Stephanie's Bakery Corporation Introduce
In the heart of Corona, Queens, Stephanie's Bakery Corporation stands as a testament to the evolving culinary landscape of New York City. What began as a traditional neighborhood spot for authentic Mexican breads has matured into a multifaceted food destination. Over the years, the establishment has shifted its focus to accommodate the growing appetite of the local community, expanding from a bakery counter into a robust kitchen operation. Today, when you step through the doors at 108th Street, you are greeted not just by the sweet, yeasty aroma of fresh pastries, but by the savory scents of home-style Mexican cooking that have made this location a staple for residents seeking a taste of Mexico in the borough of Queens.
The transformation of Stephanie's Bakery Corporation reflects a common success story in New York’s immigrant-driven food scene. As the bakery’s back-kitchen offerings gained popularity, the physical space adapted, adding more seating and a comprehensive menu that rivals many local sit-down restaurants. Despite its growth, the shop maintains its roots; the front of the store remains dedicated to the traditional Mexican breads that first put it on the map. This unique hybrid of a bakery and a restaurant provides a casual, welcoming atmosphere where locals can grab a morning coffee and pan dulce or sit down for a heavy, satisfying lunch.

What is worth choosing
If you are visiting Stephanie's Bakery Corporation for the first time, you must start where the bakery began: the bread. The conchas are a highlight, perfectly capturing the soft texture and traditional sweetness that pair beautifully with a hot chocolate or coffee. These are prominently displayed at the front, making them an easy and essential pick-up. For many New Yorkers, a fresh concha from a local panaderia is a simple but profound comfort food, and Stephanie’s does it with practiced expertise.
For those looking for a full meal, the chorizo tacos are widely considered a "winner" by regular diners. The chorizo is noted for being superb—well-seasoned and flavorful without being overly greasy. To elevate the experience, it is highly recommended to ask the staff to make your tortillas fresh on the spot. This small addition makes a significant difference in the quality and authenticity of the meal. The tacos are large and filling, making them a popular choice for a substantial lunch or dinner.
Additionally, the steam table shouldn't be overlooked. While the fixed menu is reliable, the daily specials are where the kitchen's creativity shines. In particular, dishes like the cecina en salsa verde (salted beef in green sauce) are frequently praised for their authentic preparation and depth of flavor. These specials represent the "home-cooked" feel that defines the restaurant side of the business. However, as with any local favorite, it is always wise to double-check your bill during busy hours to ensure accuracy, as the fast-paced environment can occasionally lead to confusion at the register. Overall, whether you are there for a quick sweet treat or a heavy plate of cecina, Stephanie's offers a genuine slice of Mexican culinary culture in the heart of Corona.

MÉXICO 🇲🇽 Eat the World NYC review: Stephanie's has the definite look of a place that has altered its format over the years. Once focusing on Mexican breads, a kitchen opened up in the back and became popular with the neighborhood. As happens, this operation became more profitable and the room made for it in the store expanded. Now Stephanie's almost seems like a restaurant, with plenty of tables and a good-sized menu. Walking in the door still affords the wonderful smells of breads like these conchas which are all placed in the front. Swipe through digitally or walk through in person and grab a seat. Tacos here are large and come in portions of three, and if you ask nicely they will make your tortillas fresh on the spot! The winner of this visit was their superb chorizo, shown in the third photo. A tidy menu is posted on the steam table with everyday offerings, but it was also noticed that many of the customers were ordering the daily specials that are freshly made and ready to order on the steam table. On this day, the cecina en salsa verde looked especially tempting.

Leaving 2 stars for the lady that tried to tell me I was lying about what I ate and tried to double charge me for a plate of food and a soda. The food is great I used to work close to the restaurant and decided to come back after 2 years because I know the food is good. man was I disappointed after I enjoyed my meal and this lady which I’m sure is the owner tried to tell me i lied about what I ate. Not coming back here and if anyone does eat here make sure you check what you’re getting charged for !

Absolutely an amazing place to eat at! The breads are so delicious and are even better when fresh. The amount of Mexican foods is amazing and really makes me feel at home.

Best “taco joint” in the neighborhood. I normally grab to go but you can sit and usually catch a soccer game and enjoy your food. They have daily specials that are also exceptional with classics like quesadillas, rice, beans, etc. Has a robust Mexican bread array where you can find classics like croissants, or muffins. The Mexican groceries are real. They have kinder eggs. I come here for the amazingly consistent tacos, good prices on spices, and daily food specials.
