Bagels & More Introduce
In the architectural heart of Manhattan’s Upper East Side, specifically within the charming enclave of Carnegie Hill, the search for a traditional New York breakfast often leads locals to 3rd Avenue. Bagels & More has established itself as a versatile, high-traffic hub for those who appreciate the quintessential New York City bagel experience. This establishment serves as more than just a quick stop for a morning carbohydrate fix; it is a full-service deli and grill that mirrors the fast-paced, high-energy demand of the 10128 neighborhood. For residents living among the area’s historic museums and prestigious schools, having a reliable spot for a diverse range of breakfast and lunch staples is a vital part of urban life.
The atmosphere at Bagels & More is characteristic of a classic Manhattan deli—unpretentious, efficient, and bustling with activity. It caters to a wide demographic, from students at nearby institutions to busy professionals heading toward Midtown. The shop operates with the "sense of urgency" that New Yorkers have come to expect, focusing on providing a massive menu that covers everything from the simplest toasted bagel with butter to complex, multi-layered deli sandwiches. While the city is famous for its "bagel wars," this shop maintains its presence by offering a one-stop-shop experience where you can grab a fresh juice, a hot coffee, and a custom-made sandwich all in a single visit.
Location and Accessibility
Bagels & More is conveniently located at 1585 3rd Ave #2, New York, NY 10128, USA. Situated on the east side of 3rd Avenue between 89th and 90th Streets, it sits in a prime position within Carnegie Hill. This location is particularly advantageous for those who frequent the 86th Street transit hub. The shop is just a few blocks north of the 4, 5, and 6 subway lines at 86th Street and Lexington Avenue, as well as the Q train at 86th and 2nd Avenue, making it an easy detour for commuters during their morning trek.
For those navigating the neighborhood on foot, the shop is a staple of the local streetscape, easily accessible for residents of the high-rise apartments and brownstones that define this part of the Upper East Side. The accessibility also extends to the digital realm, as Bagels & More maintains a robust presence on major New York delivery platforms, ensuring that even if you can't make it to the physical storefront, the flavors of Carnegie Hill can be delivered directly to your door. Its street-level entrance is designed for quick entry and exit, reflecting the grab-and-go nature of the Manhattan breakfast scene.

What is Worth Choosing
When navigating a menu as large as the one at Bagels & More, it is helpful to look for the "neighborhood favorites" that have stood the test of time. The Bacon, Egg, and Cheese on an "Everything" bagel is the undisputed king of the breakfast menu here, consistently cited as a top seller. For those who prefer a more traditional appetizing experience, the Nova Scotia Salmon platter or sandwich—paired with a generous schmear of scallion cream cheese—is worth choosing for its classic New York flavor profile.
If you are looking for something outside of the traditional bagel realm, their Western Omelet Sandwiches and freshly pressed paninis are highly regarded for their generous portion sizes. For the health-conscious Upper East Side resident, the fresh-squeezed green juices offer a refreshing alternative to the standard coffee-and-bagel pairing. However, the most important tip for any prospective customer is to prioritize freshness. As with any high-volume deli, the best experience is often found in the items that move the fastest. Choosing a fresh-from-the-oven plain or sesame bagel, paired with a simple spread, allows the traditional texture of the New York bagel to shine through. Whether you are a regular or a first-time visitor, Bagels & More provides a functional, diverse, and undeniably Manhattan experience in the heart of Carnegie Hill.
Ultimately, Bagels & More represents the "everyman's" deli in a neighborhood often dominated by luxury. It provides the essential services that keep the Upper East Side moving, one toasted bagel at a time. While the city offers countless options, the convenience and variety found at this 3rd Avenue location ensure its place as a local staple for years to come.

Ordered a chicken cutlet sandwich and the chicken was hard, old, and disgusting. Shame on you for selling expired food that can get people sick!

I got bagels here Three times. The two times I got cream cheese, it was Spoiled. I suppose you could get something else there, but it is a general rule for me if anything is spoiled I won’t get Anything.

The bagels and their tasty spreads/ toppings remain a staple and classic in this neighborhood for 20+ years. And while I haven't visited in over 17 years, the quality of the food still remains the same. I brought one of my many brothers here to experience for himself the reality of what had just been a story before, and he was pleasantly satisfied by the food. Generally, I would recommend the cinnamon raisin walnut cream cheese on a toasted raisin bagel for children or more mature customers, and the scallion cream cheese on a toasted onion bagel for others.

Honestly got sticker shock at the leave of the bagels: 2 everything bagels - 1 with scallion cream cheese and 1 bacon+scallion for nearly $15! I asked for toasted one 1 of them and they didn’t toast, bagels are small as well only about 2//3 the size of a regular NY bagel. Very overpriced especially for the subpar product

The service and speed were great, but the bagel was average. We got two everything bagels with plain cream cheese, and they were alright. The bagel was dense, and in the words of my sister, “there aren’t many toppings on here… this is basically a plain bagel - where are my garlic nubs?!”
