Somedays Bakery - Bayside Introduce
In the quiet yet sophisticated neighborhood of Bayside, Queens, a new culinary landmark has emerged that bridges the gap between traditional French pastry techniques and modern American creativity. Somedays Bakery, located within the prominent Bay Terrace Shopping Center, has quickly become a sensation for local foodies and social media enthusiasts alike. Founded by a team of visionary entrepreneurs, including the founders of the famous Chip City Cookies, Somedays Bakery brings an elevated, boutique experience to the suburban landscape of Northeast Queens. While many bakeries in the city focus on high-volume production, Somedays prides itself on an artisanal, small-batch philosophy where everything is made from scratch on-site every single day. There are no frozen doughs or shipped goods here; the aroma of New Zealand butter and fresh-baked yeast is the first thing that greets you as you walk through the door.
The bakery's aesthetic is as refined as its menu, featuring a calming and soothing interior that offers a brief escape from the urban hustle. For Bayside residents, it has transitioned from a "viral TikTok spot" to a reliable community staple for morning commutes, weekend brunches, and special treats. The hospitality is a core pillar of the experience, with owners and staff who are noted for their attentiveness and passion for the craft. Whether you are stopping in for a quick espresso or seeking a centerpiece for a family gathering, Somedays Bakery provides a professional yet warm environment that feels like a special occasion with every visit.

What is worth choosing:
When visiting Somedays Bakery, the item that truly defines their expertise is the Black Sesame Tahini Pain Au Chocolat. This pastry is a masterclass in balance; the nutty, earthy depth of the tahini and black sesame perfectly complements the rich chocolate without being overly sweet. It is a sophisticated choice for those who appreciate complex flavor profiles. For a more indulgent sweet treat, the Triple Chocolate Pain Suisse is a chocolate lover's dream, featuring chocolate-infused dough and a smooth pastry cream filling that remains light and airy despite its richness.
If you prefer a savory start to your day, the Spinach and Ricotta Swirl is highly recommended by regulars. It is a substantial, filling pastry that combines creamy cheese with fresh herbs and a hint of chili flakes for a subtle kick. Another savory highlight is the Cheddar Pretzel Twist, which comes with signature dips like smoky paprika yogurt, making it a perfect mid-day snack. To wash it all down, the Iced Matcha Latte is a standout—whisked to a smooth consistency that pairs beautifully with any of the buttery laminated goods. For those looking for a larger dessert, the "Beast Cake"—a deep cocoa sponge soaked in rum syrup—offers a decadent "unapologetic" indulgence that has earned it a loyal following. No matter your preference, coming prepared for a "splurge" is key; while the prices reflect the premium ingredients and labor-intensive process, the quality and the personal attention from the staff make it a standout experience in the Queens bakery scene. Would you like me to check the current rotating seasonal specials or help you look up the best times to visit to avoid the weekend rush?

Was so excited to finally try this bakery that I've seen all over tiktok and safe to say, it was so worth the hype. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere and hospitality were on point. The pastries looked like works of art and tbh, I wanted to try 1 of each but I settled for 2. Tried the spinach and ricotta swirl and the triple chocolate pain suisse. Also got an iced matcha latte. Everything was delicious and quite filling! The owner was so kind and attentive, it definitely made our visit that much better. Will definitely return with friends and family!

I had a mixed but overall pleasant experience at Somedays Bakery in Bayside. The Black Sesame Tahini Pain Au Chocolat really stood out to me. There’s only a small amount of chocolate inside, so it doesn’t overpower the pastry, and the black sesame and tahini flavors come through beautifully. Tahini, made from ground sesame seeds, adds a rich, slightly nutty depth. The pastry wasn’t overly sweet and had a very unique, well-balanced flavor that I truly enjoyed. The Honeynut Cheesecake Danish, however, was a bit too sweet for my personal taste. The chocolate flavor was quite strong, so the cheesecake and honeynut notes were harder for me to notice. It may still be enjoyable for those who prefer sweeter desserts, just not my preference. Overall, Somedays Bakery offers some very creative and high-quality pastries. I would definitely come back for the black sesame item and to try more of their other flavors.

I’ve been to the LIC location before but this was my first time at the Bayside location. I went at around 5:30 PM, but they still had a good amount of selections available. The owner greeted me and was very kind and welcoming. I was hoping they had the blueberry bun but they didn’t have it. I got the spinach and ricotta swirled pastry, chocolate chunk cookie, and the beauty cake (lemon curd and blueberry cream or ganache). The owner also offered me the potato and onion focaccia to try on the house, which was so kind of him! The only thing I didn’t get a picture of was the chocolate chunk cookie; I shared that with my kids in the car and it was a solid cookie. The potato and onion focaccia actually happened to be my favorite of what I got, but their croissants that I’ve tried before as well as the spinach and ricotta pastry are also very good. The lamination on the croissants is excellent! Overall, great place for pastries. They need to open a location on Long Island!

TLDR: Bayside gets another solid baked goods purveyor. The tahini croissant and presently the Basque cheesecake are bonkers. I'd heard about Somedays Bakery for awhile but never got around to it until they opened in Bayside. There's already French and Martha's but a good addition is always welcome. It's small inside but very clean and nice, reminds you of French Workshop but smaller. Pastry-wise, I liked what I've tried here so far. The pistachio Basque burnt cheesecake ATM is my favorite. The top is so delicate but the middle is incredibly creamy - as it should be. Most recently also tried the chocolate tahini croissant, the cookies and all were very good. Nice to be able to switch up from the usual French/Martha's combos. They do have some savory items that I'd like to try one day if I'm around during lunch time.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review for Somedays Bakery We stopped by here last Saturday while heading back to Long Island after spending the day in Queens, and we’re so glad we did. This café is super cute, and we really enjoyed their pastries. They have a great mix of sweet and savory options, and everything we tried was delicious. The staff was friendly and the service was good, which made the stop even better. If you’re near Bayside, this spot is definitely worth checking out. We loved their pastries and would happily come back again. 🥐✨
