Milk Bar at CAMP Introduce
In the vibrant heart of Manhattan’s Flatiron District, a unique collaboration has brought together two of New York’s most playful brands. Milk Bar at CAMP, located at 110 5th Avenue, is more than just a typical bakery outpost; it is an immersive dessert destination tucked inside the "Family Experience Store" known as CAMP. For New Yorkers, Milk Bar has long been a household name, founded by Chef Christina Tosi and celebrated for its innovative, nostalgia-inducing sweets. However, this specific location offers a whimsical atmosphere that mirrors the interactive, camp-themed environment of the store, making it a premier choice for families, dessert enthusiasts, and anyone looking to recapture a bit of childhood magic in the middle of a busy city workday.
The experience at Milk Bar at CAMP is designed to be as energetic as the neighborhood surrounding it. While other Milk Bar locations might focus on the "grab-and-go" hustle of the city, this location invites a slightly slower pace—one where you can indulge in a treat after exploring the secret doors and craft stations of the CAMP store. The staff here are known for their high energy and friendly demeanor, often adding to the "camp counselor" vibe that permeates the space. Whether you are a long-time fan of their salty-sweet flavor profiles or a newcomer curious about the hype of Cereal Milk, this 5th Avenue location provides a professional yet delightfully informal setting to explore some of the most famous desserts in modern culinary history.
Location and Accessibility
Milk Bar at CAMP is situated at 110 5th Ave, New York, NY 10011, at the intersection of 5th Avenue and 16th Street. This location puts it in a prime spot within the Flatiron District, just a few blocks north of Union Square. For local residents and commuters, the accessibility is top-tier. The shop is easily reached via a short walk from the Union Square-14th Street subway hub (4, 5, 6, L, N, Q, R, W trains) or the 14th St-6th Ave station (F, M, L, and PATH trains). Its proximity to major transit lines makes it a convenient detour for those traveling from virtually any borough.
For those navigating the city with strollers or mobility aids, the store is fully ADA-compliant with a spacious street-level entrance and wide aisles within the CAMP retail space. While street parking in this area of Manhattan is notoriously difficult, there are several parking garages nearby on 16th and 17th Streets. The bakery is perfectly positioned for those spending a day shopping along 5th Avenue or visiting nearby landmarks like Madison Square Park. Its "shop-within-a-shop" setup means you can easily combine a toy-shopping excursion or a kids' birthday party with a high-quality dessert run.

What is worth choosing
When you find yourself at the counter of Milk Bar at CAMP, there is one item that stands above the rest as a "must-try" for this specific location: the S’mores Sundae. It is widely considered one of the best creations in the Milk Bar portfolio, perfectly capturing the nostalgia of a campfire with a sophisticated New York twist. The combination of the cold cereal milk soft serve against the gooey, charred marshmallows and the salty crunch of the compost cookie crumbs provides a multi-textured experience that is hard to find elsewhere. It is the definitive treat for this location and worth every bit of the hype.
If you are looking for something a bit more traditional, you cannot go wrong with the Cereal Milk soft serve topped with cornflake crunch. For those who find the soft serve a bit too "salty-sweet," the Birthday Cake Truffles are a reliable alternative; they are essentially bite-sized pieces of rainbow-flecked vanilla cake that pack a massive amount of flavor into a small package. For local residents looking for a quick pick-me-up, the Compost Cookie remains the gold standard for "everything-but-the-kitchen-sink" baking. No matter what you choose, Milk Bar at CAMP offers a high-quality, fun, and factual representation of the modern American bakery. It’s the perfect spot to end a long day of city exploring or to start a weekend of family fun in the Flatiron.
In summary, Milk Bar at CAMP on 5th Avenue is a vital part of the neighborhood’s culinary fabric. By blending the world-class pastry skills of Christina Tosi with the immersive joy of CAMP, it provides a dessert experience that is uniquely New York. Whether you are there for the exclusive sundaes or a quick box of truffles, the quality and creativity are guaranteed to leave a lasting impression.

The perfect treat after a long day at CAMP. What makes this location special compared to other Milk Bars is their exclusive S’mores Sundae, one of the best creations from any Milk Bar. Staff are energetic and friendly, great dessert spot!

Honestly I'm not sure what the hype is all about here. The cereal milk ice cream is more salty than anything. Now the idea of cereal on the OUTSIDE of soft serve is great, and that was the best part. Perhaps on a less salt-filled ice cream it would've been great.

A welcome addition to the milk bar family (selfishly because it's close to my office), this store has an exclusive S'mores sunday (cereal milk custard + compost cookie crumbs + charred marshmallows + fudge sauce). It is worth trying, but I wasn't in love with it. If I go back I'll likely just get cookies or truffles. They don't have milk quakes/shakes.

Twice now I arrived before 7:00PM for Milk Bar. Google Maps lists closing time as 8:00PM. Is this place ever opened? Do not even waste your time.

Really nice spot! It’s in a kids store but off to the side with a bit of seating. They have the highlights of Milk Bar, not everything though.
