Macaron Parlour Introduce
Nestled in the charming, historic blocks of the Lower East Side where Nolita meets Chinatown, Macaron Parlour is a vibrant testament to the creative spirit of New York City’s baking scene. Located at 44 Hester Street, this artisanal bakery has built a cult following by successfully marrying rigorous French pastry techniques with a playful, decidedly American sense of wonder. Since its inception, the shop has moved beyond the traditional boundaries of the Parisian macaron, offering a menu that invites customers to rediscover their favorite childhood flavors through a sophisticated, gourmet lens. For local New Yorkers, it is a "sweet escape" that feels both high-end and refreshingly unpretentious.
The atmosphere at Macaron Parlour is cozy, bright, and welcoming—a true neighborhood cafe where the scent of browning butter and toasted nuts fills the air. It is famously situated right next to its sister establishment, Meow Parlour, the city’s first cat cafe, making this specific stretch of Hester Street a premier destination for dessert lovers and animal enthusiasts alike. Whether you are stopping in for a quick afternoon pick-me-ever or settling in for a "snack date" with family, the shop’s whimsical aesthetic and friendly staff create a joyous environment. It is a place where culinary boundary-pushing—like putting Cheeto dust on a macaron—is handled with the same level of care as a classic dark chocolate ganache, ensuring that every bite is as delicious as it is adventurous.
Location and Accessibility are excellent for residents and visitors exploring Lower Manhattan. 44 Hester Street is conveniently positioned between Ludlow and Essex Streets, placing it within walking distance of several iconic NYC landmarks. For those using public transportation, the F train at East Broadway is just a five-minute walk away, while the B and D trains at Grand Street provide easy access from across the city. The area is highly walkable and rich with local boutiques and galleries, making Macaron Parlour a perfect stop during a weekend stroll. While street parking can be the typical Manhattan challenge, the bakery’s proximity to major transit hubs ensures that a fresh batch of macarons is never out of reach for a dedicated New Yorker.

What is worth choosing at Macaron Parlour? For the ultimate experience, you cannot leave without trying a few of their signature macarons. The "Cheetos" macaron remains a legendary choice for the brave—it features a white chocolate ganache infused with real Cheetos and is dusted with cheese powder, creating a surprisingly balanced sweet-and-savory profile. For those who prefer something a bit more traditional but still unique, the "Party Time" (salted milk chocolate and dulce de leche) and the "S'mores" (complete with a graham cracker-infused shell and marshmallow fluff) are perennial crowd-pleasers that highlight the bakery's "American flavor" focus.
If you aren't in the mood for a macaron, the bakery’s "homestyle" offerings are equally impressive. The Chocolate Chip Cookie is frequently described by locals as "tasting just like homemade," with a perfect balance of chew and rich chocolate. For a savory twist, the Scallion and Garlic Biscuit is a "must-get" item that offers a flaky, buttery texture with a sharp, aromatic kick—perfect for a mid-morning snack. Vegans should specifically look for the Vegan Red Velvet or the Vegan Pistachio, which use real pistachio paste rather than extracts to achieve a deep, authentic flavor. Whether you are grabbing a single $3.00 treat or a signature box of 24 to share, Macaron Parlour ensures that every selection feels like a special occasion.

Me and my daughter decided to grab a snack after our 🌮 lunch. We walked around the corner to Macaron Parlour and ordered a chocolate chip cookie, scallion and garlic biscuit (can't pass up a biscuit) and a Cinnabon. So far the chocolate cookie is 🔥 🍪 taste just like homemade 😋 made me happy! Havent tried the other 2 treats brining it home to my son so we can all try it later. Stop by if you are in the neighborhood you won't be disappointed.

It’s a small cozy cafe right next to a cat cafe called meow parlour. It’s very cute place and they also have desserts like macarons too. Very cute spot! 🌸

We came here after being told the Meow Parlour was too full for us (so sad!). We settled for some lattes and macarons. I love the aesthetic of this shop! It was so cozy! The decorations were adorable and their macarons were yummy! Also, the gal behind the counter was so nice. I'm glad we stopped in. Definitely worth a visit!
