Barranquilla Bakery Introduce
In the heart of Jackson Heights, Queens, a neighborhood globally recognized for its unparalleled culinary diversity, Barranquilla Bakery stands as a definitive destination for authentic Colombian flavors. For New Yorkers seeking a genuine "panaderia" experience, this establishment on Junction Boulevard serves as more than just a place to grab a quick bite; it is a cultural anchor that brings the warmth and tradition of Colombian baking to the streets of New York. Whether you are a local resident looking for your daily "pan de bono" or a visitor exploring the rich food landscape of Queens, Barranquilla Bakery offers an inviting atmosphere where the aroma of freshly ground coffee and baked cheese bread creates an immediate sense of home.
The bakery has earned a reputation among the local community for its commitment to consistency and quality. As a professional local content writer, it is clear that Barranquilla Bakery occupies a unique niche, balancing the speed of a high-traffic urban bakery with the careful preparation of a full-service bistro. From the early morning hours when the first batches of "arepas" hit the griddle to the evening rush when families pick up specialized cakes for celebrations, the establishment maintains a high standard of cleanliness and organization. This dedication to excellence is frequently noted by patrons who describe the bakery as a "favorite spot" for gatherings, characterized by attentive service and a welcoming environment.
Location and Accessibility
Barranquilla Bakery is ideally situated at 34-48 Junction Blvd, Jackson Heights, NY 11372, USA. Junction Boulevard is one of the most vibrant and busiest commercial corridors in Queens, making the bakery exceptionally accessible to both pedestrians and those using public transportation. What is worth choosing
When visiting Barranquilla Bakery, the first item that any local would recommend is the Empanada. Specifically, the "Empanada Trio" is a fantastic way to sample their variety, including the shredded chicken and seasoned ground beef options. These are often served with the signature "Barranquilla Verde" sauce, which adds a bright, tangy kick that perfectly complements the savory fillings. For those on the go, a quick stop for a coffee and two empanadas is a quintessential Jackson Heights ritual that never disappoints.
For those with a sweet tooth or planning a celebration, the Tres Leches cake is arguably worth choosing above all else. Local reviewers have hailed their cakes as the best they have ever tasted, citing the perfect balance of moisture and flavor. If you are dining in for lunch, the "Bandeja Paisa" is a must-try for those seeking a hearty, traditional Colombian feast. This plate, featuring grilled steak, chicharron, rice, beans, and a fried egg, provides a comprehensive overview of the bakery's culinary range.
Finally, if you are looking for a true "taste of home" in the form of bread, do not miss the "Pan de Bono" or the "Arepa de Choclo." These cheese-based items are the cornerstone of Colombian baking and are best enjoyed while still warm. The "Mama Pineda’s Iced Coffee" is the perfect beverage accompaniment, offering a creamy and refreshing contrast to the savory breads. Whether you are coming for a single pastry or a full catering spread for a baptism or birthday, choosing Barranquilla Bakery means choosing a business that prides itself on being "on point" for every customer.
In conclusion, Barranquilla Bakery is a shining example of the rich cultural and culinary heritage that defines Jackson Heights. By combining traditional Colombian recipes with a modern New York sensibility, it has created a space that is both a reliable daily stop for locals and a destination for food lovers across the city.

I've ordered a cake and buffet for my daughter's baptism. It was by far the best cake I have ever tasted! Prices are extremely reasonable. The owners are very welcoming and attentive. The food was delicious! from the appetizers to all the combinations of pernil, chicken, salads, rice, and pastries. They are very clean, organized and on point. My new fav spot for all my gatherings. This place is highly recommended!

Very bad service, especially lady with glasses . I asked for 3 empanadas to be separate individually, she gave an attitude like if you don’t like your job then don’t it , I walked away to get a juice from the back and she was whispering to her coworker , it’s early in the morning if this lady doesn’t like to work in the morning she shouldn’t because nobody wants to walk in to a place with someone that’s going to be greeting at you with that kind of attitude. That’s not how I like my days to be started .

The empanadas, sugar croissants (i forgot the official name in Spanish) were really good. The hot chocolate tasted burnt and not to my liking. It was my first time trying hot chocolate from a Colombia spot.
