Somedays Bakery - LIC Introduce
In the vibrant waterfront district of Long Island City, Somedays Bakery - LIC has quickly become a must-visit destination for those who take their morning rituals seriously. Situated along the scenic Center Boulevard, this bakery brings a touch of elevated European craftsmanship to the Queens shoreline. For New Yorkers who have seen the neighborhood transform into a high-rise residential hub, the arrival of a high-quality, independent bakery like Somedays signifies a deepening of the local community culture. It is not just a place to grab a quick bite; it is a specialized viennoiserie where the art of lamination—creating those hundreds of delicate, buttery layers in a croissant—is treated with the utmost respect. The shop offers a modern, sleek aesthetic that matches the surrounding glass towers while maintaining a warm, welcoming vibe that invites locals to linger over a fresh pastry and a meticulously brewed cup of coffee.
What sets Somedays Bakery apart in a city saturated with cafes is its commitment to premium ingredients and inventive flavor profiles. While many establishments rely on standard supplies, this bakery utilizes high-quality New Zealand butter, which provides a distinctively rich and creamy foundation for its dough. The result is a selection of pastries that are as visually stunning as they are delicious, featuring intricate lattice work, bi-color doughs, and bold, global flavors. From the perspective of a local user, the bakery serves as an "attainable luxury"—a spot where you might pay a bit more than at a standard corner deli, but the quality of the craftsmanship and the unique flavor combinations make it a justified treat. Whether you are a resident of the nearby TF Cornerstone buildings or a visitor exploring the greenery of Gantry Plaza State Park, Somedays Bakery offers a sophisticated slice of New York's ever-evolving culinary scene.
Location and Accessibility
Somedays Bakery - LIC is perfectly positioned at 46-30 Center Blvd, Long Island City, NY 11109, USA. This prime real estate puts the bakery right in the heart of the Hunters Point waterfront area, making it an incredibly accessible stop for the thousands of residents living in the immediate vicinity. For those traveling from other parts of the New York region, the bakery is well-served by public transportation. It is within a manageable walking distance from the Vernon Blvd-Jackson Av station (7 train) and the 21st St-Van Alst station (G train), as well as the Hunter's Point South ferry terminal, which offers a scenic commute from Manhattan and Brooklyn. What is worth choosing
For anyone stepping into Somedays Bakery - LIC for the first time, the absolute "must-try" item is the Smoked Salmon Croissant. This isn't your standard deli bagel experience; it is a refined French pastry technique applied to a classic New York flavor profile. The croissant is flawlessly laminated, featuring a flaky exterior that yields to a soft, buttery interior packed with cream cheese, red onions, and lox. It is a savory masterpiece that local foodies have hailed as one of the best croissants in the entire city. If you prefer something on the sweeter side, the Pistachio Lattice Croissant is worth every penny. The design alone—a beautifully patterned, crisp lattice—is a work of art, and the pistachio frangipane filling is rich and nutty without being overly sugary.
Another standout for those with adventurous palates is the Black Sesame Tahini Pain au Chocolat. The tahini paste provides a deep, earthy nuttiness that balances the sweetness of the chocolate ganache bar, creating a sophisticated treat that pairs perfectly with their bold coffee options. For those looking for a balanced snack, the Chocolate Brownie Salted Caramel Danish offers a satisfying mix of textures with its crispy layers and rich brownie base. Finally, don't miss out on their specialty coffee drinks, particularly the "Someday Latte" featuring house-made brown butter sauce. Whether you are grabbing a quick croissant for your commute or treating yourself to a weekend brunch by the water, choosing Somedays Bakery means choosing a level of craftsmanship that makes any day feel a bit more special.

We heard great things about this bakery and so wanted to check it out. They had a wide selection of flavors. The pastries seem to be on the slightly pricier side. We tried: Black sesame tahini pain au chocolat: the tahini paste is really nutty without being overpowering. Unfortunately, we thought the chocolate part overpowered the rest of the flavors and so the tahini and black sesame were lost in that Chocolate brownie salted caramel danish: love the salted caramel! The flavors were all well balanced. Very crispy layers Overall would recommend! I’d be interested to try more flavors

Stopped in to grab a croissant and coffee and walked out with the Smoked salmon croissant, Pistachio lattice, Black sesame tahini pan au chocolate and coffee. Everything looked good and fresh. Hands down the best croissant I've ever had. Flaky outter layers with a soft and buttery inside packed with onions and lox. Definitely stopping in again when I am in the neighborhood.

This is my new favorite bakery. I have travel from south Brooklyn to Long Island city already 3 times, just to get their goods. For anyone who lives in NY that says everything. They have a range of very creative and delicious baked goods. So far I have tried pear and Dolce deleche croissant, eggnog croissant, triple chocolate croissant, Tahini croissant and Pistachio Dolce deleche croissant and everything is simply amazing! I will get for more, and want to try everything that they make. Added bonus, the place work late hours and getting closed at 9 PM so if you have late night sweet cravings or simply want to beat traffic, I strongly recommend to visit this place.

Always fresh, great variety, and consistently excellent. The savory options are just as strong as the sweet ones; the spinach and ricotta swirl is phenomenal, even if you’re not a spinach fan (I’m not). The touch of honey gives it a subtle sweetness that ties everything together perfectly. The pain au chocolat is also excellent, especially in the morning when it’s freshly baked—no dry pastry or sad, thin chocolate strip (you know the one). My go-to drink is the iced vanilla latte; the proportions are spot on every time. Hours are generous, the staff is welcoming, and Dani in particular is fantastic: warm, friendly, and makes everyone feel genuinely welcome. A real neighborhood gem.

Went back twice in one day. Good on my tongue, bad for the waistline. We tried a mix of sweet and savory and all were delicious. Only disappointment was that the crab danish was still on their menu board, but no longer actually being made.
