Ladurée Rockefeller Center Introduce
In the bustling heart of Midtown Manhattan, where the grandeur of Art Deco architecture meets the high-energy pulse of Fifth Avenue, lies a sanctuary of French elegance: Ladurée Rockefeller Center. This iconic cake and pastry shop serves as a prestigious outpost of the world-renowned Parisian tea room, which first opened its doors in 1862. For New Yorkers and visitors alike, Ladurée is not simply a bakery; it is a destination that transports the senses to the Rue Royale. Known globally as the creator of the double-decker macaron, Ladurée at Rockefeller Center brings that same level of historic sophistication and culinary excellence to one of the most famous landmarks in the United States. The shop is a masterpiece of aesthetic design, reflecting the "beautiful and elegant" style that has made the brand a symbol of the French "art de vivre."
Entering the shop provides an immediate respite from the urban rush of New York City. The atmosphere is frequently described by local patrons as "calm and pleasant," offering a refined environment where every detail, from the pastel-colored gift boxes to the meticulously arranged dessert displays, is curated to perfection. The staff at this location are noted for being "friendly and welcoming," ensuring that the high-end experience remains accessible and enjoyable for everyone. Whether you are stopping in for a mid-afternoon luxury treat or seeking a sophisticated gift for a special occasion, Ladurée Rockefeller Center offers an experience that is as visually stunning as it is delicious. It stands as a testament to the enduring appeal of traditional French patisserie, delivered with a modern New York flair.
Location and Accessibility
Ladurée Rockefeller Center is located at ST05, by the Channel Gardens, 620 5th Ave, New York, NY 10020, USA. Its position is truly premier, situated right along the famous Channel Gardens that lead directly to the iconic Rockefeller Center ice rink and the towering Christmas tree during the winter months. This location is "very easy to find," serving as a prominent fixture in the promenade between 49th and 50th Streets. For locals working in the surrounding office towers or those spending a day exploring the nearby shopping districts of 5th Avenue and Saks Fifth Avenue, the shop is perfectly positioned for a convenient and high-quality escape.
Accessibility is a significant highlight for this Midtown gem. It is exceptionally well-served by the New York City Subway system, with the 47-50th Sts-Rockefeller Ctr station (B, D, F, and M trains) located just a short walk away. Additionally, the E and M trains stop nearby at 5th Ave/53rd St, and the 6 train is accessible at 51st Street. Because it is situated at street level near the gardens, it is easy to navigate for those with strollers or limited mobility. The shop’s proximity to major Manhattan hubs makes it an effortless stop for commuters and a delightful discovery for pedestrians walking the scenic route through the center of the city.

What is worth choosing
When visiting Ladurée Rockefeller Center, the absolute essential choice is a box of their signature macarons. These are world-renowned for their delicate, light shells and rich, flavorful ganache or jam fillings. Local favorites often include the classic Pistachio, Salted Caramel, and Rose petal flavors. If you are looking for something truly representative of the Ladurée heritage, the Rose macaron offers a subtle, floral elegance that is hard to find elsewhere. Many customers recommend getting a mixed box to experience the full spectrum of their artisanal craftsmanship.
Beyond the macarons, the "excellent" hot chocolate is a must-try, especially during the cooler New York months. It is thick, rich, and deeply chocolatey, providing a decadent experience that pairs perfectly with a crisp pastry. For a more substantial dessert, the individual cakes—such as the Plaisir Sucré (a hazelnut and chocolate masterpiece)—are highly worth choosing. These cakes are not only "full of flavor" but are also "beautifully put together," making them a favorite for those who appreciate the visual art of French baking. Whether you are indulging in a single macaron or a full assortment of desserts, choosing Ladurée at Rockefeller Center ensures a high-quality, elegant experience that remains one of the finest "great experiences" in New York City.

The store is beautiful and the experience was great. The staff were friendly and everything looked elegant and well organized which I loved. The macarons were so soft, and full of flavor. Definitely some of the best macarons I’ve had in NY so far . I would definitely come back again.

This store was a welcome oasis when bringing priority clients to Rock Center for a business meeting. The selection here is great and our eventual arrangement of goodies made for fun conversation fodder as we tried different flavors during what was a fairly high stakes meeting. The manager in particular was especially friendly and helpful in accommodating a fairly high maintenance, inquisitive group. The lead client even quipped “we should hire her for the CMO role!” Great experience and would highly recommend if you or others have sweet tooth and are in the area.

This was the perfect cup of rich hot chocolate and a pistachio macaron. I ordered my hot chocolate with whipped cream, but that was unnecessary. It would have been perfect without it.
