U Best Bakery Introduce
The culinary landscape of Flushing, Queens, is one of the most competitive and diverse in New York City, particularly when it comes to the art of baking. U Best Bakery has recently expanded its footprint in this vibrant neighborhood, bringing its signature flavors to a new, spacious location. As a brand that has already built a reputation among local dessert enthusiasts, this new branch represents the continued growth of the Asian bakery scene in the New York region. For residents and visitors navigating the bustling streets of Flushing, the arrival of a familiar name provides a sense of continuity and a new destination to explore for traditional and experimental treats alike.
U Best Bakery is perhaps most famous for its viral and nostalgic "White Rabbit" roll cake, a dessert that pays homage to the classic creamy candy familiar to many who grew up in Asian households. This specific specialty has helped the bakery stand out in a sea of competitors, drawing in a crowd specifically looking for that unique, milky flavor profile. The brand positions itself as a modern yet traditional Chinese-style bakery, offering a wide array of buns, breads, and elaborate cakes. Whether you are looking for a quick breakfast on the go or planning a large family celebration, U Best Bakery seeks to serve the diverse needs of the Flushing community from its newly established home on Maple Avenue.
Location and Accessibility
The bakery is situated at 136-18 Maple Ave, Flushing, NY 11355, USA. This specific address places the establishment slightly away from the intense congestion of Main Street, offering a more relaxed atmosphere for those who find the heart of downtown Flushing a bit overwhelming. Being located on Maple Avenue means it is nestled in a predominantly residential area, which provides a quieter environment and easier access for local neighbors. This shift away from the primary commercial hubs means there is generally less foot traffic on the block, making it a convenient "hidden gem" for those who live in the immediate vicinity.
Accessibility is straightforward for those familiar with the Queens transit system. While it is tucked away in a residential pocket, it remains within walking distance of the various bus routes that serve the Flushing area and is a reasonable distance from the 7 train terminus. The interior of the bakery is notably spacious, providing a sense of openness that is often rare in smaller New York storefronts. However, visitors should be aware that while the space is large, only about half of the area is currently utilized for bakery operations and seating, with the back half remaining open. For those looking to sit and enjoy their purchase, there is minimal seating available, suggesting that the bakery is primarily designed for quick stops or take-out orders.

What is worth choosing
For anyone visiting U Best Bakery for the first time, the clear choice is the White Rabbit roll cake. It is the item that put the bakery on the map and continues to be the primary draw for foodies across New York. The cake is designed to be visually appealing and offers a unique taste that differentiates it from the standard sponge cakes found elsewhere. It is a perfect example of the bakery's ability to innovate within the framework of traditional Asian sweets. Additionally, for those who frequent the area, signing up for the VIP program is a smart move. While there is a $20 prepayment requirement, it grants access to highly affordable coffee prices, which is a great perk for local residents who enjoy a daily hot coffee with their morning pastry.
However, when it comes to ordering large-scale celebratory cakes, such as two-tier birthday cakes, customers are advised to manage their expectations or provide very specific instructions to the staff. Real-world feedback has indicated that while the cakes can look "amazing" on the outside with high-quality decoration, the consistency of the cake base and the freshness of fruit fillings can sometimes vary. If you are planning an important event, it may be beneficial to sample their smaller cake slices first to ensure the flavor and texture meet your specific preferences. The bakery is known for its "Wow" factor in terms of presentation, but like many high-volume establishments, checking in on the specific ingredients used for the day's bakes can ensure your celebration goes off without a hitch. Overall, for those looking for a spacious place to grab a signature roll cake or a budget-friendly coffee in a quiet part of Flushing, U Best Bakery is a noteworthy stop in the New York bakery circuit.
In conclusion, U Best Bakery on Maple Avenue represents the ongoing evolution of the Flushing food scene. It brings a mix of viral sensations and neighborhood convenience to a quieter part of the borough. While every bakery in New York has its strengths and areas for growth, the unique offerings and spacious new location make it a business worth watching as it settles into its new home. For a taste of the "White Rabbit" or a peaceful coffee break, this local establishment provides a distinctly Flushing experience that is both modern and rooted in the flavors of the community.

It was my child’s birthday, and I really wanted everything to be perfect. I used to order from another bakery, but since they closed down, I decided to give this place a try because my husband’s friend recommended it. I even ordered a two-tier cake since we had many friends coming, and I was really looking forward to it. When I first saw the cake, I thought, “Wow, it looks amazing!” But the taste was extremely disappointing. The fruits were not fresh at all—very sour—and the cake base itself was hard and just unpleasant to eat. I’ve bought cakes for birthdays and holidays many times before, and honestly, this was the worst cake I’ve ever had. Thankfully, my guests were all close friends and didn’t make a big deal out of it, but for me, it really ruined part of the celebration. I did give feedback to the bakery, but their response was just, “We’ll let the baker know, hope you come back next time.” Sorry, but I will never buy from this bakery again. Truly disappointing!

U Best, known for their infamous white rabbit roll cake has opened a new location on Maple Ave. . It’s pretty spacious inside but it only occupies half of the entire space. The back half is empty. . There is minimal seating at this bakery. There’s not much foot traffic on the block, it’s mainly residential, so it’s good for them.. . They currently have a promotion, coffee for $1. But there’s a catch. I’m gonna try my best to explain how you get coffee for $1 base on what the cashier told me. You must be part of their VIP program. You then need to prepay $20 and with that, you can purchase the coffee for $1, which is normally for $1.75 and limited to 2 per day. Looks like it’s for their hot coffee. The promotion ends 10/31/24… I thought you can just walk in and buy a coffee for $1… glad I asked… . Not that Flushing needs any more bakeries, but I’m happy to see Flushing thriving with new openings. Congrats and good luck!!!

Had to order a birthday cake and the attendant Sophia was incredibly helpful and spoke excellent English and Chinese. Was so honest and thoughtful with sizing and decoration recommendations. Very happy with the cake and service.

Ordered a cake for 100 day celebration. Many choices and we went with the retro style cake and it was gorgeous and very tasty. The cake was three tiers and each tier was its own flavor: matcha, chocolate, and vanilla. They offered delivery to our restaurant for a small fee which is amazing.

The sesame bread was really good. However I judge a bakery mostly on their cream and rolls since this is the base of most of their baked goods, and I have to say this was the worst. I probably got a bad matcha roll or something bc it can't be their normal roll. I have been to a lot of bakeries, but the cream was obviously fake in what I had, which would have been fine, but the cake part tasted like it had gone bad 3 days ago. It was not sweet, which is great, I don't like really sweet cake but this was just terrible. I also noticed that the baked goods in here were much more expensive than other places I have been. Their min for card is lower than most tho which is good.
