Paris Baguette Introduce
When navigating the bustling streets of Midtown Manhattan, particularly as you approach the lush greenery of Central Park, the craving for a reliable and high-quality treat often strikes. Paris Baguette, located at 977 8th Ave, has established itself as a cornerstone for New Yorkers and visitors alike who seek a harmonious blend of French-inspired baking and global flavors. This neighborhood favorite is more than just a typical bakery; it is an international sensation that brings a sophisticated yet accessible touch to the local food scene. Whether you are starting your morning with a flaky croissant or seeking a mid-afternoon pick-me-up, this location offers a warm and inviting atmosphere right in the heart of one of the city's most energetic districts.
The appeal of Paris Baguette lies in its consistency and the sheer variety of its offerings. As you step inside, you are immediately greeted by the aroma of freshly baked bread and the visual spectacle of hundreds of meticulously crafted pastries. For the local New York professional or the student heading to a nearby library, it serves as a dependable "quick drop-in" spot. The bakery operates with a self-service model for many of its items, allowing you to browse at your own pace and select exactly what catches your eye—a feature that resonates well with the fast-paced lifestyle of residents in the 10019 area.
Location and Accessibility
The bakery is perfectly situated at 977 8th Ave, New York, NY 10019, USA. Its location is perhaps its most significant strategic advantage, sitting just outside the southwest corner of Central Park. This makes it an ideal destination for those planning a morning stroll or a picnic in the park. Being located on 8th Avenue also puts it within walking distance of the Columbus Circle transportation hub, the Hearst Tower, and various Broadway theaters.
Accessibility is seamless for anyone using the New York City subway system. You can easily reach the bakery via the 59th St-Columbus Circle station, which serves the 1, A, B, C, and D lines. Additionally, the 57th St-7th Ave station (N, Q, R, W lines) is just a few blocks away. For those who prefer the bus, several major lines run directly along 8th Avenue and Broadway. The storefront is designed to handle the high foot traffic of Midtown while providing a cozy indoor space for those looking to escape the elements and "get warm" during the chilly New York winter months.

What is Worth Choosing
When it comes to selecting from the myriad of options at Paris Baguette, the "top-notch" pastries are the clear winners. Local regulars highly recommend the savory options, such as the ham and cheese croissants or the curry croquettes, which provide a substantial and satisfying bite. On the sweet side, their signature mochi donuts and strawberry soft cream cakes are perennial favorites that showcase the bakery's commitment to light, airy textures and balanced sweetness.
If you are looking for a more substantial meal, their fresh salads are surprisingly robust and a cut above typical fast-food offerings. For coffee drinkers, while the beverages are described as "basic" and "fine" for a quick caffeine fix, they serve as a functional accompaniment to the stellar food. A pro-tip from frequent visitors: check the packaged section if you have dietary restrictions, as the vegan and gluten-free treats are quite well-regarded for their flavor. Finally, don't forget to take advantage of the takeaway service. Grabbing a selection of pastries and a warm drink to enjoy on a Central Park bench is a quintessential New York experience that never gets old.

Pastries are amazing, with lots of sweet and savory options, plus salads and drinks. Coffee isn’t great though — if you really care about coffee, it’s just basic. Food is top-notch and the service is good. Grab takeaway and, if it’s nice out, enjoy your breakfast in Central Park! 🥐☀️

Located right outside of Central Park. This is a bakery and coffee spot. It’s definitely a chain and has some gf and vegan items in packaging. The coffee was fine. Not bad for a quick drop in. My friend was happy with the freebie when joining. Always nice to have a spot to get warm.

Cakes are beautifully decorated and the three pastries I mowed down were delicious. Berry tart is a 10 !! The cream was light, not too sweet, superb even. The blueberry chiffon cake was almost too light for its own good,i could take down a whole cake and probably not regret it.and the chocolate strawberry cake was moist and light and none of the cakes were too sweet.

The service was great and smiley. Food is displayed beautifully behind the glass and easy to get with individual tongues. I tried few different things, most of them were good. Coffee could be better, it’s not strong and lacks that delicious coffee flavor which we all crave in the morning. Overall, nice place to get a quick bite.

I'm a big fan of your pastries, cakes and coffee, but lately doesn't seem to be up to the usual fresh standard at this location. On more than one occasion the cake tasted a bit stale and very dry suggesting it had been sitting out for a while, lacking the fresh, sweet flavor I was expecting. I hope you can focus on ensuring the freshness of your baked goods in the future, as the quality has previously been excellent.
