Buzzanca's Bakery & Cafe Introduce
In the vibrant heart of Jackson Heights, Queens, a neighborhood celebrated for its staggering culinary diversity, Buzzanca's Bakery & Cafe stands as a bastion of traditional baking excellence. For long-time residents and adventurous food explorers alike, this establishment represents the "old school" New York bakery experience that is becoming increasingly rare. While the surrounding streets of Roosevelt Avenue are filled with a kaleidoscope of global flavors, Buzzanca's maintains a steadfast commitment to the high-quality Italian-style breads and pastries that first put it on the map. It is a place where the air is thick with the comforting aroma of yeast and sugar, inviting anyone passing by 90th Street to step inside and experience a slice of authentic Queens history.
Buzzanca's Bakery & Cafe is more than just a retail storefront; it is a community anchor. Unlike modern, minimalist cafes that prioritize aesthetic over substance, Buzzanca's feels lived-in and genuine. It is the kind of place where locals gather in the early morning hours to discuss the news over a steaming cup of cafe con leche, and where families stop by in the afternoon to pick up a treat for a celebration. The bakery has managed to bridge the gap between being a specialized bread maker and a full-service cafe, offering a welcoming environment that rewards those who take the time to sit and savor their offerings. For the local New York user, it serves as a reliable, factual example of a neighborhood business that values craft, consistency, and community connection.
Location and Accessibility
Strategically located at 37-49 90th Street, Jackson Heights, NY 11372, USA, Buzzanca's Bakery & Cafe is perfectly positioned for maximum accessibility. It sits just off the bustling Roosevelt Avenue corridor, making it an easy detour for anyone navigating the transit-rich environment of Queens. For those using public transportation, the bakery is exceptionally convenient. This makes it an ideal stop for commuters heading into Manhattan or traveling deeper into the borough.

The interior of the bakery is surprisingly accommodating for the area, featuring a dedicated seating section in the back. What is worth choosing
If you are visiting Buzzanca's Bakery & Cafe for the first time, your experience should begin with the legendary Twisted Sesame Loaf. This bread is a masterclass in contrasts; it features a robust, old-school crusty exterior that yields to a soft, fresh interior. It is the perfect choice for someone who appreciates the artisanal side of baking. Locals often recommend eating it fresh while walking around the neighborhood, even if it means getting crumbs all over your car or clothes—the flavor is worth the mess. Pair this loaf with their cafe con leche, which is consistently described as delicious and offers incredible value at around $2.75.
For those looking for something sweet, the absolute standout is the Flan. Often cited as the best in the city, the flan at Buzzanca's is a revelation. It is not heavy or overly dense; instead, the custard is described as "fluffy" and light, with a perfect caramel balance. While you can purchase a slice, many savvy customers choose to buy a whole flan for approximately $24. It is the ultimate "power move" for a dinner party or family gathering, guaranteed to impress guests who appreciate a well-made, authentic dessert. Whether you are coming in for a quick loaf of bread or sitting down in the back to enjoy a local breakfast, choosing Buzzanca's means choosing a factual piece of New York’s baking history. In conclusion, Buzzanca's Bakery & Cafe is a testament to the enduring appeal of the neighborhood bakeshop. By focusing on the basics—fresh bread, great coffee, and standout desserts—they have created a business that serves as a cornerstone of the Jackson Heights community. For any New Yorker looking to escape the generic and rediscover the "old school" flavors of the borough, a trip to 90th Street is highly recommended. You will find professional service, friendly faces, and some of the best-tasting baked goods the city has to offer.

Fantastic accidental find while driving around Roosevelt ave in Jackson heights on one of our food safari explorations. This twisted sesame loaf was so delicious old school crusty outside with soft delicious fresh bread. We ate about a third of it getting crumbs all over ourselves and our car but we were happy. The cafe con leche was delicious too. Good value too at $2.75 and there are tables in the back that were pretty full of locals enjoying breakfast.

Love this place; I get it 3-4 times a week. The cappuccinos are more like lattes, but they're $3, so it's hard to complain. The people that work there are very nice, and the baked goods are great. You're not gonna get oatmilk or matcha lattes here, but it's really affordable and a nice stop.

My father has been buying bread from them since I was a kid in the 90’s, most notably the Italian bread. It’s the best bakery I know of in the neighborhood by far. Some days the bread is crunchier than others but it’s never really an issue. I prefer crunchy but it still tastes pretty damn good. If you live in the area this is a gem you need to know about.

The best Bread in the neighborhood, but the two women that serve make your food hazardous. They use gloves to serve you, but they never take them off or change them and grab money and give change and grab other stuff all while wearing the same contaminated glove. I stopped going there because of that, my family’s and my health comes first!!!
