Alohenny Cookies Introduce
In the vibrant culinary landscape of the Bronx, a new standard for gourmet confections has been set by Alohenny Cookies. Located in the Pelham Bay neighborhood, this women-led artisanal cookie shop has quickly transformed from a local secret into a destination for dessert enthusiasts across New York City. For New Yorkers, the "perfect cookie" is a subject of intense debate, often centering on the balance between a crisp exterior and a gooey, substantial center. Alohenny Cookies enters this arena with a unique cultural flair, blending the beloved traditions of Dominican baking with the oversized, decadent "NYC-style" cookie aesthetic. This results in a confectionery experience that is deeply nostalgic for the local community yet innovative enough to challenge the city's most established bakery legends.
The atmosphere at Alohenny Cookies is a reflection of the warmth and energy of the Bronx itself. Upon entering the shop on Coddington Avenue, customers are frequently greeted with a boisterous "Good Morning" and a genuine sense of hospitality that makes the small-batch bakery feel like a neighborhood home. The shop's aesthetic is described as "cute" and "welcoming," providing a cheerful backdrop to a display case filled with some of the most creative flavor combinations in the five boroughs. From the viral Dubai chocolate inspirations to the deeply traditional Dominican cake fillings, every item is handmade with an emphasis on "the love poured into every batch." For those in the New York region looking for a treat that surpasses the quality of mass-produced chains, Alohenny represents the pinnacle of modern, community-focused confectionery.
Location and Accessibility
Alohenny Cookies is strategically situated at 2801 Coddington Ave, Bronx, NY 10461, USA. This location puts it in the heart of the Pelham Bay and Schuylerville area, a region known for its strong residential roots and growing food scene. For those navigating the city via public transit, the shop is exceptionally accessible. It is located just a few blocks from the Middletown Road and Buhre Avenue subway stations, both served by the 6 train, which provides a direct link for residents traveling from Upper Manhattan or other parts of the East Bronx. This makes it a convenient "stop-and-go" destination for commuters heading home or those specifically making a "cookie pilgrimage" from other boroughs.
For customers arriving by car, the bakery's position near major thoroughfares like the Hutchinson River Parkway and the Bruckner Expressway ensures a straightforward journey from Westchester County or Queens. While street parking in the Bronx always requires a typical New York focus, the residential character of Coddington Avenue generally allows for manageable curbside access for quick pickups. The shop’s physical presence is a vital part of the local 10461 community, but its accessibility is further enhanced by its robust digital presence, offering both local delivery and nationwide shipping for those who cannot visit the Bronx storefront in person.

The shop has successfully cultivated several unique highlights that have garnered a loyal following.
- Dominican Cultural Fusion: Signature items like the Dominican Cake cookie, which incorporates traditional coconut, guava, and dulce de leche elements.
- Viral Innovation: Home to the "Dubai Chocolate Cookie," featuring the famous pistachio knafeh filling that has taken social media by storm.
- Handmade Quality: Every cookie is hand-filled and shaped, ensuring a level of artisanal consistency that machine-made products cannot replicate.
- Substantial Sizing: Cookies typically weigh between 6oz and 7.2oz, providing a rich, multi-serving experience in a single unit.
- Clean and Aesthetic Shop: A beautifully maintained interior that has become a favorite for local food influencers and neighborhood residents alike.

What is Worth Choosing
When visiting Alohenny Cookies for the first time, the "Dominican Cake Dulce" is an absolute mandatory selection. It is a vanilla coconut cookie filled with authentic Dominican cake and dulce de leche—a flavor profile that is nearly impossible to find in standard New York bakeries. This specific cookie has been described by regulars as "divine" and "incredible," perfectly capturing the essence of the bakery's mission to honor Dominican heritage through a modern lens. For those who prefer a fruitier profile, the Guava Dominican Cake cookie offers a moist, tropical experience that is a standout during the summer months but remains a fan favorite year-round.
For those looking for a more indulgent, chocolate-forward experience, the Ferrero Rocher and the Dubai Nutella cookies are worth every cent of their premium price. The Ferrero Rocher cookie is a chocolate and hazelnut masterpiece filled with a whole Ferrero candy and Nutella, providing a "holy cow" moment for chocolate lovers. Additionally, don't overlook the classic White Chocolate Macadamia; while it may sound standard, Alohenny's version is frequently cited as a "crack" cookie for its perfect texture and balance of sweetness. If you are a fan of traditional New York bakeries like Levain, you will find that Alohenny’s offerings often "surpass" the old favorites in both creativity and filling-to-dough ratio. Choosing to build a 4-pack allows you to sample the diversity of the menu, and when paired with a Spanish Latte, it provides the ultimate Bronx confectionery experience.

Went today for the first time and the moment i walked in i was welcomed with a loud GOOD MORNING and how are you. Very welcoming from the start. I ordered 4 cookies. White macadamia, Ferrero rocher, red velvet chocolate chip, and dubai Nutella. I’ve already eaten the white macadamia and I’m not going to lie, that cook was crack! Can’t wait to try the rest! Highly recommend this spot!

Tried her Dominican cookie during the summer and it was the best cookie I’ve ever had! The store was so cute and the service was great but I wanted to try more before leaving my review I just ordered this past Saturday, 4 cookies for my birthday-the Dominican cake one, choc chip, key lime and carrot cake pecan …holy cow were they DIVINE!!! All four!!! 100000% worth the price The cookies came packaged well too! I hope she keeps doing her thing because her cookies are incredible! They surpassed levain which was my fave for a very long time!

I was shocked when I went in to see the cookies for myself! Wow! And to top it off once I was given the instructions on how to warm it up, wow again! It does hit different! Moist, very delicious and high quality! The owner sold me the cookies and she was personable and very customer service oriented! Highly recommended!

Finally made it here. I’ve been seeing this place all over social media and wanted to check it out for myself. Pretty decor, very friendly and inviting place. I was greeted by 2 ladies. Very nice, asked if they could help me. I said I knew exactly what I wanted. I told them I wanted to try the Dominican cake with the guava filling. I was looking forward to it. The cookie was tasty, but it really didn’t have Dominican cake flavor. It was overly sweet, even for me and I have a sweet tooth. I’m not saying that the cookie was bad, it was delicious and the coconut added an extra layer of flavor. It tasted more like a coconut macaroon than actual cake. I will def go back to try more flavors. Each cookie was $10 that is a bit much for 1 cookie. Maybe do some promotional pricing.
