Bakery On 3rd Cafe Introduce
In the vibrant and ever-evolving landscape of New York City's culinary scene, local bakeries serve as the heartbeat of the neighborhood. One such establishment situated in the Upper East Side/East Harlem area is Bakery On 3rd Cafe. For residents of Manhattan, a local bakery is more than just a place to grab a quick bite; it is a community staple where the aroma of fresh dough and brewed coffee provides a brief respite from the fast-paced energy of the city streets. Bakery On 3rd Cafe occupies a prominent spot on 3rd Avenue, offering a variety of baked goods and cafe services to the local population and commuters passing through this busy corridor.
The cafe aims to provide a welcoming atmosphere for those seeking traditional bakery items, ranging from morning pastries to custom-designed cakes for special occasions. As with many local businesses in New York, it balances the demands of high-volume foot traffic with the personalized touch expected of a neighborhood "mom and pop" shop. Understanding the local context of this establishment is essential for anyone living in or visiting the 10029 zip code who is searching for a convenient spot to satisfy a sweet tooth or find a centerpiece for a family celebration.
Location and Accessibility are key factors for any New York City business, and Bakery On 3rd Cafe is strategically positioned to serve its community. Located at 1885 3rd Ave, New York, NY 10029, the shop is nestled in a diverse and culturally rich section of the city. For those navigating the city via public transit, the bakery is accessible via several local bus routes that run along 3rd and Lexington Avenues. Additionally, it is within walking distance of the 103rd Street subway station, serving the 6 train, making it a convenient stop for those heading downtown or further uptown. The storefront is street-level, providing standard sidewalk accessibility common to Manhattan's retail avenues.
Services Offered at Bakery On 3rd Cafe include a variety of options designed to cater to different times of the day and different consumer needs. While primarily known for its baked goods, the establishment functions as a full-service cafe. The following services are typically available to patrons:

What is worth choosing when you visit Bakery On 3rd Cafe? Based on the feedback from the local community and the nature of the shop, the "food quality" remains a point of interest for many. Despite mixed reviews regarding service and consistency, many locals have historically sought out the bakery for its flavor profiles. If you are a fan of traditional textures and classic recipes, the standard bakery fare—such as morning rolls or simple cookies—is often what draws people in during the daytime hours.
When considering a purchase, it is worth noting that customer experiences at this location have been varied. Some visitors have highlighted that while the food can be quite good, the service may be inconsistent depending on the time of day. For instance, arriving during peak daylight hours is often cited as a better experience than arriving very early or near closing. If you are looking for custom work, such as a birthday cake, it is highly recommended to provide very specific instructions and perhaps check in on the progress, as local feedback suggests that fulfillment of complex custom orders can sometimes deviate from the requested specifications.
Furthermore, transparency is important for New York consumers. Recent local reviews have raised concerns regarding the consistency of custom orders and the responsiveness of management to complaints. Some customers have reported issues with the execution of specific designs and the freshness of products during high-stress periods. Therefore, while the bakery remains a staple for many, the savvy New York shopper might choose to start with smaller items—like a single cupcake or a cup of coffee—to gauge the current quality before committing to a large, expensive custom order. This approach allows you to enjoy what the bakery does best while managing expectations for larger events.
In summary, Bakery On 3rd Cafe represents a typical New York City neighborhood spot: it offers convenience, a local feel, and the classic tastes of a city bakery. Whether you are stopping in for a quick caffeine fix or looking for a last-minute pastry, it remains a visible part of the 3rd Avenue landscape. By being aware of the operating hours and clearly communicating your needs to the staff, you can navigate your visit to this East Harlem establishment effectively.

They have inaccurate times for their hours. You can come at 8:30 and they will completely ignore you at the door. During the day they are a little nicer. The service is poor but the food is good. So if you want anything just make sure you get here early.

Absolutely terrible I truly wouldn’t recommend this bakery anymore they fell off I’ve always went here for my son birthday cake and I’ve recently went here for my son birthday , I requested a all blue cupcake cake shaped as the number five, the flavors to be chocolate and vanilla and I’ve received nothing like what I’ve requested ..I went to pick up my cake nd it was in the shape of the letter L , the frosting looked as if they didn’t care about the presentation it was poorly put on and very hard as if these cupcakes were old also the cupcake’s itself were very burnt nd dry my guest refused to eat the cake sad part is all the cupcakes were burnt and tasted very old the frosting looked and tasted expired when I ate one there was a black hair inside and I vomited and when i requested a refund I was denied when I asked to be given freshly made cake I was told that couldn’t happen and they “followed my order request “ honestly can say the customer service is terrible and I don’t know what I did to deserve this type of service but I hope the health inspectors make them get they act together or simply close down this business

The women at this bakery are so kind. I have visited here twice and bought three different things. The strawberry shortcake was already made but fresh, it tasted fluffy and not too sweet. The vanilla custard slice I had was also fresh and tasted amazing. The Cuban Sandwich was very good, the bread wasn't too hard and the flavor was immaculate.

This place is terrible now I been coming here for years and now the service is horrible. They cater only to online orders . I feel betrayed as a long time customer. I came in to order a sandwich like I always do and after waiting 20-25 minutes I didn't get anything I asked for money back and they said it's not there fault we're busy . But everyone behind got a toasted bread with butter and the online orders ahead of me were breakfast platters . So how can you get toasted bread to people and not a sandwich for me . This is terrible I canlme every Sunday and tipped them every time and I get treated like this . I am never coming back
