Mia's Brooklyn Bakery Introduce
Introduction / Overview
For New Yorkers navigating the high-energy corridors of Midtown, Mia's Brooklyn Bakery brings a touch of classic outer-borough sweetness to the heart of Manhattan. Located in the bustling Times Square district, this outpost of the well-known Brooklyn brand aims to provide a convenient stop for locals and visitors seeking a quick sugar fix amidst the neon lights. The bakery is designed to capture the essence of a traditional neighborhood shop, adapted for the fast-paced environment of 7th Avenue. While many associate the brand with its larger, more spacious flagship locations, the Times Square branch serves a specific role as a high-traffic hub for those on the move.
Walking into the shop, customers are immediately greeted by a visually striking array of desserts. The bakery specializes in a "Brooklyn-style" aesthetic, which translates to large, indulgent portions and an impressive variety of cakes, tarts, and pastries. The shop's presence in one of the world's most famous intersections makes it a frequent stop for commuters heading to nearby office buildings or theater-goers looking for a treat before a Broadway show. Despite its compact footprint, the bakery maintains a professional presentation, with glass displays that showcase the artistry of their baking team. It is a place built on the promise of indulgence, offering a wide spectrum of flavors that reflect the diverse culinary landscape of the New York region.
Location and Accessibility
Mia's Brooklyn Bakery is situated at 716 7th Ave, New York, NY 10036, USA. This location is strategically placed in the epicenter of Midtown Manhattan, making it incredibly accessible for anyone working in or traveling through the Times Square area. Positioned on the corner of 7th Avenue, the bakery is just steps away from major landmarks, office towers, and entertainment venues. For New Yorkers, this means a reliable dessert option is always within reach during a busy workday or a night out in the city.
Accessibility via public transportation is one of the strongest features of this location. It is within a very short walking distance of the 49th Street Subway Station (N, R, W lines) and the 50th Street Station (1, 2 lines). Additionally, the massive transportation hub at Times Square-42nd Street is only a few blocks south, providing access to nearly every major subway line in the city, including the A, C, E, N, Q, R, W, 1, 2, 3, and 7 trains, as well as the S shuttle. Because the shop is designed with a smaller, pickup-oriented layout, it is particularly well-suited for those who are walking through the area and want a quick, efficient transaction without navigating the crowds of a sit-down cafe.

What is worth choosing
When visiting the Times Square location of Mia's Brooklyn Bakery, the standout choice for most patrons is undoubtedly the signature cake slices. These slices are famous for their generous size and aesthetic appeal, making them a popular choice for those who want a substantial dessert experience. The bakery often runs promotions, such as three slices for a fixed price (e.g., $25), which is an excellent way for families or groups to sample different varieties. These slices are often the most robust items in the display and are well-regarded for their visual presentation and traditional flavor profiles.
However, as with any high-traffic bakery in a busy urban center, it is important for customers to exercise a bit of local savvy. While the displays are always beautiful, it is highly recommended to ask the staff which items were most recently prepared or delivered to the shop. For items like the Napoleon, which relies on the crispness of pastry layers and the freshness of cream, checking with the counter staff about the morning's delivery can ensure you get the best possible texture. Local users have noted that while the cakes are large and visually impressive, the freshness of delicate layered pastries can vary depending on the time of day and the specific batch. For the best experience, sticking to the most popular cake varieties—which tend to have a higher turnover rate—is usually the safest and most satisfying bet. Whether you are bringing a treat back to your office or sharing slices with family, choosing the daily specials can provide a taste of Brooklyn's dessert culture right in the middle of Manhattan.

Visited the Times Square location of Mia's Brooklyn Bakery. The shop itself is quite small and feels more like a pickup counter than a full bakery. The display looks nice and the desserts look very appealing. We tried the Napoleon. Unfortunately, it didn’t taste fresh. We actually came right when the shop opened, but the pastry layers were already a bit dry, and even the cream filling felt slightly dry as well. Because of that, it really didn’t feel like it was made the same day. It still looked beautiful, but the texture was a bit disappointing.

The reason why I gave two stars is because on Sarturday 12/20 my siblings purchased three slides of cake for $25. It was a promotion the bakery had. The slides of cake looked good and were big. My siblings wanted to shared that with my parents who live in Maryland. We drove back to MD to see them and share with them some pastries we brought with us. One whole slide was bad it had moho. It seemed like the slide of cakes were no fresh and who knows how long they have been sitting in the cake display. Please be careful with that!! Someone could intoxicate with that. This is for Times Square location.

I am so sorry… but today I purchased a lobster tail and it looked great but not fresh at all. The filling was great but the pastry was so old and chewy instead of flaky. I paid $10 for the old pastry… I could get better and larger for this amount… and FRESH.

I didn't take a photo of the finished and uncut cake because it had a personal message on it and I forgot to take the photo and blur the message. Having said this I purchased the 7 inch cake minus the sprinkles and minus the Hershey kiss-type design on top. The message on the top of the cake was perfect and clear. I purchased this for a friend and we're 2 males, where we don't fuss about what the message of the cake looked like. In other words, we weren't looking for a Spielberg production on a cake. To the review. The cake was perfect: not too sweet and eating it was smooth, with no lumps. I refrigerated it and it was cool; not cold. Would I come back again and buy another cake from here? Absolutely. I looked at some of the one star reviews and I simply don't get it. I wasn't looking for perfection but I received perfection for 1. The birthday guy smiled continuously and ate several pieces and savored it. 2. The desired effect, was achieved. I'll take a photo or two of one or two of the pieces of the cake tomorrow. If I purchase something such as a good or service and it was lacking in any way, I'd call the business and work it out. Weaponizing a review against a business is unfair and tacky. My experience with these folks at Mia's was great. Forget about parking. It's on 7th Ave and 48th Street in Times Square. Take the N, R, W to 49th St or take the 1 train to 50th at Broadway and walk 2.5 blocks.

I was visiting NYC and visited this location on the display alone. Everything looked very good. The space is a bit cramped though. Can only.turn around in the space; can not hold many people but that is fine once you get in there and no one is in. I asked for a good seller, and was suggested the blackout. I also got chocolate pecan cheesecake. The cake was very moist. I got the pudding part, but the cake needed more of a cake texture if that makes sense. It was almost the same texture as the pudding filling. Still had a good taste; would have want a more of a contrast with sweetness, maybe coffee. The cheesecake was also okay for me. Prefer a diff taste and texture, more firm. I cannot say this was bad, I just wanted a diff taste and texture. A bit pricey for the size as well. Paid 19 for just those 2 slices.
