What is worth choosing
If you are stepping into Aloaf Bakery Cafe for the first time, there is one item that comes with a 13-year seal of approval from regular patrons: the Almond Danish. This pastry is a masterclass in texture and flavor, featuring a perfectly flaky exterior and a rich, sweet almond filling that has made it a legendary choice in East Harlem. It pairs perfectly with their "consistently good coffee," making for a quintessential New York breakfast that doesn't break the bank. My favorite bakery in East Harlem. I've been coming here for 13 years. Friendly, hard-working staff, delicious pastries made on site, consistently good coffee, and a nice reprieve after getting off a tumultuous ride on the 6 train. I don't think they've raised prices in 13 years. Highly recommend the almond danish!

All of the workers here are incredibly kind, thoughtful, and sweet. Every day I walk in, I am greeted with a smile and an attentive server. They’re incredibly fast too! Even with a line, I am able to get breakfast and catch the train within 5 minutes! Thank you thank you for being such a wonderful part of this neighborhood 🫶 (The cakes are absolutely delicious as well.)

I have tried their pastries as well as their coffee but never ordered an actual cake. Decided to try it out and was pleasantly surprised. I ordered a Strawberry Shortcake made with a vanilla sponge and it was absolutely delicious. The cream was light and not overly sweet at all, which complimented the tartness of the strawberries. The sponge was soft and pillow like. It may look simple but I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this bakery!!Exactly what I had hoped for in this event.

Aloaf has become a staple for birthday cakes in our friend group for over a year now- and i can’t wait to continue ordering from them!! They’re super affordable and soo friendly! They have tons of flavors to choose from. I’ve done tiramisu and chocolate strawberry shortcake! I usually do 7-inch heart shaped cake which feeds 12-15 people. I even sent them some inspo pics of aesthetic Pinterest cakes. They usually don’t do fancy cakes but MY GOD THEY MADE MY FRIEND’S BIRTHDAY CAKE SO CUTE!! Pinterest worthy!! ❤️ I recommend them to anyone And everyone!!
