The Oasis Cafe Introduce
In the ever-evolving culinary landscape of Manhattan, finding a spot that feels like a true neighborhood sanctuary can be a challenge. However, for those navigating the streets of the Gramercy and Peter Cooper Village area, a new light has emerged in the form of The Oasis Cafe. Located at 362 2nd Avenue, this bakery and cafe has quickly transitioned from a new opening to a cherished local fixture. As the name suggests, it serves as a literal oasis for New Yorkers seeking a moment of calm, a high-quality caffeine fix, or a delicious, home-style meal in the midst of their busy schedules. Whether you are a resident of the 10010 zip code or just passing through after a long day of appointments, the atmosphere here is designed to be both welcoming and revitalizing.
The Oasis Cafe distinguishes itself by offering a menu that manages to be both expansive and expertly curated. It is rare to find a location that handles savory breakfast items, hearty lunch portions, and delicate, "colorful" pastries with equal finesse. The cafe has already begun to build a loyal following, attracting a diverse crowd that includes local school children, neighborhood residents, and professionals seeking a reliable third space. The interior is often described as charming and thoughtfully decorated, with seasonal touches—such as festive holiday greenery and peppermint-themed wall art—that add a layer of warmth and personality to the dining experience. It is the kind of place where the staff knows the regulars, yet first-time visitors are treated with the same level of genuine hospitality that defines the best of New York’s independent cafe culture.
Since opening its doors just a few months ago, The Oasis Cafe has demonstrated that it understands the pulse of the neighborhood. By bringing in experienced staff from other established branches in the East Village, the cafe ensures a level of professional service and culinary consistency that is often missing in newer establishments. The result is a space that feels grounded and reliable. From the first sip of a perfectly frothed cappuccino to the last bite of a flaky, buttery pastry, the quality of the ingredients and the care in preparation are evident. For New Yorkers who value both flavor and a sense of community, The Oasis Cafe is rapidly becoming a mandatory stop on the daily commute.
Location and Accessibility
The Oasis Cafe is conveniently situated at 362 2nd Ave #372, New York, NY 10010, USA. Its position on 2nd Avenue, near the intersection of 21st Street, places it in a prime location within the Gramercy Park neighborhood. This area is known for its residential charm and professional services, making the cafe a perfect hub for locals. Its proximity to several major medical centers and residential complexes like Stuyvesant Town and Peter Cooper Village means it is a natural choice for those looking for a high-quality meal after an appointment or during a neighborhood stroll.
Accessibility is a strong suit for this location. For those utilizing the New York City subway system, the cafe is a manageable walk from the 23rd Street station (serving the 6, R, and W lines) and the 1st Avenue L-train station. Additionally, the M15 and M15-SBS bus lines run directly along 2nd Avenue, providing a virtually door-to-door transit option for those traveling north or south through Manhattan. For those who prefer to travel by bike, there are several Citi Bike docks in the immediate vicinity. While the interior offers a cozy and inviting seating area, the cafe also features outdoor seating for those who enjoy the energy of 2nd Avenue—though, as local patrons jokingly note, this is usually reserved for the "brave" during the cooler months!

When visiting The Oasis Cafe for the first time, there are a few standout items that truly define the quality of the establishment. For a savory lunch that hits the spot, the Spinach Pie is an absolute must-order. Patrons rave about the texture of the flaky filo dough, which perfectly complements the rich, toothsome filling of fresh spinach and creamy ricotta. It is a warming, comforting dish that pairs beautifully with their signature Cappuccino. The coffee here is noted for being well-crafted, with a thick, velvety foam that provides the perfect "hit" for a midday pick-me-up.
If you are in the mood for something lighter or have a bit of a sweet tooth, the pastry counter is the place to look. The "colorful pastries" are a highlight for many, offering a visual feast before you even take a bite. The cookies are also a reliable local favorite for a quick snack on the go. Spinach Pie and Cappuccino. The Oasis Cafe delivers on flavor and well crafted food and drink. The menu has many choices from breakfast, lunch and colorful pastries to nibble on throughout the day. Yesterday after a lengthy appointment, I was famished. On the way home, I passed The Oasis Cafe where I have occasionally picked up a cookie. This time lunch was in order. A hot warming cappuccino hit the spot. A slice of spinach pie with flaky filo dough and a filling of spinach and ricotta was toothsome. Sam, the charming young lady behind the counter, made my coffee and brought lunch to the table. She has been here for over a week having worked at another branch in the East Village. This cafe has been open a few months ago and already has regular customers, school children and neighborhood residents. Christmas decorations of large pink and white peppermint sticks adorn a wall with green pine and a pretty tall Christmas tree is to the right of the entrance. Outdoor seating is here although only the brave sit here now!

I live near the Second Avenue location of Oasis which I think is their newest location. They opened just last summer so this was really my introduction to them. Anyway — I really like Oasis! The coffee is good, the pastries are unique and well prepared and the staff is super nice. Of course it doesn’t hurt to have a place like this nearby now that the weather is cold. But it’s clear that the people at Oasis take their work seriously. Recommended!

I ended up ordering the maple cinnamon latte. It was actually really good and wasn’t too sweet. I love their customer service and how accommodating they are with the drinks. It is a little on the pricey side.

I LOVE this bakery!!! The baklava cheesecake and chocolate fudge cakes are my favorite. The chocolate baklava is delicious — one of the staff members suggested it and it was a great little treat. I love to stop here on my way home from dinner. The selection is amazing and the cafe is so clean
