What is worth choosing
If you are visiting Davidovich Cafe for the first time, there are several standout items that define the experience. While the traditional bagel with lox remains a cornerstone of the menu, recent customer experiences highlight a shift toward their more innovative offerings. The "Cloud Coffee Iced" is a must-try for any caffeine enthusiast. This drink has gained a reputation for its "cloud" of vanilla foam which is described as light and not overly sweet, making the entire beverage feel like a balanced treat rather than just a morning pick-me-up. It is as visually appealing as it is delicious, fitting perfectly into the stylish vibe of the cafe.
On the food side, the NY Pretzel Sandwich is the star of the show. While a pretzel sandwich might seem unconventional to some, the combination of savory meats, tangy mustard, pickles, and smooth cream cheese creates a flavor profile that is both unexpected and deeply satisfying. It is a hearty option that showcases the cafe's ability to reinvent classic ingredients into something fresh. Of course, for the traditionalists, the variety of bagels remains extensive. While some visitors have noted that the texture of the bagels can vary depending on the time of day, the generous portions of lox and the freshness of the ingredients generally ensure a fulfilling meal. Choosing a seat in the newly renovated area allows you to fully appreciate the "elevated yet inviting" atmosphere, making your meal feel like a true New York moment. Whether you are there for the photogenic coffee or the robust sandwiches, Davidovich Cafe delivers a slice of the city that is well worth the visit.

Came in on a Monday morning looking forward to a lox bagel but was disappointed in the quality. Bagel was stale, and there was just a little bit of cream cheese on only one side. They were generous with the amount of lox, but with the bagel being as dry as it was it just didn't work for me

I stopped by yesterday and was pleasantly surprised by how beautiful the space looks now—it feels elevated yet inviting. I ordered the Cloud Coffee Iced and it was absolutely AMAZING. The vanilla “cloud” was light, not overly sweet, and made the whole drink feel indulgent yet balanced. It’s also a very Instagrammable coffee :) For food, the staff recommended the NY Pretzel Sandwich—something I wouldn’t normally order, but I’m so glad I did. The generous layers of meat paired with cream cheese, pickle, and mustard worked together perfectly. Unexpected, but truly delicious. I’m already looking forward to going back and trying more of the new menu items. A spot that manages to be both stylish and genuinely satisfying.

Excellent little spot at the Essex street market. Perfect for a lunch break with plenty of seating upstairs. Strongly recommend. Cool staff as well.

Friendly and competent staff. Amazing baked & bread items. Also, egg and cheese on a bagel has no business being this good.
