Wildcraft Baking Company Introduce
Introduction / Overview
For those navigating the challenges of a gluten-free lifestyle in the New York metropolitan area, Wildcraft Baking Company is far more than just a local bakery—it is a sanctuary of culinary integrity. Located in the picturesque village of Irvington, nestled along the Hudson River, this establishment has redefined what it means to bake without gluten. Founded by Brittany Vellucci and Michael Ridd, both alumni of the prestigious Culinary Institute of America (CIA), Wildcraft is built on a philosophy of "foraging" for unique, high-quality ingredients that yield superior textures and flavors. Unlike many bakeries that simply offer gluten-free "alternatives," Wildcraft is a 100% dedicated gluten-free facility, ensuring absolute safety for those with Celiac disease or severe gluten sensitivities.
The magic of Wildcraft lies in its founders' commitment to innovation. By incorporating fresh fruits, vegetables, and ancient grains like organic buckwheat into their recipes, they have managed to recreate the nostalgia of traditional baking. Customers often remark that they cannot even tell the products are gluten-free, noting that the items remind them of "how things used to taste." From award-winning granolas to phenomenal pastries and savory dinner rolls, every item produced in their sunlight-filled industrial shop reflects a blend of classical training and creative experimentation. It is a community staple that has earned a die-hard following among Rivertown foodies and health-conscious New Yorkers alike.
Location and Accessibility
Wildcraft Baking Company is situated at 1 Bridge St #100, Irvington, NY 10533, USA. This location is part of the historic Bridge Street Properties, a beautifully repurposed industrial complex overlooking the Hudson River. The bakery is tucked away behind the Irvington Metro-North train station, making it an incredibly convenient stop for commuters on the Hudson Line. For those traveling from Manhattan or elsewhere in Westchester, the short walk from the platform to the bakery door is rewarded with the scent of fresh espresso and warming spices.
Accessibility is a key feature of the Bridge Street community. While the shop itself is cozy and designed for a "grab-and-go" experience—featuring a large glass window where patrons can watch the bakers at work—the surrounding area offers scenic spots to enjoy your treats. Parking is available within the complex and along nearby streets, though it can become limited during the busy weekend morning rush. The facility is ground-level and accessible to all visitors. For those who live outside of the immediate New York area, the owners have been known to ship their famous granolas and select dry goods, ensuring that the Wildcraft experience isn't limited by geography.

What is worth choosing
If you are visiting Wildcraft for the first time, the Cinnamon Buns are widely considered "spectacular" and are a top priority for any order. These buns manage to achieve a gooey, soft consistency that is notoriously difficult to replicate in gluten-free baking. Another must-try is their Egg Sandwich, served on savory, veggie-flecked scones that offer a biscuit-like texture far superior to standard rolls. For those who want to take a piece of the bakery home, the Brioche and Dinner Rolls are frequently cited as the "best GF items" customers have ever had, making them perfect for family dinners or holiday gatherings.
Don't leave without trying their seasonal muffins—the pumpkin, chia, and matcha varieties are particularly popular for their unique flavor profiles and moist crumb. If you are looking for a snack that lasts, the Roots and Seeds Granola is worth every penny of its award-winning status. Finally, for a specialized beverage, try the Iced London Fog made with Calabrian bergamot oil. Whether you are a local resident or a visitor stopping by an hour before closing, be sure to ask for Mike or the team to see what fresh treats are coming out of the oven. Choosing Wildcraft isn't just a dietary choice; it's a choice for superior flavor and artisanal quality that happens to be safe for everyone.

100% GF Celiac Safe! Stopped in about an hour prior to closing so some items were sold out. Ordered a couple things and tried them in the shop, thank goodness because I was able to then order three times more! Seriously the best GF items I’ve ever had, it reminded me of how things use to taste. We had their pumpkin, chia and macha muffins, chocolate chip cookie, brioche and dinner rolls (wow!) plus a couple other items. I’m visiting from Florida and cannot wait to return. When leaving, Mike provided his number and said they are willing to ship stuff too!

Totally gluten free and celiac safe, everything I tried was delicious and the gentleman behind the counter was so kind, he gave me some free tasters and I found some extra treats in my bag when I got home!

I have to come back and give them 5 more stars, because this is the best gluten free food I've had by far. Their chicken sandwich is delicious, pastries are phenomenal, and their PIZZA - SO good! You cannot even tell these items are gluten free, they are simply delicious all around. Mike and his team are very talented! So glad I found this spot.

I LOVED this cafe/bakery! I’m not sure what I was expecting when I read the baked goods were GF b/c I’m not GF but holyyy—their baked goods are SO good! I also had their chai (I’m a tea drinker) and I’ve got to say, though it wasn’t spicy like I like it, it was so flavorful! Also, the prices were listed EVERYWHERE! The commitment to transparency alone makes me want to come back here lol. The only con was that there wasn’t a lot of seating options from what I could see so just be prepared for that. Overall, will 1000% be coming back here!
