stop shop for many residents who are looking for specific cultural items that large-chain supermarkets often fail to stock.

Location and Accessibility

Los Florencio Inc is located at 1479 Myrtle Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11237, USA. Its position on Myrtle Avenue makes it exceptionally accessible for those living in or commuting through Northern Brooklyn. The bakery is situated near the intersection of several major neighborhood arteries, making it easy to find for those traveling on foot or by bicycle. For users of the New York City Subway, the bakery is conveniently located near the Knickerbocker Avenue station (M train) and is within walking distance of the Myrtle-Wyckoff Avenues transit hub (L and M trains). This high level of connectivity allows residents from across the borough to reach the shop with ease.

The storefront is typical of the Bushwick commercial corridor, featuring a functional layout that maximizes space for both the bakery counters and the grocery aisles. While the area is high-traffic and bustling, the bakery itself is a quick-service destination, primarily designed for customers to pick up their items and continue with their day. As is common with many older establishments in this part of New York, there is no dedicated parking lot, so those driving should be prepared to navigate street parking. The accessibility of the location, combined with its long-standing presence, ensures that it remains a familiar landmark for the local population and those passing through the vibrant Bushwick streetscape.

What is worth choosing

For those visiting Los Florencio Inc for the first time, the primary draw is undoubtedly the selection of traditional Mexican "Pan Dulce." The "Conchas" are a quintessential choice, recognized by their signature seashell-patterned sugar topping and light, airy texture. These are perfect when enjoyed fresh in the morning. Another highlight is the "Payasitos," which are beloved for their colorful appearance and traditional flavor. When browsing the bread bins, savvy local customers recommend taking the time to feel for the softest pieces to ensure you are getting the freshest bake of the day, as textures can vary depending on the time of your visit.

Beyond the bakery case, the meat and dairy section is highly worth choosing for those looking to cook authentic Mexican meals at home. The "Cecina" (thinly sliced salted beef) and "Chorizo" are noted for their authenticity and are excellent for tacos or breakfast scrambles. Additionally, the "Quesillo" (Oaxacan-style string cheese) offered here provides that perfect melt and salty tang that is difficult to replicate with standard grocery store cheeses. For many shoppers, the ability to pick up these specialty proteins along with a fresh loaf of bread is what makes Los Florencio Inc a valuable neighborhood resource. Finally, don't overlook the personal care aisle; if you are looking for specific imports like "Pomada de la Campana," this bakery is one of the few places in the area where such traditional items are consistently stocked.

When shopping at Los Florencio Inc, it is helpful to keep in mind the old-school nature of the establishment. The management often prefers traditional methods, such as providing printed receipts to ensure transaction transparency. Engaging with the staff in a respectful and patient manner typically yields the best results in this quintessential Brooklyn environment. Whether you are there for the nostalgia, a fresh concha, or specific Mexican grocery needs, Los Florencio Inc remains a factual piece of the Bushwick story, offering products and flavors that have served the community for years.
