Dining at a Colombian restaurant is always a blast! The food is bursting with flavor and the portions are huge. The atmosphere is super inviting and the service is always friendly here. Whether you’re in the mood for some tasty street food or a full-on traditional meal, this restaurant are the perfect spot for an authentic Latin American dining experience, The only downside is that the chairs are a bit tall and uncomfortable to sit in. It’s great that there’s a window table bar chair, but for the center table, I think it would be better if they had normal dining chairs - Joshua Degreiff

El Artesano Bakery Introduce

In the vibrant tapestry of Queens, New York, where every street corner offers a different cultural journey, El Artesano Bakery stands as a proud representative of Colombian culinary heritage. Located in the heart of Elmhurst, this establishment is much more than a simple bakery; it is a community hub where the aromas of freshly baked pan de bono and rich Colombian coffee create an atmosphere of warmth and nostalgia. For New Yorkers who call the 11373 area home, or for travelers just landing at nearby LaGuardia Airport, El Artesano provides a professional yet friendly environment where the flavors of South America are brought to life with precision and passion. It is a place where the hustle and bustle of New York City slows down just enough to enjoy a perfectly flaky pastry or a steaming bowl of traditional soup.

The name "El Artesano" translates to "The Artisan," a title that the bakery lives up to through its commitment to traditional techniques and high-quality ingredients. In a city where fast food often dominates the landscape, this bakery prides itself on offering food that is bursting with flavor and served in generous portions. Whether you are a regular local resident or a visitor looking for an authentic Latin American dining experience, El Artesano Bakery offers a slightly promotional but strictly factual glimpse into the rich traditions of Colombian baking and cooking. The staff is known for being nice and welcoming, ensuring that every guest—regardless of where they are from—feels like a part of the extended Colombian family.

What is worth choosing

When you visit El Artesano Bakery, the first thing worth choosing is their selection of traditional Colombian "pandes." These cheese-based breads, such as the Pan de Bono, are staples for a reason. They offer a unique, slightly chewy texture and a savory-sweet balance that is characteristic of high-quality Colombian baking. They are best enjoyed warm, ideally with a cup of their strong, aromatic Colombian coffee. For those who have just landed in New York and are looking for something substantial to tide them over, the empanadas are another highly recommended choice. These are known for their crispy outer shells and flavorful meat or vegetable fillings, making them the ultimate comfort food for any traveler.

For a more formal sit-down experience, it is worth choosing one of their traditional meals. Customers often rave about the "full-on traditional meal" options, which typically include generous helpings of rice, beans, meat, and sweet plantains. These dishes showcase the bakery's ability to transition seamlessly into a full-service restaurant. If you prefer to watch the world go by on Corona Avenue, the window table bar chairs are the perfect spot to sit while you enjoy a light snack. While the seating in the center area consists of taller chairs that some might find unique, the quality of the food and the friendliness of the staff more than make up for the unconventional furniture choices. Whether you are in the mood for a quick bite of street food or a hearty, authentic meal that feels like it was cooked in a home kitchen in Bogotá, El Artesano Bakery is a destination that delivers on its promises of flavor and hospitality.

In conclusion, El Artesano Bakery is a testament to the artisan spirit that thrives in Queens. It provides a reliable and delicious option for anyone in the Elmhurst area seeking authentic Colombian flavors. With its friendly service, massive portions, and commitment to fresh daily baking, it remains a standout choice for New Yorkers and visitors alike. Next time you find yourself on Corona Avenue, make sure to stop by and experience the vibrant tastes of Colombia right here in the United States.
