Little Guyana Bake Shop Introduce
Located in the heart of one of Queens' most culturally vibrant neighborhoods, Little Guyana Bake Shop serves as a local landmark for the West Indian community in South Richmond Hill, New York. For residents across the New York metropolitan area, particularly those with roots in the Caribbean, finding a shop that captures the specific aromas and flavors of home is a vital part of the local shopping experience. This establishment is situated in a bustling section of Liberty Avenue, a thoroughfare famous for its concentration of Guyanese and Trinidadian businesses, making it a key destination for anyone seeking an authentic taste of the region.
The shop functions as a hybrid between a traditional neighborhood bakery and a specialty grocery market. In the New York landscape, these "bake shops" often serve as more than just a place to buy bread; they are community hubs where locals gather to pick up daily essentials, catch up on neighborhood news, and find ingredients that are rarely available in mainstream supermarkets. Little Guyana Bake Shop has built its presence over many years, catering to a long-standing clientele that appreciates the convenience of finding Caribbean staples alongside fresh-baked goods. From the perspective of a local user, visiting this shop is a sensory experience that reflects the diverse culinary tapestry of the New York City boroughs.
Location and Accessibility
Little Guyana Bake Shop is conveniently positioned at 124-11 Liberty Ave, South Richmond Hill, NY 11419, USA. Its location is highly accessible for those traveling within Queens via public transportation or by car. Liberty Avenue is well-served by local bus routes, and the shop is within reasonable walking distance of several stops on the MTA subway system, particularly the A-train line that runs through the Richmond Hill and Ozone Park areas. This makes it a feasible stop for commuters heading home from Manhattan or Brooklyn who need to pick up supplies for dinner or the upcoming week.
For those driving to the location, it is important to note that Liberty Avenue is a busy commercial strip. While there is metered street parking available, it can be quite competitive during peak shopping hours and weekends. The surrounding neighborhood is densely populated, so local visitors often prefer to arrive during mid-morning or early afternoon to secure a spot nearby. The shop’s storefront is easily recognizable and fits perfectly into the lively, colorful atmosphere of the South Richmond Hill business district, offering a convenient stop for both quick errands and more extensive grocery hauls.

What is worth choosing
When visiting Little Guyana Bake Shop, the primary draw for most customers is the selection of fresh-baked Caribbean breads. The Guyanese Plait Bread is a staple that is well worth choosing; it is known for its soft, airy texture and slightly sweet finish, making it the perfect accompaniment to a morning tea or a hearty Guyanese pepperpot. The Tennis Rolls are another highlight—these small, round, and slightly sweet buns are a favorite for sandwiches or simply eaten with a slice of sharp cheddar cheese. These baked items represent the core of the shop's identity and are generally what keep locals returning week after week.
In addition to the bakery section, the shop is a reliable place to find specific shelf-stable imports. If you are looking for authentic Guyanese chow mein noodles, specialized curry powders, or regional sodas like Pine Drink or Cream Soda, this is an excellent location to browse. While the shop offers a variety of frozen goods including seafood and shrimp, local users have noted that it is important to inspect frozen items carefully and check for freshness, as is standard practice when shopping for specialty frozen imports in a busy urban setting. For the best experience, focus on the freshly prepared baked goods which remain the highlight of the Liberty Avenue shopping experience. Whether you are a Richmond Hill local or a visitor from another borough, picking up a fresh loaf of bread here is a quintessential Queens experience.

THE SHRIMPS ARE FROZEN AND YOU BUY IT THAT WAY YOU TRUST AS A BUSINESS THEY WOULD BE HONEST AND SELL PROPER THINGS. I AM A CUSTOMER FOR MANY YEARS SHOPPING HERE. IF I DIDN’T LIVE SO FAR I WOULD HAVE DEFINITELY DRIVE AND TAKE IT AND SHOW THEM! BE CAREFUL OF WHAT YOU BUY HERE!! TO ADD THE DAMN SHRIMP WAS SO EXPENSIVE BECAUSE WE’RE PAYING FOR ICE!!!!

Wish I could have put less than 1 star. Bought shrimp from them yesterday. Got home and open the bag the shrimp was spoiled even though it was frozen you can still smell it. It was put in 2 bags to mask the smell. This is very bad. These stores don’t want to have any losses so they sell things that are spoilt or expired. Very disappointing.
