Bakeri Queens Introduce
In the quiet, tree-lined intersection of Cornelia Street and Woodward Avenue, a new chapter of New York’s rich baking history is being written. Bakeri Queens, the latest expansion of the beloved Brooklyn-based Bakeri brand, has officially rooted itself in the heart of Ridgewood. For local New Yorkers, particularly those in the "North Brooklyn-adjacent" pockets of Queens, the arrival of Bakeri signifies more than just a new place to grab a coffee; it represents a commitment to high-quality, small-batch craftsmanship. The shop captures a specific "vintage-meets-modern" aesthetic, featuring antique figurines, old paintings, and weathered tiles that make it feel like it has been part of the neighborhood for decades, despite opening its doors in late 2023. It is a place where the pace of the city slows down, replaced by the comforting rhythm of flour hitting a workbench and the hiss of an espresso machine.
For residents of the New York region, the distinction between a grocery store loaf and a bakery-fresh one is a matter of daily lifestyle. Bakeri Queens caters to those who prioritize flavor and quality in their staples. The shop is more than just a retail space; it is a community hub where neighbors exchange nods over the morning’s first batch of scones. The staff is frequently described as some of the kindest in the neighborhood, contributing to a positive, welcoming vibe that has made it a "treat palace" for the locals. Whether you are seeking a reliable sourdough for your weekly sandwiches or a whimsical rosemary cookie to brighten an afternoon, Bakeri Queens has quickly proven that it understands the unique soul of Ridgewood.
Location and Accessibility
Bakeri Queens is located at 8-18 Woodward Avenue, Ridgewood, NY 11385, USA. This specific corner in Ridgewood is part of a growing enclave of independent businesses that have made the area a destination for food enthusiasts. For those navigating the city’s transit system, the bakery is highly accessible. It sits within walking distance of the Forest Avenue "M" train station, making it a convenient stop for commuters traveling between Queens and Manhattan. Additionally, the Myrtle-Wyckoff Avenues station (serving both the L and M lines) is reachable, providing a direct link for those coming from Bushwick or North Brooklyn.
For local pedestrians and cyclists, Woodward Avenue offers a more relaxed, neighborhood-centric route compared to the heavier commercial traffic of nearby Myrtle Avenue. The bakery is perfectly positioned for those on their way to local parks or running weekend errands. While street parking is typical for a residential Queens neighborhood—meaning it can be competitive during peak hours—the shop’s primary audience consists of local walkers who enjoy the scenic stroll past Ridgewood’s iconic brick row houses. The storefront is easily identifiable by its charming exterior, inviting passersby to step in and escape the hustle of the city for a few moments.

What is worth choosing
When you find yourself at the counter of Bakeri Queens, the choice can be difficult, but there are a few items that have achieved "local legend" status. For a hearty lunch that perfectly encapsulates the bakery’s skill, the Tomato Jam Gruyère sandwich on focaccia is worth choosing every single time. The sweetness of the house-made tomato jam balances the nutty sharpness of the melted Gruyère, all held together by the airy, olive-oil-rich focaccia. If you are looking for a bread to take home, the Whole Wheat Sourdough is a staple that justifies its premium price through incredible flavor and a perfect crust-to-crumb ratio. It is a robust loaf that elevates everything from basic morning toast to elaborate dinner sides.
On the sweeter side of the menu, the Rosemary Cookie is a must-try for those who enjoy herbal notes in their desserts. It is a signature Bakeri item that offers a sophisticated, savory-sweet profile you won't find at a standard grocery store. For coffee drinkers, a classic latte paired with their house-made syrups—like the pumpkin spice during the fall—is a great choice, though regulars often note that the iced teas are an underrated gem for those seeking something refreshing. Whether you are there for a full sandwich or just a "little sweet treat," choosing Bakeri means choosing a level of quality that respects the long-standing tradition of New York neighborhood bakeries. It is the kind of place where you come for the bread but stay for the vibes.

I ❤️ Bakeri !! Nothing hits like fresh bread for the week or a focaccia sandwich for lunch (and maybe a rosemary cookie for dessert!) This place has cutie vibes and excellent baked goods. I often come in for the Tomato Jam Gruyère sandwich on focaccia and a loaf of whole wheat sour dough. Prices are a bit higher for bread than the grocery store but the flavor and quality really compensates. Love their sweet treats too, and they have good iced teas!

Ok super cute! Super nice people! My almond milk latte was pretty rough, ngl. It was very very watery (which I know is a factor of almond milk but this was like the wateriest thing ever). The pumpkin spice wasn’t too sweet which was nice !

Hit or miss items. Got a bunch of things. The apple cake was a bit burnt and the chocolate walnut bread was too bitter. The chocolate chip cookies were good and the danishes were ok.

The sweetest little bakery! I got there 20 minutes before closing and they still had a nice little section of baked goods. Got the hazelnut rosemary chocolate chip cookie and it was really nice. Very nice customer service too!
