As a local business, it prides itself on its ability to handle everything from the simple daily needs of a commuter to the complex artistic demands of event planning. While the bakery landscape in New York City is constantly evolving with modern trends, La Dolce Italia maintains a focus on the traditional experience of a neighborhood bakeshop. Whether you are a lifelong local or a newcomer to the Forest Hills area, the bakery offers a glimpse into the enduring tradition of Italian-inspired sweets and community-centric service that defines the Queens culinary scene.

Service - Awesome! Pastries - awful! Been in the neighborhood and never tried them but today I did, needed a quick birthday cake and some goodies for guests. Big mistake! Awfully sweet, tons of food coloring and fake flavoring. The cheesecake extremely dry more like a cheese biscuit 🥴… maybe I’m spoiled maybe I’m not but def wouldn’t go back and regret not making the trip to my usual place 🤷♀️

I’ve been going to La Dolce Italia since I was a little kid. Growing up, on the way to work/school, mom and I would go there every morning to grab a coffee for her and a muffin for myself. Throughout my life, we’ve picked up cookies, birthday cakes, graduations cakes etc from La Dolce Italia - they never disappointed. Recently, my fiancé and I did a cake testing with Maria and showed her our design for the engagement cake we wanted. They did a phenomenal job. Even better than the design we showed her. Everyone at our engagement party said the cake was delicious and it was beautiful. We are so happy and grateful, and we thank La Dolce Italia for making such a lovely and delicious engagement cake for us!! We’ll be coming here for the big wedding day :)

They custom made the cake for me and my fiancé’s engagement party. The cake came out absolutely delicious and everyone loved it. They even made each tier a different flavor: vanilla, raspberry and dolce de leche. Amazing cake and service!

I don’t like writing bad reviews but this was the worst cake I have ever tasted in my life. We were driving towards Marthas but roads were blocked. Got a cake for my 3 yr old and our family. It was the cannoli one and the lady, she didn’t have good handwriting to write. And then we took it home, cut it, and every single person threw out their slice. It tasted like medicine. The frosting was worse than store bought like $2 cupcakes. The cake part was old tasting. There were bitter chocolate chips and the filling was horrid. We spent $36 and the whole fam was disappointed.

It sucks to have to say this, but it is totally hit, or, very miss at this local to us bakery. The last 2 times we've spent $$ here, everything had to be thrown out. My brother bought 2 fruit tarts, & thinking it was a nice thing, was looking forward to trying them. The taste of freezer/refrigerator was so overwhelming, it *truly made my stomach turn*. Likewise, with a box of cookies (about $25)- the pignoli & Florentine had to be thrown away. SO disappointing. We really want her to do well, & to have a bakery a few blocks away, but it's getting to the point of avoiding it, or, going way out of the way to other bakeries. These items need to be made fresh, far more often, than the owner can seem to keep up with. 😞
