Carlo's Bakery 1500 Broadway Introduce
In the vibrant, neon-lit landscape of Times Square, where the energy of the world converges at the intersection of Broadway and 43rd Street, sits a destination that has become a modern pilgrimage for dessert lovers. Carlo’s Bakery at 1500 Broadway is more than just a place to grab a quick snack; it is the New York City flagship of the legendary Valastro family, made world-famous by the hit TLC series "Cake Boss." For local New Yorkers and visitors navigating the "Crossroads of the World," this bakery offers a sweet reprieve that bridges the gap between old-school Hoboken tradition and the high-octane atmosphere of Manhattan. Since its opening as a flagship location in early 2024, it has served as a primary hub for those seeking the authentic Italian flavors that Buddy Valastro and his family have spent over a century perfecting.
Walking into the 1500 Broadway location, you are immediately met with a sleek, modern design that incorporates white marble and brass accents—a departure from the rustic charm of the original Jersey shop, yet one that fits perfectly into the sophisticated aesthetic of Midtown Manhattan. Despite its polished look, the heart of the operation remains rooted in 1910 tradition. For the local community in the New York region, having access to these iconic treats without crossing the Hudson River is a major convenience. Whether you are catching a Broadway show, heading to a meeting in one of the surrounding skyscrapers, or simply enjoying a weekend stroll through the city, Carlo’s Bakery provides a high-quality, professional experience that stays true to its "family-owned" roots while operating on one of the grandest stages on earth.
Location and Accessibility
Carlo’s Bakery is located at 1500 Broadway, New York, NY 10036, USA. Its position is undeniably one of the most strategic in the city, situated right in the center of the Times Square district. For anyone living or working in Manhattan, the accessibility of this shop is unparalleled. It is centrally located near some of the city's busiest transit hubs, making it an easy stop for commuters and theater-goers alike. The bakery is just a short walk from the Times Square–42nd Street subway station, which provides access to nearly every major line, including the N, Q, R, W, S, 1, 2, 3, and 7 trains. It is also conveniently close to the Port Authority Bus Terminal for those arriving from outside the borough.
The shop is designed to handle the high foot traffic of Broadway with efficiency. The layout facilitates a "grab-and-go" culture essential for the New York pace, though it does offer limited indoor seating for those who wish to pause and enjoy their treats immediately. Because it is located on a primary thoroughfare, it is easily reachable by foot from most Midtown hotels and office buildings. For those who prefer to have their sweets delivered, this location is well-integrated with major local delivery platforms, ensuring that even if you can’t make it to the "Crossroads of the World" in person, a fresh box of cannoli can still find its way to your doorstep or office lounge.

What is worth choosing
If you are stepping into Carlo's Bakery for the first time, the "Lobster Tail" is the non-negotiable choice. It is the signature item that built the Valastro empire; the pastry is notoriously difficult to make, requiring hundreds of thin layers of dough that "shatter" perfectly when bitten into, revealing a dense, sweet cream filling that many locals describe as "out of this world." For a more traditional Italian experience, the cannoli—available in both original and strawberry—are a staple. They are known for shells that stay crunchy and a ricotta filling that isn't overly sweet, providing an authentic taste of Hoboken.
For those looking for something a bit more modern, the "Nutella Pocket" has earned rave reviews for being exceptionally flaky and decadent. If you are in the mood for a heavier dessert, the "Melt in your mouth" cheesecake is a quintessential New York choice that lives up to the local high standards. Additionally, if you are visiting during the morning or lunch hour, don't overlook their savory side; the bakery-style focaccia pizza is a hidden gem in Times Square, offering a hearty, salty contrast to the sugary displays. Whether you go for the viral "Dubai Chocolate" items or the classic Rainbow Cake slice, you are choosing a piece of New York culinary history that continues to evolve without losing its soul.

Friendly staff and delicious sweets! Melt in your mouth cheesecake, yum! Lobster tails were fantastic, the filling is sooooo good! Strawberry and original cannoli's are next. Will update. They look delicious though! 🥰✨️ My sweets took a beating while I walked back to motel. Their presentation was perfect when I initially received the box, and still not too bad for a pic once opened. Tastes 🤌 regardless.

A fun spot to get a treat. They have all kinds of options. We tried the strawberry cheesecake, Nutella pocket, and a cookie. All were good, the Nutella pocket was Fabulous though! So flaky and delicious. Some seating but not much. We went twice. Once we ate in; the second we took back to our hotel. Both times it was easy to get in and out with great service.

The treats were fantastic! I ordered the s’mores conolli, a gingerbread drink, and then I asked the cashier for a suggestion on what to get. He gave me two things to pick from and I told him to surprise me. I ended up with the tres leches cake which was phenomenal. Will definitely be back next time that I’m in the city!

A coworker told me she had a delicious slice of cake from here. So I decided to check the place out & got an eclair to take home. Way overpriced & not very good. The chocolate icing was the best part. There was hardly any cream inside. You’d be better off at almost any Italian bakery in Brooklyn for a fraction of the price. I probably should’ve got a slice of cake since that was what recommended to me. I stand corrected I had the other half of the eclair for breakfast & that side had a lot of cream. So I’d say only 25% of the eclair was missing cream.

Beautiful bakery and great tasting deserts. I got some cannolis, lobster tail, cupcake and cookies. Lobster tail was a 10/10. The inside tasted like ice cream as my wife stated lol. Overall great staple to pass by and grab some quick sweets.
