Doughnuttery Introduce
In a city where bigger often seems to be the default, Doughnuttery has successfully flipped the script by proving that some of the best things in New York come in small, sugar-dusted packages. Nestled in the innovative Turnstyle Underground Market beneath Columbus Circle, Doughnuttery is a destination for those who appreciate the intersection of high-end culinary craft and nostalgic comfort. This isn't your typical neighborhood donut shop; it is a specialized bakeshop dedicated to the art of the "mini" donut—fried fresh to order and tossed in a kaleidoscopic array of unique, proprietary sugars. For New Yorkers navigating the subterranean pulse of the city, this shop provides a vibrant, aromatic pause in an otherwise frantic commute.
The magic of Doughnuttery lies in its commitment to freshness. Unlike large-scale bakeries that stock shelves at dawn, the process here is performative. Visitors can watch as the batter is dropped into the oil, emerging as golden rings that are immediately seasoned with sophisticated flavor profiles. The shop manages to balance a professional, high-concept approach to pastry with a friendly, high-energy atmosphere that turns a simple snack into a memorable Midtown experience. Whether you are a local Upper West Side resident or a professional heading into the Hearst Tower, the sight of a hot box of mini donuts is a universal language of indulgence in the 10019 zip code.
Location and Accessibility
Doughnuttery is strategically located at 1000 8th Ave, New York, NY 10019, inside the Turnstyle Underground Market. This unique subterranean shopping and dining concourse is situated directly beneath 8th Avenue, stretching between 57th and 59th Streets. One of the greatest advantages of this location is that you do not need a MetroCard or subway fare to enter; it is a public-access market with seven street-level entrances, making it an easy detour for anyone walking near Columbus Circle or Central Park South.
For those traveling from other parts of the city, accessibility is unparalleled. The shop is positioned within the 59th St-Columbus Circle transit hub, which is served by the A, B, C, D, and 1 subway lines. This makes it a perfect "grab-and-go" spot for commuters during the morning rush or those heading home after a Broadway show. The Turnstyle Market itself is wheelchair-friendly and offers a clean, modern, and climate-controlled environment, providing a much-needed respite from the extreme New York summer heat or winter chills. Its central location also places it within minutes of major landmarks like the Time Warner Center and the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts.

What is worth choosing
If it is your first time visiting Doughnuttery, the most rewarding approach is to order a dozen mini donuts to explore a variety of flavor categories. While many visitors are drawn to the "House Favorites," the Cookies & Cream sugar is frequently cited by regulars as a standout choice. It offers a nostalgic, creamy crunch that perfectly complements the soft, warm dough. For those who enjoy a more sophisticated or "Exotic" palate, "Paris Time" (a blend of lavender, pistachio, and vanilla) provides a fragrant and floral experience that is rarely found in the world of donuts.
Don't overlook the beverage menu, as the tea selection has garnered its own loyal following. A cup of their fantastic hot tea or a specialized "Green Tea Buzz" provides a balanced counterpoint to the sweetness of the donuts. If you are sharing with a group, the 25-piece "Maker Box" is an excellent choice, as it allows you to select multiple sugar flavors to ensure there is something for everyone. For those who prefer a little extra indulgence, adding a side of Raspberry Balsamic or Nutella dipping sauce is a must. Whether you are a fan of traditional cinnamon sugar or looking to try something "viral" like the Maple Bacon-inspired flavors, Doughnuttery offers a bite-sized piece of New York culinary creativity that is well worth the underground trip.
Ultimately, Doughnuttery succeeds because it understands the New York pace. It provides a high-quality, artisanal product that can be enjoyed while walking to the office or as a quick treat during a busy day of sightseeing. The combination of friendly staff, a fun atmosphere, and truly unique flavors makes it a staple of the Columbus Circle area. Next time you find yourself at the 59th Street station, follow the scent of fresh cinnamon and vanilla—you won't regret it.

Had such a great experience here! The staff were super friendly and made the whole visit feel fun. I tried a bunch of flavors and honestly, they were all good—but Cookies & Cream was the standout for me. They’ve got so many creative options, I’m already planning to come back and try more. Definitely worth a stop if you’re into unique doughnuts or just want a treat that feels a little special.

We got a dozen mini donuts to try as many flavors as possible. They were all good, but most were generically sweet - couldn't hardly taste or even visibly see any difference between the cinnamon sugar, green tea and chai donuts. The tea was fantastic. Overall not bad, but more viral than impressive. I'd go back for the tea.

From my very first time, I enjoyed the donuts and the customer service Janelle gave! Every time she’s there, I go. Donuts are warm and fresh And as a chef, I really do appreciate the flavor palette! Definitely bringing some home for my family tonight. Straw pass and didn’t see my girl, but I’m still gonna order

We do pretty large orders from here on a regular basis, and they have all been flawless. Everything comes out warm and delicious, and they even realized we made a mistake and offered to remake the entire batch for the next day! We love this place.

MINI DONUTSSSSSS. I don’t know how they do it but the flavors are amazing! Imagine eating a chai latte flavored donut or a mint chocolate chip one. How? How do they do it?!?!?! The guy working there was patient and helpful with the many questions i had. Overall a great experience!
